I will always remember watching episodes with Slaughter fighting for old glory and then twenty minutes later seeing him waving the Iraqi flag in the wrestling ring and calling for the destruction of America. 1990 was a strange time to be a GIJoe fan
Wrestling is weird in general, but then so is GI Joe. The movie, the later vintage figures, Quick Kick running around without shoes, Egyptian gods and aliens running around, Shipwreck never being court martialed.
Sarge starting his face/heel turn is when I stopped watching WWF. I noticed that he was not wearing his GI Joe patch. And then he cut a promo where he was not practicing proper firearm safety pointing a gun at the camera. I had started watching other TV at that timeslot by the time he was pro-Iraqi.
Another great one Hoodie CoCo! I had V2 Sgt. Slaughter. I got the Tripple T my mail order with the orange guns and missiles and my mom found the V2 Sarge at a yard sell and bought it for me. I still have found memories of watching WWF with my grandad and Slaughter was my favorite. As a young kid I was confused why the GI Joes never helped when the Sarge got attacked.... and I was very confused when he turned heel and sided with Iraq in that storyline. As far as the figure I think it was ok. If I had a choice, I would always pick V1 it just looks great. The unpainted wrist bands are my only real problem complaint. The release teams were a great chance at getting figures I missed. I have Slaughter's Marauder's Spirit for example. Getting excited for CC7! I'm hoping you open it up again. I have some ideas for content. :)
I was watching this video while walking through my local Walmart, and I found Dusty for $22! Thanks HCC788 for the good luck! Either that, or he was intimidated by my Action Force T-shirt, and reduced his price‼️
Nice brother, I wish you would've waited, and did a whole month on Slaughter' Marauders! Heck, Spirit, Mutt and Junkyard, Low Light and Footloose some of my favorites!
I heard a story about Sgt. Slaughter that during the glory days of G.I.Joe: A.R.A.H. he used to visit Children's Hospitals and give out toys to the kids. I have a lot of respect for him for doing that.
I loved these figures! I owned the first two versions and played with them all the time! Just recently I made my own custom version of him using the Marauders gun Runner figures and a 3D printed head. I have a second one planed to look like version 2 in the works. Thanks so much for this awesome review and I'm excited to hear that you're going to get another chance to chat with the real Sergeant Slaughter in a couple of weeks. I hope you have a really great time and get a chance to have a nice conversation with him. 😊
Had this action figure when I was a kid. As the sole action figure from Slaughter's Marauders, that I had then, he did see quite a bit of play time on my bedroom floor. Sadly, his left thumb busted off about a year or two after I purchased him. Also, even as a kid I thought it a bit on the strange side that the action figure lacked a proper weapon accessory. Likely, at one point, I did arm him with a weapon from Battle Gear Accessory Pack number five since I was not that great at holding onto some accessories for many of my G.I. Joe's. I do agree that the unpainted seam on the tank top and the wrist bands is a real missed opportunity on Hasbro's part. Especially when compared to the first two Sgt. Slaughter action figures.
I wish they had released that version - as a substitute I use the GI Joe Marine released in 1994....I think. It's close enough to the comic look for me 😎
Aldous Huxley, “A Brave New World”. Sgt. Slaughter was reading one of my favorite Authors and book. A book that is quite prophetic these days. I knew Slaughter was a 100% Alpha, not a Beta or Gamma.
Great video! Thank you for the hard work you do on these videos. I had the first three Sgt. Slaughter figures but the second and third versions were my favorite.
I distinctly remember him being called Sergeant Driller in Belgium. I also remember the right upper part of his left leg was a different shade of light green so he had this weird straight divide in the light green part of his upper leg.
Great review. I commented on the patreon video and asked a question. Slaughter's Slaughterhouse provided a great answer. I asked about which vehicle would this Sarge look best in and he said the Equalizer. I think he's right.
Hasbro released a Sgt. Slaughter figure for its wwf line. There was an ljn sgt slaughter figure. Not sure if Remco made one for its awa line of figures.
I feel the reason some believe the mail away sgt.slaughter was from 1985 was because some boxes for 1985 vehicles are seen with the ad for the sgt.slaugter toy. However, none of the 1985 original issues for carded 1985 toys had this ad for the sgt.slaughter toy, they can only be seen on the 1986 reissues of those toys, you can tell the difference between the 1985 originals and the 1986 reissues of the toys because the 1985 originals had the original G.I.Joe logo, but the 1986 reissues had the new logo for 86. The vehicles were a little different, the vehciles didn't update the logo for the 1986 reissues. I think the 1985 vehciles that show the sgt.slaughter add are the 1986 reissues.

