I just like the idea that some wizard gets fed up with the party's shenanigans, says "screw you guys, I'm taking a nap", then casts Deep Breath and goes into a pond for 4 hours.
A little suggestion: even when the future books will drop do only up to the books that are present right now. Then do some video called "Reviewing EVERY PATHFINDER SPELL - Special - Player Core 2" or whatever book you're looking at in that moment.
our witch (uses witch hair feats to fight with his nose hair) has stated that, unless otherwise stated, he is always placing himself under the effects of bullhorn. We are only level 4, but once it starts to heighten I can see it becoming even _more_ problematic
Dont forget, because Divine Lance does spirit damage it can damage someone possessing your friend without hurting the friend. Its one of the best divine damaging cantrips now.
I love the idea that all spell casters are just super bad at approximating stuff so they need a spell. Even a level 20 wizard will be just okay at it (considering their might). The wizard might be able to spawn a meteor, but is still 20 gold coins off when approximating 180 coins lol.
Approximate has a great flavor synergy with the math psychic. Math stuff appears in front of your character as you aproximate it! Edit: The precise discipline one!
Imagine how annoying it could be living in Golarion, where some people in cities can project their sales pitch using Bullhorn cantrip, many times a day.
Not to get ahead of ourselves here, but it'd be great to see you do this with alchemical items too! Would only appeal to the alchemist players out there, perhaps, but I'd love to see it.
Nonat. We've been though thos song and dance before and you left me alone on the damce floor. I'm not sure if i can trust you.... About detect magic, i feel like it's good to mention detect magic main usage. Using it during exploration.
I noticed that you got the interaction between detect metal and illusions backwards: if you read the text, it says that you cannot detect metal hidden from an illusion of equal rank or higher, but you can always know if an illusory metal object does not actually contain any metal. So in your example, you can always recognize a club that looks like a sword (or at least know it's not made out of metal), but you can't detect a sword disguised as a club if the illusion is strong enough. At least, that's how I'm reading it edit: Btw, cool video, good luck reviewing all spells
don’t be afraid to take breaks from five videos a week!! we want you to be having fun making videos, so if you’re not, then we can go without videos for a week
Note that Daze always had a basic will save included, so there was a chance your 4 damage could be halve or negated, or if you're lucky it could be doubled!
I know a lot of TH-camrs use those red and black sound dampening tiles, but every time I see them I always think of Tommy from Black Dragon Gaming. Has anyone heard if he's ok? He hasn't uploading anything in a while.
I made an Oracle in the earlier pre remaster and divine lance was a spell I couldn't take because the character didn't have a god with an alignment. So glad to see I can remake him and take advantage of it.
As a new player to pathfinder who decided on Wizard as my first class I really appreciate a series like this. I spent a long time looking through the spell list trying to determine what spells would be useful but I don’t really have a frame of reference.
the great thing with Approximate is that my Jiangshi-born monk gets the ''Eye for Numbers'' feat, which basically lets him...do this. It's great. This exceptionally creepy monk assassin occasionally will just glance at a crowd and shout out a number. Great party trick when he's not doing something morbid.
Divine Lance had SUCH a big glowup! I'm taking Adapted Cantrip on my next character (Human Wizard) specifically to nab it xP Range went from 30 to 60, it's not alignment-dependant anymore (Pharasmites rejoice!), and Spirit damage has FULL effect on incorporeal targets, AND you can use zap enemies possessing someone without harming the host! 👀
