Jem MARsh and Philip COStin developed the Marcos. Get it? MAR-COS. However the guest mentioned that. Jem (Jeremy) Marsh was an honorable man. Nearly 13 months into the ownership of my 1969 Marcos 3 Liter V6 (Wood) I blew a valve on the Essex (ex Ford Zodiak) V6 and even though there was no warranty because I was in the US and the Marcos was never sold there. There was no arguing. I simply wrote Jem Marsh and told what what had happened. He responded graciously with an apology and shipped me an entire new engine short block to me in Michigan and paid for it's installation as well. They don't make them like that anymore.

It was designed by Frank Costin, an engineer who as they mentioned had been involved with designing the Mosquito in WWII which was a standout fighter/bomber made of plywood, just like this car was made of at first. I am really surprised they didn't go into more details about him because Costin was a genius and so was his brother Mike Costin who was a co-fouder of Cosworth Engineering! HELLO... they made the Cosworth race car engines? This Marcos car should be worth a bloody fortune and probably will be once people figure out the back story. One day a chap dropped in to stay driving a Volvo Amazon as it happened. He stayed for about a week as l recall but, one moment l do remember is he showed us some plans of a forthcoming car he and his partner were designing. Think you've guessed what it was. Even at the age of nine l could not believe how beautiful the car looked. I even thought it looked better than Uncle Arthur's e-type! The petrol cap looks like it could be from an early XJ6 (obviously fitted at a later date) Someone sussed the rear lights are from a Vauxhall Victor, very well done! This is so different to see compared to some other car you tube channels. Just passionate car guys talking about a cool car no bs. Very refreshing to watch. It warms my heart.

Nice little car on a tight budget! Love the knowledge that Frazer and Jay shared about the history and specs of the car.

In 1978 I got a test ride in an identical blue Marcos with the Volvo engine and wood chassis. The owner did frame up restorations of Mini Coopers in CT which I went to see. The Marcos was gorgeous in and out. Drove well too. Kept my 74 Lotus Europa, but it was a memorable day.

They ran this type of Marcos at Le Mans during the 1960's. Later the more modified Mantula V8 even quite recently...

Such a beautiful car! And a pleasure to watch Jay and Frazer together. The two of them have such good on-screen chemistry, they should present more shows together! Brilliant!

@@tomtalk24 Yes totally! But give him his dues he's a good actor (Leno was totally fooled!)! But no proper 'English' gentleman (with a Scottish name) that I know would be seen dead in a cheap costume suit like that - so phony (and don't even talk about the shoes). The accent is more 'acting school' than real life private school. But hey - that's what many people thing an English gent is. I'm sure he is killer with the women in the US though!? (Although the classy women here in Scotland would just tell him to fu#k off and stick his old crap car up his arse).