The 90’s were the comedown era, after all the cocaine of the 80’s. So, yeah, it was weird.

Thankfully he got his country back!

"Full Force!" ✊
I had a fantastic time on this video HCC788. I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to collaborate on such a fun project. Yo Joe! You're dismissed 🫖
Excellent info about the Sarge!
Met Sgt. Slaughter a few years ago. Genuinely good guy.

Same here. He was/is a hero to many
Love the Sarge. You Slaughterized it Commander! Good review!
i met Sgt Slaughter several years ago at WrestleMania 32 in Arlington. Really nice guy.
You can not go wrong with the Sarge! This was an excellent deep dive and it was great to see Hoodie in the clutch!
Nice. The Equalizer was a favorite vehicle as a kid.
The classified version needs a diddy bag a itty bitty diddy bag
Great review. Loved it. Period.
And yes, you slaughterized it!

More than a figure review, that was a thorough Sarge retrospective! A figure of his debut look at 24:33 is my holy grail 😔

that book is amazing. more relevant today than 1984, i believe
Such an informative and complete description of Sgt. Slaughter, especially as a GI Joe character. Sargent Slaughter is pretty cool.
Version 2 of Sgt.Slaughter is my favorite because that's how the Sarge looked in the cartoon.
Great video! Thank you for the hard work you do on these videos. I had the first three Sgt. Slaughter figures but the second and third versions were my favorite.
HCC 788 I think Cobra Commander & Surpentor in a Cobra clutch would be cool in shirts too 👕.

I have GI Joe Classified Sarge and Action Force V1 Sarge; hoping you cover them all in your vid but so far I love my modern Sarges
Vato! Your Arashikage tattoo says everything about you , Brother🖖🖖🖖
Holy mackerel!
Great review guys 👍

He does look excellent in the top cannon section that's for sure! Yo Joe 😎
Excellent review
The Slaugters Mauraders toys were only avalible in 1989.
Another awesome video ❤

Wonderful review! Yo Joe!!
I have a box set of slaughter’s marauders still in box . I was supposed to get the Dreadnoks . I’m mad I didn’t get the Dreadnoks
Okay that was funny and a cool review of Sgt Slaughter.
I had a lot of fun that's for sure 😊
In Mexico we knew Sgt Slaughter as Sargento Bravo.
He's gone by a few names internationally but Sgt Bravo is one of my favourites
Version 3 looks great in those blue spagetti straps.

Knowing is half the battle
@@xazylsclubhouse G.I.Joooooe!!!
Why were the Sgt. Slaughter bits missing from the dvd set??
I'd say it's probably got to do with the licencing agreements for Sgt Slaughter having lapsed at the time. But that's just a guess
I wish they would have kept making versions of Sarge. What would he have looked like in Star Brigade? Spandex and a space helmet?
Heck, I'd have bought a Ninja Force Sarge
Was there a different artist for this card back?
As an E7, his rank would be Gunnery Sergeant, not just Sergeant as listed on his card.
Even though I agree with your criticisms of the figure I do still really like this one and dig the maruaders color scheme.
COOL!😃!
So his file name is both classified AND top secret? Wow, that's a lot of secrecy!
Valorvers made an excellent SGT. Slaughter
Coolest looking SS in imo 🎖🏅🥇..Big Boa must be the sarges Cobra equivalent 🤔
I agree! At least until Roddy Piper showed up
Safe travels! Enjoy Joefeat!
I have it the brazilian version!
What does the 788 in your name mean?
It’s the number on the front of the original HISS Tank
😎👍
😗👍
😘👍
Could not the poop stain paint app on his campaign hat been directed at the emblem?
Definitely the worst version of Sgt. Slaughter. I won't own this one. The other three are excellent.