When we talk about awesome spells, cantrips are the bread and butter of every spellcaster. My favorite non-heightened spell rank 1 is by far Sure/True Strike.
Daze is an underestimated spell IMHO. That's because it has a detail, which make this cantrip(!) unique. It's the only offensive cantrip with a will save. And since attacking the weak spot of an enemy is a strong side of spellcasters, this cantrip with it's will save and the mental damage is a good addition for a team of adventurers. Even if the numbers aren't the best.
One of my player was badly infected by a Yellow Musk Creeper, I described the player looking like he just had a lobotomy and described little flowers starting to creep out of his nose and ears. The Druid of the group grabbed the flower and cast Draw Moisture... I was like... he's cured, that was fucking awesome. Take that Hero Point. Great moment of the game.
The Knight of Last Call took 27 videos and approx. 86 hours to Tier Rank all of the spells two years ago. They missed some, because as you said Pathfinder kept publishing more material... so I don't know what % they actually covered. Good Luck!
Really great video. When you do the next ones can u put a rating next to it like s through f tier for how universally good it is? Like electric ark being an S tier for example.
Caustic Blast scales "poorly" compared to single-target spells. It's an area spell and if you're hitting 2 or more targets with it at a time, it'll scale just fine. Daze scales poorly only because it has a really strong crit fail result, so they balanced the damage around the condition potential.
If bullhorn works even if you whisper so the whisper is heard clearly over that distance, I'd pull a voldemort in deathly hallows and whisper threats or creepy shit to everyone at once
@@JacksonOwex No, because 5e’s Magic Weapon only gives a +1 to weapons and makes them magical while also taking up a 2nd level slot plus concentration. Nobody ever uses that spell
Skipping AP spells? But then you don’t get to review Inside Ropes: the occult cantrip where you pull out your intestines to use as ropes. Plus it would give these spells more of a spotlight as they’re generally overlooked.
I really wish that Pathfinder would separate magic into combat magic and non-combat magic instead of putting them together in the same system of cantrips, spell slots, and focus points.
Detect Magic is still better implemented here then 5th edition, since that's a Ritual Spell that takes 10 minutes to cast... so its utterly useless in pressing situations and in general drags down the game every time people ask if they should cast it or not.
It's funny that this video opens with Approximate, my absolute least favourite spell in Pathfinder 2e, and a perfect encapsulation of why I hate the magic design in this system. Approximate is a trap option. It is a game-knowledge test intended to make new players use one of their *extremely limited* Cantrips Known on a useless pile of flavour text over something actually useful. This cantrip is an excellent piece of flavour text that does not need to exist as an actual spell, the Paizo cares infinitely more about flavour text than they do an actually cohesive low-level play experience: selling flavour text is, in fact, their business model, even if they're not particularly good at it most of the time.
Draw Moisture....at sea.
Draw up a huge bucket of sea water. Cast Draw Moisture, separating the water from the salt, gaining both resources.
I just like the idea that some wizard gets fed up with the party's shenanigans, says "screw you guys, I'm taking a nap", then casts Deep Breath and goes into a pond for 4 hours.
OMG! They unalived themselves! 😢 (Gossiping with the fish with Speak with Animals).
Kinda surprised to see this before player core 2
Good chance to do another video for the player core 2 spells!
Felt the same about the bard video bc of new howl of the wild stuff
Still love every vid do c:

