Plus, isn't equestrianism all about harmony between horse and man? The racing industry isn't the only place where mechanism is evolving: our entire world is being shaped by machines. So I'm not surprised. But horsemanship dates back to the oldest of times, and racing does too, and they never needed machines. Our horses have fared well underneath jockeys. Let's not forsake the beautiful harmony for machines! Sure, machines like cars and such have done us some good, but I do not see why the racing industry needs them, too. It just doesn't. Leave our horses, jockeys, horsemen, our sport, and our old harmonic ways alone!
Yeah cars have done some good but I'd say it's outweighed by all the roadkill and pollution and greenhouse effects not to mention all the work needed and resources taken on building more advanced roads for the metal behemoths.
It's not clear what they're trying to accomplish here. If the goal is to gradually introduce the horse to racing while going easy on the legs, wouldn't it be better to break them to harness with a lot of slow miles around the track to build up stamina? You'd still have the human interface--voice and lines--in this case. But the slow approach--machine or jog cart--is quite a departure from current racing theory which involves pent up energy and a quick release from the gate. I think the idea has merit and should be seriously considered.
I think the racing industry think we're all idiots. This is literally the dumbest thing ever. Even though I hate racing, it is much safer for a jockey to gallop them. This is not the future, this is frickin dumb.
That is the worst thing I’ve EVER seen! A horse can easily trip and get hurt, yes they can stop it, but horses at full gallop need to be slowed. So a horse will be dragged around for a while. And a jockey can tell when a horse is tired, a machine can’t. This is a new low for the industry, and they’re already down there. People need to open their eyes and end this all together
Obviously every horse has the same physiological and same training needs that's why it can be done with a machine!what a way to further the horse slave industry.
OH I get it they just want to save money instead of hiring a jokey which would know if something is wrong THESE HOD DAMN IDIOTS AND HORSE ABUSERS makes me sick ( if ppl in horse racing industry treated horses better then I would be ok with them but never ever ever this horse dragging device)
To everyone who commented in regards to “what if the horse falls the machine will just drag them” . Do you think that with all the $ they spent on this machine that they didn’t install every and all safety features. I’m sure the first thing the addressed was what if the horse were to fall. Do you think the owner or trainer do a multi million dollar horse would put it in a unsafe machine. This is just a tool to condition the horse without having to carry the Weight of a jockey. It also controls their speed so you don’t have to deal with a runaway horse on the track which is very common especially with young horses. Common Sense
this is bullshit. if a horse trips, either it stops dead in its tracks and all the horses slam and get injured or it slowly stops as the horse is dragged.
I saw this being constructed in 2015 I think as I had to collect a tractor that they had hired from the company I was working for I had no idea what it was they where constructing until I spoke with the on site manager .
It doesn't help that horses aren't fully grown until they're about four years old so when you start training at two years old you're the ones doing more harm than good
Are you stupid, you don’t train race horses over hills with rocks. That’s a sure way to injure your horse. A large number of these horses are worth more than your house.
This is so unsafe for the horses. But it just goes to show that all they care about is making a profit of the horses and only see them as a machine. No horsemanship or care what so ever.
Screw the people that made that if a horse brakes there leg then what they get dragged people are so thirsty for money they don't think about the horses that they could hurt the horses could hurt themselves and then they will be dragged and could possibly be dragged clear until they stop the machines then the horse has to be put down some jockeys have their horses slaughtered I mean that I would love to have a retired racehorse and that would make much more sense than to kill them they could sell them or something. I say stop horse abuse like search up the big lick then watch the pain the horses have to go through because of the things man have done to them they are like humans they have feelings and thoughts and other things I wish that horse abuse was no more and that the horses would stop being slaughtered because they can't race anymore and I think that is enough to explain how stupid these people are because they are just being lazy if you ask me I would take all thoughts horses and they could be used as trail horses if they are old, used, and retired racehorse I would take every single one and no horse deserves to die at a young age how would you like to die at a young age. Have you ever thought about how the horses feel, oh wait they are only in it for the money and nothing else, I would do it for fun instead of the money. Money can make people not care about anything else just the money. I say stop animal abuse and search up Tennessee Walking Horse the big lick watch the pain that they have to go through just to satisfy their owners now that's sad because their owners put oils and other things right above their hoof then every step is pain that's why the do that and the owners only are in it for the money. I want you to think if you where a Tennessee Walking Horse how would you feel for every step that you take pain runs through out your whole leg, so when you see a person beating their horse tell them this "how would you feel if you where the horse and the horse was you and beating you how would you feel." Horse have feelings to you know they are not just animals that think that every move has to be controlled by the owner the horse dose all the fancy work we do some of the work and that's all we need to atop horse abuse. I say stop the horse abuse and any animal abuse just stop and think how the animal feels, just stop and think, if you're beating it then imagine how you would feel if you where getting beaten that animal may look fine but their somewhere in his/her life there has been abuse and that horse or animal could be scared for life so stop and think how would you feel, mast stop the abuse

