42 minutes into the video and I'm just gonna say that Moky's quote "I want everyone to be playing the same characters" is just very poorly worded. It's way too open to interpretation and easy to assume a bad faith connotation. My first thought from hearing it was "The meta/game should just be the same few characters", especially given the Melee Community's notorious reputation that the same 5 characters are the only "cool" or "acceptable" picks for high-level Melee.
Finally found the answer. "I misspoke on that, i meant to say i want everyone to play the same versions of characters, like no different move sets or perks to change what a characters moves do"
The Boys Waffleman And Big Irorn Back at again. Talking about a video Moky made about Why he doesn't enjoy other plat fighters. Although i do understand his points and agree with some. I think its just it doesnt tell me a whole lot for other new plat fighters and how to get people to play their game. Especially if you want it to be more like melee... cause you'll just play melee anyway.
Where I think gimmicks should be factored is... We need gimmicks like Taiger... We don't need Phoenix Wright, we don't need Neco arc where they aren't even playing the game anymore. Hero and Steve don't even play the game anymore. Rivals has so far avoided going anywhere NEAR that far which is why it works same with Melee, Project M, Brawlhalla so on.
Am I missing something? I don't recall Moky referring to MVS when talking about the "everyone to be playing the same character" quote. -EDIT: NVM, I saw it.
