@@agent9670 Trump has such a strong grip on the Republican party now that he effectively gets to decide who runs for congress. And no Republican congressmen/women will never vote against anything Trump wants to pass, or else face being cast out. He now also has a mandate he didn't have in 2016 - electoral sweep and the popular vote. There will be very little to stop him doing what he wants to do in his second term. We just have to hope all the doom and gloom isn't real.
I think Trump will push the constitution to its absolute limit. I think he'll try to do things we've never even imagined. There are no guardrails now, he has full immunity and a stacked court. Now it comes down to hoping that he won't go as far as some think. Let's pray that Trump still has some sense of morality left in him.

USA 'democracy' isn't democratic at all. The factors that decide who can show up in elections are based on inheritance and other factors, besides the obvious fact that the US is bi-partisan.
Besides the structure of the system - education is also manipulated by figures of authority, which is reflected in the results of elections like these.

You don’t have to, but sadly an element of understanding is crucial now more than ever as Trumpian politics will still exist even after he is finished with his final term, even when he is dead & buried. Clearly, he is providing a large number of people with the security & validation they had felt they had been lacking for many years - if not always. We have to ask ourselves WHAT, specifically, he provides & HOW, if at all, prior administrations or even just the structure of society & culture in capitalism determined the continuation of this need to the extent that someone like Trump continues to seem like the right choice.
If we don’t at least attempt to ask ourselves these tough questions, I am not sure any of us deserve sympathy at the end of the day.

United States of America you are one strange nation, with a lot of strange people in it. A nation talking a lot about freedom and democracy, but in the meantime scoring worse on freedom and democracy then most other countries. Where 40% of the electorate doesn't even bother to vote because they only can choose between far right and light right. A nation with the most wealth in the world, but the worst distribution of wealth, homeless and personal debts. A nation with the best health care but the worst access to health care. A nation with more incarcerated people then the rest of the civilized world, but more people being killed by firearms as well.

Have you watched what’s been happening the last 10 years? The US is not dominating in any way, shape, or form. Not economically, not in education, not in health, nothing. Our military has the most technologically advanced gadgets. FOR NOW. China is quickly catching up. And that’s only because we drain other federal budgeting funds to funnel into our weapons development programs. To include Active Duty and Veteran benefits and care, as well as pay. We have an all volunteer military lol. That’s not going to fare well. So either our military will continue to struggle to recruit, or we go back to a mandatory conscription and draft. Like Israel and China. Countries have been destabilizing at a rapid rate, no longer fearing the repercussions of “big brother”/self appointed “world police” USA. Israel, Russia, Myanmar, etc. It’s literally just the beginning. The US’s biggest asset was world deference, after WW2. That will be no longer. This shitshow was years in the making. Pride, like this-is a big reason.

To the American people who would always talk about russians being blind to the actions of their leader putin, or those who would always wonder how was it possible for hitler to win in Germany, you've just learned your answers to both of these questions. All of these instances have crucial things in common with you electing Trump, a deeply narcisstic guy with a lot of charisma, who promises to have a seemingly easy solution to every single problem that youre facing, and always points at a certain element of the society as the cause of all of them (Trump -> Immigrants to the US | Hitler -> Jews, Roma | Putin -> Alleged "Chechen" terrorists (whose acts were actually commited by the FSB (the russian FBI)). When it comes to Trump (or people like him in the past), it doesn't come to right vs left, or conservative vs liberal, or catholic vs atheist anymore, it purely comes to HIM and HIS power and narcissism. A majority of American voters have failed to identify the traits characteristic to Donald Trump, which allign with the traits of historical figures who should have never gotten to any sort of positions of power, objectively speaking. A country this influential and wealthy should really be able to do better in terms of educating it's population about what distinguishes dangerous individuals like this, and where these people lead a country, and the entire world as a matter of fact, as each of the forementioned individuals (not trump yet) have caused a terrible havoc on the entire globe. You wont be able to escape the responsibility for what he is going to do, you voted for it.

In relation to comparing Trump to Hitler or Lenin/Stalin, in all cases the population voted these people in as they had lost all faith in the governments that had ruled. Lenin abolished a monarchy that had abused power for centuries, only to become a dictator. Hitler led a war torn Germany from a government that had bent the knee to Europe and lost all power. The dems that flipped their vote for Trump have a deep distrust in a Democratic party that is being run like a mafia with Pelosi's, Clintons, Kerry's, Kennedy's and Schumers at the helm. Trump used that distrust to his advantage. Basically, the democrats through sheer short-sightedness and arrogance have led their party into dystopia, the fact that Americans were willing to vote in a convicted felon just to counter it shows just how bad the situation has become. Dems need to clean house and build from scratch if they ever want the trust of the American people again.

It all starts with each individual: individual rights, individual merit, and autonomy. Then the family, doing what you can to get your house in order. Then your community and the people around you. Then your state and the problems close to you that you can directly help influence. Last but not necessarily least are broader social issues, which are much easier to manage when you’re working with strong people, households, communities, and states.

Yes, tariffs were indeed one of the driving factors of the Great Depression. The most notable tariff was the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act of 1930, which was initially intended to protect American businesses and agriculture from foreign competition by raising tariffs on thousands of imported goods. However, this backfired significantly:
Retaliatory Tariffs: Other countries imposed their own tariffs in response, leading to a sharp decline in international trade. This hurt American exporters and contributed to a decrease in global demand, worsening the economic downturn.
Reduced Global Trade: International trade is vital to economic growth, and these trade restrictions caused a significant reduction in global commerce, aggravating the economic crisis worldwide.
Economic Isolation: The tariffs isolated the U.S. economy, causing domestic prices to rise and leading to inefficiencies as American consumers and businesses faced higher costs for goods.

They think they voted for Trump, but with his mental degeneration into Alzheimers which has been noticeable day by day, they will get Vance within a short time. All that you mentioned I am extremely concerned about also. The budget Biden made this year is for next year, so Ukraine will get what was promised, if Trump doesn't stop it like he did before.