But it makes me very sad with all of this
What if a horse trips and breaks a leg? Which is likely considering how tiny their legs are, they’re still developing their bones since they aren’t even 3, and there’s a bunch of horses strapped to a huge machine? It’s going to be dragged at a full gallop until the machine stops. Idiots.
just seems kinda pointless. Why not just give them each a rider and create jobs in the process? Everyone is so reliant on technology and things like this only make it worse. Do we really want to live in a world where machinery is taking over all our jobs? Even the look on the lady's face at 2:04 is like "wtf is this nonsense can I just saddle up already?"

The main selling point of that machine is not saving the horses but saving money. That uniform type of training is asking a horse with ailments to keep up with a horse with less ailments or none. That guy at the control sounds like a robot
How do you stop it immediately if a horse falls? not one question was asked no shown, show me how this is safe. but if all fails you can still use this as an amusement ride to pay for itself if you set up seats.
I don’t think they spent twenty million Pounds without taking in consideration the possibility of tripping like people say, it wouldn’t make sense putting your pricy horse in a machine that could injure it, they know what they’re doing, there’s even a worker every two horses to check on them, the machine also has walk and canter mode not just gallop, and the last wagon is a cabin with a monitor, there are cameras on each couple; besides this system allows the yearling’s developing bones to strenghten without carrying the weight of a rider, it was designed to avoid young horses being pushed too hard. At least go read about how it works before judging.
Yeah, we notice every year the number of horses injured that need to be euthanized. If safety was paramount the breeding for speed wouldn’t trump soundness and the need for decent feet. Some of the worst in the horse industry.
For anyone sayings it mean you also must think a horse walker is a horrid contraption because thats all it is, its fine if you dont like either however its just a walker that can take more horses and go faster. if a horse on a walker falls the walker doesn't stop and neither will this so if you don't like one you cant like either. I think its a very good idea, will keep lots of horses fit at the same time and will be brilliant for desensitisation. Just because it can go 30mph (galloping) doesn't mean it will and likely hood is when it does there wont be many horses on it. Doesn't even look like the machine would actually allow a gallop as there isn't much room for extension of the hind or neck considering the head is tied and there is a support at the hind quarters. There is no galloping in this video fyi just canter/extended canter that is collected and calm surprisingly.
Disgusting . I hope one doesn't break down while hooked up.there joints aren't fused till four years old.there mental state is not mature till four. Horses are treated individually as they all have different requirements. This is cruel and unnecessary bullshit.stop letting robots take jobs !!!!
that's horrible! The horse could trip and be dragged. And if they have a rider, they will be able to tell when the horse is tiring, but a machine will not. Ultimately, a machine will not be on the back of the horse during a race, a jockey will be there and the horse won't be ready for that. You're taking horse racing hatred to a new level.

Agreed!!
I think the racing industry think we're all idiots. This is literally the dumbest thing ever. Even though I hate racing, it is much safer for a jockey to gallop them. This is not the future, this is frickin dumb.
Ruining horse training and removing the talent it takes to be able to train a horse
How is that even legal?
how are u legal?
That is the worst thing I’ve EVER seen! A horse can easily trip and get hurt, yes they can stop it, but horses at full gallop need to be slowed. So a horse will be dragged around for a while. And a jockey can tell when a horse is tired, a machine can’t. This is a new low for the industry, and they’re already down there. People need to open their eyes and end this all together
can this machine identified these horses are lame or sound what a animal cruelty...WORDS...
That’s what the humans are there for. Stupidity
All that will com out of my mouth is the word sickening
If this becomes more safe, then sure go ahead. BUT right now it’s not safe, if it trips, if the rope gets caught, or just simply the machine glitch’s
Obviously every horse has the same physiological and same training needs that's why it can be done with a machine!what a way to further the horse slave industry.
all different and mentally
You're a 🤡
I agree this is a stupid idea a horse could get injured or die. What is happening to our world people are just not thinking about our horses safety.
Just keep treating horses like machines that’s great 🙄 also how are you supposed to feel if something is wrong in the horse if no one’s riding it?
This is awful what if a horse trips what if they run out of breath YOUR NOT EDUCATED ENOUGH TO WORK WITH HORSES
This instrument looks like a rollercoaster
I saw this being constructed in 2015 I think as I had to collect a tractor that they had hired from the company I was working for I had no idea what it was they where constructing until I spoke with the on site manager .
Did anything ever come of this Kurtsystem? I can't find anything newer than 2017, was hoping it would fail, honestly
It doesn't help that horses aren't fully grown until they're about four years old so when you start training at two years old you're the ones doing more harm than good