That sounds fucking amazing lmfao
"How many worms is there in this one foot earth cube?" - a druid, probably
"About one cubic foot of worm:
- GM, probably.

Me: Oh oh no, this is gonna hurt

Nonats back! Thank for all the outstanding PF2e content you have put out over the years. You made a huge contribution to my learning the system.
Imagine how annoying it could be living in Golarion, where some people in cities can project their sales pitch using Bullhorn cantrip, many times a day.
I'd like to think that Absalom has restrictions on the Bullhorn cantrip in particular 😂
Not to get ahead of ourselves here, but it'd be great to see you do this with alchemical items too! Would only appeal to the alchemist players out there, perhaps, but I'd love to see it.

I'm not sure if i can trust you....
About detect magic, i feel like it's good to mention detect magic main usage. Using it during exploration.
As much as i appreciate the commitment to so much content, please do not overdo it and get burnt out, i prefer my nonat alive
This game needs a detect cake spell that tells you if there's cake or hidden cake in your vicinity.
there is no cake.
the cake is a lie.

Draw moisture will also make those humid areas more bearable as well.
I think a rather scientific or precise character might actually dislike Approximate :P
I've waited for this for so long
As a new player to pathfinder who decided on Wizard as my first class I really appreciate a series like this. I spent a long time looking through the spell list trying to determine what spells would be useful but I don’t really have a frame of reference.
Oh god We are not even 30% percent of cantrips, Pathfinder is so dense i love it
As someone who has been making pathfinder 2e characters for over a year now but has yet to play 2e I can’t wait for this series
Man, when you're on, you're a machine. This is some ambition right here.
Did he take the Ambition domain while he was away or something? :P
"Please sir can I have some more?" Glad to see a smile on your face again, I hope you have been doing better!
Careful doing stuff like this! This is one of the things that burned you out before!!!
WOOOOO NONATTTTT :DDD!!
I start my first ever pathfinder campaign tomorrow and your videos have got me so incredibly hyped for it :))
(Also First!)
The absolutely daunting premise of committing the next 2 years to assessing EVERY spell is wild. I'm so hyped lol

Loving the new series. I hope you see it through
loving the content nonat
Love that you doing pf2 again
Wouldn't this video be better made after player book 2? or will there not be new spell in it?
When we talk about awesome spells, cantrips are the bread and butter of every spellcaster. My favorite non-heightened spell rank 1 is by far Sure/True Strike.
Merchant uses approximate to detect counterfeit coins?
Yeah. Now I have to clip that. 😉
5 videos a week? Wow! I really hope you remember to dial iy back if you need to avoid burn out.
So the Druid can approximate how many frogs are in that square? Neat.
Thanks! Looking forward to the next segment!

Great to see you back doing pf2e content, Nonat
thank you for doing this! much appreciated truly

Glad to see you cooking again, man!
Approximate is'nt a spell! Its an educated guess!! lol
2:56 AP spells ARE "official" and I would at least say they are pretty "mainline"!
How do you make a series that covers all Pathfinder spells? One video at a time!
If bullhorn works even if you whisper so the whisper is heard clearly over that distance, I'd pull a voldemort in deathly hallows and whisper threats or creepy shit to everyone at once
Your audio is better with this one. Maybe you were too far from the mic last time. Enjoying our PNW weather? This is a great place to live.
I wish dungeons and dragons 5e had its own version of "runic weapon" and "runic body", that way I could have more fun playing a bladesinger
Isn't the 5E, and previous version of "Runic Weapon" just "Magic Weapon"?
@@JacksonOwex It is and it sucks because it's a Concentration spell
@@JacksonOwex No, because 5e’s Magic Weapon only gives a +1 to weapons and makes them magical while also taking up a 2nd level slot plus concentration. Nobody ever uses that spell
I can see an evil character using "Draw Moisture" on a PC to cause dehydration.
We need more!
I like the video card picture
So if I cast detect metal on my buddy with a high enough spell rank, would it tell me "Symphonic Black Metal"?
Good stuff!
good work!
ARE YOU INSANE?? EVERY SPELL????
Are you mad, man?
Joking aside, that's a LOT of spells to review, and the list is only going to grow in the next few months. Best of luck?
Let's do this!!
I love his videos!!!!
Ill take any pathfinder content i can get, im a fiend for it to listen to at work
5 videos a week?! Please remember to take care of yourself dude >_
We are so back, bois
Skipping AP spells? But then you don’t get to review Inside Ropes: the occult cantrip where you pull out your intestines to use as ropes.
Plus it would give these spells more of a spotlight as they’re generally overlooked.
Just fmi, how often do you accidentally introduce yourself as Nonat to ppl offline?
5 videos a week? I hope you arent burning yourself out again.
I really wish that Pathfinder would separate magic into combat magic and non-combat magic instead of putting them together in the same system of cantrips, spell slots, and focus points.
more pls
Let’s no lvl.0s!!!!
Don't hurt yourself.
Really glad about divin lance finally being globally usefull. Loved the concept of it but really wasn't a fan of the system
Neat

20 minutes of reading off poorly understood spells brought to you by a scammer. Bravo.
Having to fast forward a video for 5 minuta before content is crazy :(
It's funny that this video opens with Approximate, my absolute least favourite spell in Pathfinder 2e, and a perfect encapsulation of why I hate the magic design in this system.

So quiet, where are the subtitles?
