    Goodness I really wish I’d found this video 10 hours ago.
    I have spent today learning threading for cover stitch
    Can you believe it took over an hour to learn how to get the thread into the little silver guide at the back of the machines- it’s easy once you know how!
    This video was great with clear, calm and thorough instructions and visuals
    Thank you so much

    Thank you! I have watched some of your other videos but not anything on the cover stitch until today. I need to shorten and hem some knit pants and thought it's time to use the cover stitch. I looked at the guide but it is hard to see the threading path. Your video showed me just how I had to thread for the cover stitch. Can't thank you enough Gail. I hope you realize how much your help means to so many.

    Phenomenal!! Thank you! This is the best, most clear video I've been able to find instructing us how to thread the Triumph. And thank you for showing ALL 8 of the different possibilities. I would also love a video showing exactly how to set the dials (I know it's on the chart but it would still be helpful to see it in action) for the 8 thread serging. I do lots of tablecloths/napkins, etc. and I would love to see you show the 8 thread serging plus a few variations of the decorative and combo decorative. I'll check your other videos as well. THANK YOU!

Now, i must confess.... we bought a second Triumph. We are making baby clothes and don’t want to be left without a serger when it goes in for service. We also didn’t want to learn new settings on a different serger that will slow down production. These are amazing machines.

    I have one question. I still don’t understand when you are getting ready to thread the needles and you said, “step it back”. Do I take my thread and pull it under the metal area that holds the needles then pull it over the top of the metal arm directly behind/beneath it? I have never been able to see exactly what path the thread is taking. I especially don’t know how to thread the C1 needle. Do I wrap it around the small metal arm on the left of the needle bar? Thank you

    What do you think of the idea of leaving all five needles in the machine, no matter what stitch you are using?

    • @GailPatriceDesign
      @GailPatriceDesign  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Pam, It's not a good idea. Your stitch formation won't always be correct with extra needles inserted. You don't want to poke more holes in your fabric than necessary and you'll wear out the extra needles unnecessarily. Even if they aren't threaded, they're still piercing fabric and dulling the points. (Just what you wanted to hear, right?!) Thanks for watching and let me know if you have more questions!

    • @francesgiacobbe6821
      @francesgiacobbe6821 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gail, your answer to Pam concerning leaving needles in the machine even if they will not. be used makes so much sense! When being shown how to use my Evolve, I was told not to bother removing any needles that are not being used but now I know that info was incorrect! This was an awesome video, very clear although I can see that the process to thread the machine for cover stitch is a bit more complicated than I

    • @GailPatriceDesign
      @GailPatriceDesign  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      MK Buddy Are you asking about the stitch length? It is variable. The fabric thickness and type as well as the look you want all determine stitch length. When in coverstitch mode, I don’t usually have the stitch length shorter than 3.0. A longer length looks better. Tell me what you’re working on and I can be more specific.