Stop abusing animals for entertainment and sport!!!
What?
totally agree with you
What a nightmare, bio-industry for the most basic sport of horseriding.
I don’t think this is safe...
As a lifelong equestrian, this does not sit well with me at all. One horse goes down an then they’re all traumatized for life, and we all know what happens to race horses that don’t perform. Disgusting idea and a product of late capitalistic greed.
What happens to racehorses that don't perform? You should know, you're a, "lifelong equestrian". Many of those horses you ride just might've come from the track.
@@meganproffitt424 Yeah, the ones that don’t get sold in batches to feedlots with tattoos burned or cut out. Or sent live to slaughter for European and Japanese markets.
Wtf 😒 the racing industry should be banned. Disgusting how many horses get discharged for slaughter each year 🤬
What if a horse can't keep up with the speed that the machine goes? I don't agree with this
Did they actually just say that this would improve the welfare for young horses? I'm sorry but these are clearly yearlings that's basically like forcing your toddler to run until you ask them to stop. Are you that greedy for money that you can't even wait for the horses bones to develope, even then, this machine is a total disgrace I'm surprised even the racing industry which is full of abuse went this far. Disgusting.
Mankinds identification with mind has allowed the mind to become the master of us. That's how we are able to exploit other life and destroy our planet. Remember Wisdom?
What a cruel practice ,all for the greed go trainers breeders and owners ,I bet half of these horses end up at the slaughterhouse
viv coombe that’s exactly where many of them go. We have so many rescues at our farm that were race horses that were or are in terrible condition. So many skinny and one with its back legs where the fetlock is flat and can touch the ground. She should be put down but the owner is stupid and thinks she’ll get better. But it makes me very sad with all of this
@@ezmazethings7158 Suspensory ligament injury. Too bad. The Tennessee Walker padded shows are emulating the racing industry, apparently.
The horse taco industry sucks and kills horses....I will not go further than that bc it covers it all
What if a horse trips and breaks a leg? Which is likely considering how tiny their legs are, they’re still developing their bones since they aren’t even 3, and there’s a bunch of horses strapped to a huge machine? It’s going to be dragged at a full gallop until the machine stops. Idiots.
just seems kinda pointless. Why not just give them each a rider and create jobs in the process? Everyone is so reliant on technology and things like this only make it worse. Do we really want to live in a world where machinery is taking over all our jobs? Even the look on the lady's face at 2:04 is like "wtf is this nonsense can I just saddle up already?"
No stop. Stops joker's hurting YOUNG horses. Young as in don't do this
Do i even care about the human race anymore......
I don't but I do know something has to change thats why I do care enough about the animals to get rid of all the animals suffering and abuse at the hands of Homo Sapien Wise Man I don't think we're wise at all to be honest and I think we should all try and address that and start changing the planet for the better not for worse so we can all enjoy life on this planet a whole lot more
Complete loss of Jockey/Horse synergy.
The smartest person in this thread. And it was simply common sense. What does that say about everybody else. Unfortunately that’s very sad.
However, if one of the horses stumbles, it will be dragged along the ground and they will not be able to stop the other running horses as quickly
Yeah, we notice every year the number of horses injured that need to be euthanized. If safety was paramount the breeding for speed wouldn’t trump soundness and the need for decent feet. Some of the worst in the horse industry.
Das ist doch Krank.
Walker, jogger. Big difference. Speed does matter.
Also, supposedly only for training. Once someone purchases it, the manufacturer won’t have any control what it’s used for.
It hurts to watch this😩
Disgusting . I hope one doesn't break down while hooked up.there joints aren't fused till four years old.there mental state is not mature till four. Horses are treated individually as they all have different requirements. This is cruel and unnecessary bullshit.stop letting robots take jobs !!!!
Surprized it wasn't built in Newmarket where the majority of young flat horses are trained.
omg u can tell they hate it
Remove human error, like what you’re just making it worse like what if one of them trips break his leg or his neck and it dragged
anyone have footage of a horse tripping and falling while at a gallop while tied to this thing?
What the hell. That looks terrifying for horses.
They should add heart monitors and lung monitors and lifting machines per horse slot incase a horse needs to be lifted incase for a safety check.
that's horrible!
Eventually machines will be on the horse’s back. They’re developing robots for that purpose.
What the hell... 💀 Yeha no, as someone who is quite knowledgable about horseracing.... Some days horses just CAN'T run, they need rest, and it's hard to tell if somethings off if only some random guy sits in the middle of an machine and doesn't pay attention the the horse. Good racehorses come from attention being given to their health. THIS is as step backwards
I’m no where close to an animal rights activist. Or anything to that effect. And I love eating meat lol but what I will say is.... this looks wrong and we are the monsters/aliens we have been looking for all this time. Imagine reverse situation.... a planet of horses just took some humans and put them on a machine to run 😂😂 aghhh well. Life. Nice to be at the top of the food chain and the most “intelligent” I’ll tell you that.
We're is the long term retirement plan for race horses ,no the industry thrives on greed ,shame on you all
Wow! It will be interesting to follow the comprehensive reviews by the Breaking and Training Facilities, training track locations, and rehab centers.

