getting a good head unit is probably the best mod for the early NCs. Went from just radio and CD's (no aux) to android auto with Waze. The waze alone has probably saved me from enough tickets to make it worth it
Best thing you can do with those separate tweeters is to just disconnect them and leave them in the door cards. The speakers you bought are two ways with a tweeter built in.
I put in a crappy atoto unit in a few years ago…its roulette each time to see if apple car play will work, usually it takes about 5 plug/unplugs of the cable to finally do it. You should solder and heat sink the speaker connections in the doors though, there’s a lot of humidity in there and they will corrode.
I know you said you don't care about the radio, but I think your NC deserved better than this head unit. Also you also stated in the video you just needed something that works. I dont think the chinesium radio will last that long or work without glitches. Should have spent a little more on something that has at least known reliability somewhat. Your miata is really rad and it pains to see you put this tin can headunit in it. Awesome car deserves awesome mods

I would have doubled the head unit budget and gone with an Atoto unit.
