I know she says she has been drawing her whole life, but if you've never drawn, don't let that discourage you!! Let's say you're 25, in 20 years you'll be 45, so if you start drawing now, it may be bad, but if you don't give up, when you're 45 you'll be AMAZING!
Just because you're not young anymore doesn't mean it's too late to learn. It's never too late! Don't feel like there's no point starting to draw because someone is amazing at 16, or started when they were 3. You can be amazing too if you start right now!!

I'm 14 and just started drawing, at first, I got sad whenever I saw some one who was younger than me but better than me, but soon understood that age doesn't matter in art.💙💚(sorry for my bad English):

If you’re that person that wants better tools to draw, really the only tools you need is a pencil and a paper.

Wait, so if giving up is illegal, then continuing is basically the only option. Woah, free will sure is non-existent. Though I guess that depends, because if someone drew for 20 years and they were looking at good sources of inspiration, bases, traces, and confidence, then they would have to give up... But that’s worst case scenario, it would probably never happen. Maybe there’d a 1/1,000,000,000 chance, but who knows.
Also giving up if you don’t enjoy something is not a crime, it’s just hard for most to get by.

Ok this is IMPORTANT. You know the drawing at 3:29? Well I was looking up references and that popped... it's like one of those super good drawings that you find online and the artist is unknown and like super professional. I remember thinking woah that's so good I'll never be able to draw like that.... but here I am seeing how the person who drew that started out exactly like me and everybody else. This gave me so much new hope you don't even know
How’re things looking now? Have you made any improvements, or maybe you quit all together
I'm on the verge of giving up... I used to draw without thinking of anatomy and just draw and draw but now I've learned anatomy everything just feels wrong to me and I can't draw without having to correct the anatomy first. I lost all my imagination because I keep thinking of what I'm doing wrong with anatomy... I started drawing for as long as I can remember and has always been my escape from reality. I stopped drawing when I entered middle school, but I found arts again when I fell into depression after losing my friends. I stopped drawing countless times but when I see arts and videos like this it just motivates me to draw, I hope to never give it up. Art is literally one of the reason I learned to love my life.
I hope you're doing good right now!! Don't give up and if you find yourself demotivated, take breaks, not too long like a year or something but like a week or so, watch art videos and you'll improve drastically. At least it worked for me but don't do this often you won't see major(or somewhat big) improvements

I've been there too, it's still a bit problem even now and i keep working on it.
I used to go back and forth on my drawing cos i felt i drew it wrong. And yeah just like u said, it's really a big hurdle on my improvement.
But we can overcome it, I believe in it! Goodluck! :)
I don't know if you'r still in that phase, but maybe it can help you or other people that are like you. When i started drawing I was creating manga stories, like with story board and everything, that was what i enjoyed the most and was doing it without thinking... Then i learned the proper way of drawing and realise afterwards i couldn't draw storyboards and all that, because I knew now what a manga page was suppose to look like. I felt so bad... Then one day i just screw it and started to draw without thinking even if it would look like a manga page or something, and i created two stories in 2 days, and it felt sooo good! I wasn't even putting clothes on my characters, i just wanted to see them move like they used to do... And it got me out of that creative block that you are right now! So maybe it can do the same with you...Also, taking breaks for a few days or weeks, can help your bain breath and record all the informations he was trying so hard to learn! Hope it helps! :)

For those who keep saying I give up because I don't have any money to buy some cool stuff for art. Then well, Art is what you need to work creative, like some of blank paper and 1 dollars marker you have to turn it to a nice picture, you don't need any fancy stuff to do art, art is creativity so you need to turn cheap stuff looking fancy. It not depend on your tools it is depend on how you creative and how you turn it into artwork.
So true. I remember when we moved to a new place(second day). I was gonna stay the night there and when i wanted to draw something to pass the time(i love drawing btw) i forgot that stuff like pencil and anything used to draw or paint(except paper, the blank papers were already brought there with the documents) still hasn't been brought to the new house so when i looked for some, i found my mom's nail polish. There were three colours(silver for the hair, red for the lips and eyes then there was a purple which i used for part of the eyes and a bit of the clothes). So i used that X'D and then i remember being scolded for using nail polish cuz they are expensive X'D
That is very certainly true! Gosh! You can make sellable work with crayons! It's amazing! It's not about material it's about skill! So keep practicing!

