The way the dogs are cared for and trained is actually pretty similar to dog fighting. over breeding, chains, barrels, slat mills. Same as a sled dog kennel. They literally look and operate almost the same. Mushing is cool, but dog racing is a separate thing. Regulated racing was set up to ensure some level of safety for the jockeys, horses, and attendees. Who cares if this racing isn't taxed, (the government would be in no better shape even with whatever minuscule amount of money they could get from this) the main problem is that violence and other illegal activities, completely separate from racing, come about as result of it. It would be a completely different story if these people were just innocently, correctly, and safely racing their horses for shits and giggles.
