first thing on my mind: "hmm, what did just happen?" this is madness!
To me, it looked like Ahman and Hellvig were just simply exhausted. I know they are young and full of energy, but I question if the jump setting is sustainable at the end of the day.
Credit all to Boermans and de Groot. Perfect example of when opportunity meets preparation 🙌
People say this every time they lose to someone other than Mol and Sorum, it's obviously sustainable because they have won tons of tournaments
@@travisbrown2149Yep, i do not think it is about sustainability. Might just be some habitual thing those 2 did not do right before this match. Could be virtually anything. could be wrong eating, sleeping, could be nerves... You never know. I know, that they will learn from this one :)
@@travisbrown2149 you're not wrong, and Clayton (commentator) mentions that by referring to their "meteoric rise". I guess the true question is the long-term sustainability. Say, another Olympic cycle. Nonetheless, it's a refreshingly entertaining adaptation to the game and I'm all for it.

@@trentwebby6056I think they will stay jump setting there whole career, I think what will be interesting to see is whether most new teams will be jump setting like the Swedes or playing more traditional only throwing in jump sets every now and again.

NED blocking was the key from the highlights I saw. Sweden did not adjust and have any answers. Learning moment for them.
Not only blocking, they have strong service. That's key to destroy swedes playful games.

Old heads are salivating at this game. It’s just a bad side out day for them, they’re tired. They’ll still come around and win more than any other partnership this year.
We are just watching highlights so i want to be carefull with conclusion... but it really seems to me that way too. Netherlands played good powervelleyball dont get me wrong, but them having uncharacteristically bad first touches ( which i think is from exhaustion too) put them in Bad spots ( for them because of their size disadvantage) of having to do normal sets and hits which got blocked a lot. It seems like they are their own biggest enemy

Thats exactly what I wanted to say as well. I know Qatar has tons of money but this poor attendance is bad for the sport
because with the money from these tournaments, the tour can exist.

well, bad start by swedens in both sets, perfect Boermans blocks, de Groot defense and of course frustration of young swedens lead to these results 😢

What a hurricane on the court... impossible to pass and hit on the 2nd touch (SWE can't speed up their settings...)... and the precision is horrible... if you're coach... anyone would see this technical problem... have you ever played Ping-Pong or badminton in a hurricane coming from all sides ? try... it's more luck than a technical game.
Nobody else in the comments realises how windy it clearly was. Of couse, Nederlands played exceptionally well, but sweden didnt get to play their game with how much the wind was affecting
Just a really bad day for Swedes. They are still the best and most spectacular and innovating players. All others Slim Shadies are just immitating.
Judging by these highlights, Ahman's receiving game was not on point. So many easy mistakes. Ofc NED did play their absolute A game. Congrats 🎉

Beach Volleyball is turning ugly. Jump setting is cool and all, but the moment they all start tipping with a jump handset, it's over.
It won't work on this level.
Nothing thin about him at all and I’d call Boermans the “NEW BEAST”. 50lbs more than Dalhauser and if he can stay fit his mentality in the game at this time is on point !!
