  • I have received a lot of questions about Garmin Panoptix LiveScope orientation, so in this video, I discuss all of the orientations that LiveScope has to offer while giving a lot of visuals. I show examples of what forward mode, down mode, and perspective mode looks like and exactly what their beam angle looks like. Some of the visuals are not to the exact degree. They are meant for visual aids to help understand the concept of each mode specifically when talking perspective mode.

      How shallow of water can you use your livescope in ? ... I have a lily pad area that usually holds gills and perch and crappie that is in 4 foot of water will it work in that shallow of water in forward or down mode ?

    • @tjsguideservice
      @tjsguideservice  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@joemontello9372 I would say perspective mode would be best for that. You can use forward mode for that as well, but the scale would make it tricky to see very far effectively. Would this be through the ice or in a boat?

      Appreciate it! That’s all a matter of preference. A lot of guys like it so it’s pointing the direction it’s shooting. I like to have it like I am directing the cone. Tough to describe without a visual. Almost like looking down the barrel of a gun with the stock in your shoulder if that makes any sense. Either way, as long as you know which way it’s facing that’s all that matters 😂

    Noticed you demo the Perspective mode at a 90 degree angle. Since it's introduction Garmin has used an 11 degree down angle. It's also marked as such on the Summit mount. Does this have any effect on your image?

    • @tjsguideservice
      @tjsguideservice  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That is a very good point! I didn’t talk about that a lot, but I have found that the shallower I am, I keep it closer parallel with the water and the deeper I am closer to that 11 degrees offset. It is sometimes difficult to tell what angle I am at since it is in the water and I will just tilt it until I see the best picture, but I don’t have near the experience with perspective mode. It makes complete sense because technically it shoots out 10 degrees to each side, so some of the cone would be out of the water at 90 degrees. Thanks for the input! Always learning!
