Very moving . Those mining communuties were special places till thatcher ripped the heart and soul from em . Didnt realise how 'barnsley' Hemsworth folk sound .
Aye lass...a used to work theer...long time nar sin a wo theer...many villages decimated by the greed of a few....lessons to be learned to take into our next life...if we get one...for good behaviour an all that...cant see that Maggie woman gettin one though....
The loss of the pits and the Busby Babes...both had a big impact on me...mi dad played agen Tommy as a young lad...said he wo a great player...Dickie Bird thought the world of him. I heard recently that Mark Jones' son had passed, Gary...used to see him at games, he always had a ticket I think after his dad's death...the new forms of capitalism have destroyed both mining communities and Man Utd...these kind of people have no heart...they only see the £ or $ signs...ruthless!
Nar then , anywhere I can watch full video?
My granparents used to live here, they moved from scotland in the 60s, my grandad was a miner.

I knew a few Scots whose parents came down...I think quite a few came to certain pits...like Elsecar...and near Hemsworth

We cannot reopen the mines...but we can try and recreate the spirit of those villages and the camarderie...