I'm 23 and I just started learning art, from my small experience, I think that approaching art as a study by using books and different tutorials on youtube helps tremendously closing the gap, 3 months ago I couldn't draw a body, now it's like a few years leap in your video, it's an advantage of being an adult, learning is much faster and more efficient, so for everyone starting late, it won't take a decade! Maybe few years only, I'm hoping that after a year or two I will be able to make decent art.
So I'm 13 now and I draw since I can hold a pencil too but I draw Manga since I'm 9 years old and I can say that I improved my skills a lot. Maby because I draw every time...At school, at home everywhere. And my aim is to draw on your skill when I'm 16-17. I know it sonds akward but I try my best and I wont give up ^^. I'm sorry for my english I'm from Germany and only 13 years old ^^''''

If your goal is to draw digital art, then the only solution I can think of is for you to save up money to buy yourself one. In the mean time, you do your art on paper, so that when you get a tablet, your skills will have already improved a lot.
I'm already using a tablet but just with finger
chaimae san Oh, then you're already one step up since it's also digital. ;) By the way, you can get a stylus pen for your tablet so you don't have to use your finger. :)

It's never too late to start. Because without starting and trying, you would never get the skill. Dont give up, I'm looking forward that one day I'd see you in canvas, be it in 5 years or anytime, because I'm not gonna stop reading webtoon forever hehe

*MY STORY* _with a little message_
I started drawing when I was 10, now I'm 14.
By the end 2014 I started reading Warrior Cats. The books really inspired me to draw cats, because I really liked all the fan arts I saw on the internet. Everyone laughed at me because my first drawings were horrible. But I kept drawing and I really improved. Somewhere on the beginning of 2016 I started watching anime and I tried drawing that too. I used the app ibisPaint X on my phone because I really wanted to make speedpaints and stuff like that. At first I used outlines from the internet to practice the style and it really helped. But drawing cats was still my favorite thing. At Christmas 2016 my parents bought me and my sister who is also into drawing a wacom intuos pro and paint tool sai and I used every free second to draw on my computer. But it’s really easy to steal outlines from the internet, so that’s what I did. The people actually started respecting my artworks and that motivated me to keep going. I got really good at drawing anime so I gave up on drawing cats completely. But because I used outlines from the internet I unlearned drawing my own ones. That’s why I got and art block at the first quarter of 2017. I basically gave up on drawing and kinda slipped into slight depression and anxiety. But I got myself together and started drawing again at the beginning of 2018. I'm still trying to get rid of the art block but I'm trying not to give up, but I can’t find any motivation at the moment. Probably because there’s no current obsession that I have right now... Well at least I’m trying!

To people who dont have a lot of time to paint but still want to create beautiful paintings, start watercolors! Yes i admit itd very hard in the beginning but eventually you get better and its super rewarding!!! I have been practicing for 2 years and i can see improvements and i can just come home from school and paint for an hour after completing my homework. It helps relax your mind. Art is great therapy and dont give up on your road to amazing art. Good luck!

I know that feeling aswell I used to look ant drawing from like 22 year olds when I was 8 and I would say *gah my drawings suck* but now I realize how much older they were!! Me too. I also wanna draw in a anime/manga style but I don't think my drawings are good. My main problem is my anatomy, eyes, and hands. I feel like my drawings are horrible but I really really hope that I will get to improve.

Omg, I can't believe I cried at the end lol. This was just so inspirational! I started drawing at a young age too and well... At some point I just gave up. I think I started drawing after when I got a few compliments from some of my friends that got to see one of my previous drawings and started drawing from then. Now I know why I gave up was because I thought I wasn't good enough. I could see a drastic change after I started practicing and learning as much as I could (like anatomy and stuff). Every time I look back at my old drawings, I feel like I could Improve more. You're right! No matter what, don't give up.

seeing this actually gave me hope a little, because i've been tracing head and body proportions since I wasn't good at it and always thought to myself that I won't improve in this way. But then I saw you do the same thing and see the end result of that after a few years made me motivated.

I'll always ( ok not always but ) watch speedarts and I wanna start a draw too but when I go to my Laptop or Tablet Or phone Or paper I always say.. no im awful at drawing and I will never learn so I did it.. but there was something in my heart waht keep saying you can do it! Amateur Mango I started digital art with just a mouse pad thingy (one that is attached to laptop) then a regular mouse then a Wacom tablet but one of the cheaper ones
wow!, love your work, keep going and improving :D. my biggest improvement was these last 4 years. i went to uni and i started learning composition and colouring and i think ive hit a pretty good stage now and im going to focus on drawing with backgrounds and more dynamic poses etc :D (took me till 21 years old to actually get kinda good lol, im excited for the years ahead)
I watched this a few years back,and this is what inspired me to keep practising every day to draw anime or anything else,but now I stopped doing it everyday,but I occasionally practice,and yes I always draw,once last year I had a hard time trying to draw cuz I was kinda bored of it,drawing I mean,then I watched this again and it made me start drawing again and now I constantly draw,either in my head or real life,on paper,this rlly inspired me to get better,and for the past years I've seen lots of improvement,cu I kept all of my old drawing notebooks and sketchbooks

god... I am SO INSPIRED, I used to be very good at drawing when I was 13-15 and then I stopped for a while, (I still wasn't all that good) and I am now 17. YOU have inspired me to pick back up my pencil and start again, because your right, no one starts out great. but with hard work and determination you can be a great artist, and I never realized that. thank you so much for inspiring me to go at it again, I subbed. and great video! hope to see more soon 👏