this is awful I hate people who race these horses all the people really care about when racing is the money there just using horses for money!

@@anotherblonde "Horses love to run" Well yeah they do but not at unnatural speeds like 70km/h
@@vomitpod4099 70kph = 43.496mph. Thoroughbreds are bred for speed, most records in UK are done on straight safe grass tracks, not sloppy turning tracks on lasix like in America. It's as safe as they can make it on the flat and over the jumps. There is no feeling like being on a galloping horse.
tina silver Oml i know that thoroughbreds love galloping and stuff but it’s not okay to force a horse to run beyond it’s limits. Racehorses often even bleed from their lungs because of that. Horseracing maybe looks like a cool sport and the horses are treated like royalty in the stables but not on the racetrack. horses are made for Racing ok.
Yep they are , They love runing dont to see them in the field ? ... or are you a city Girl mate ?
Do you seriously think that humans are the ONLY competitive animal on this planet????
In this industry horses are just machines for profit to them. Racing industry doesn’t care if this is good for the horses. What if a horse is in pain? He doesn’t have a chance to stop or let a rider know maybe they would not care anyway.
And if the horse gets hurt while the machine keeps going ?
I'd love to see the sport banned.

REDICULOUS AND STUPID IDEA, the chances of a horse TRIPPING is too High, that horse will then get DRAGGED unless the stupid machine can stop right that second, but then all the other horses will run into the front of each other and ALSO HURT themselves, WHY ARE PEOPLE SO LAZY JUST GET ON THE HORSE AND RIDE IT FOR GOD SAKE!! test it with the Trainers and owners first.
Horrendous. It's like factory farming. An estimated 7000 horses leave racing training every year. Over bred, greed for the sake of trying to breed a winner and hardly any care about the 'waste' product
if a horse falls it can't get back up and u can't just stop 10 horses from galloping i say ban all horse raceing

It's a cool concept, but I think it's just an easier way to mass produce race horses...slightly depressing tbh
What if one of the horses tripped?! 🙀
Also these horses need more care thoroughbreds are like getting skinny I don't like it and I think they should just not use technology and just train them old fashion way and their orbits these days aren't as like elegant and and fast also these days are terrible no one likes their horse one day I saw very thin horse like I am serious no one's taking care of them people do this right no machines control the horse no machines files that horse running with that machine I would put my feet up and just not work I'd be lazy I want to work in the round pen other than that place bye
Wonder what has happened to this training tool.
Some horses wearing oxygen depriving fabric ear muffs. Fabric 'density' 'impervious' deprives heat generated by horse' brain to be released. Very very cruel & ignorant in design & use. I would cut some holes with simple scissor ends to enable heat release. Wear a tight knotted hood of similar poly fabric around your own face & walk for a while generating brain heat & you will quickly realise the resulting inescapable brain heat unable to be released, causes. Intolerable! And desperation to remove that hood quick!
This is stupid what if the horse falls or breaks a leg it won’t stop
Nooooooooo racing is abuse is one horse Trips they get DRAGGED then they probably get killed bec they are going to break a leg
