Crazy stuff but had a tad bit of that when we were at Sterling Castle in March of this year when occasional storms would blow through as we were at the castle.
Thanks Kim This was the perfect thing to watch with a sunday morning coffee :D I really enjoyed seeing all of those historical places ( I wanted to go and sit by that lonely bear :D ) they were all so fascinating. Like you said it is amazing how they could build something all those years ago that withstands the weather so well and is still standing now ! It is nice to see you & Ed enjoying yourselves despite the rain. Looking forward to next week already :D Teddy
Now that’s what I call Scottish weather! I enjoyed seeing those old buildings and stones, it’s amazing how they built those things and how people lived in the past. Well done on braving those conditions, looking forward to the next one 👍🏻
A real pleasure Kim, your videos just get better and better. I love travelling back in history with you. I hope you get your own show one day, it will be monumental. Keep up the good work
I've been reading some of Peter May's books set in the Hebrides and had to put visual to his wonderful descriptions. This is wonderful; beautiful, unspoiled and true to Mr. May. Thank you so much for this 🥰
Loved the vlog Kim, looking forward to the next instalment. BTW The sheiling looked like it would be a more comfortable place to spend the night than your tent!
That was unbelievable that the wind stops like that. I thought there was a roof on top, but I'm stunned that it was just a wall stopping that wind. Thanks for the history lesson. I love that part of your vlogs now. Have a safe trip!
Another great vlog Kim, despite the weather. I do like your reference to the "olden days". Can't wait for next weeks episode. Isle of Lewis added to my bucket list.
Very inspiring vlog Kim. Wild & rugged is good because it’s raw and honest! Love it! So interesting to here all the history & the weather just made it more atmospheric 😚
Hi Kim. Glad you enjoyed your trip across to the rock 😊 The mill you went to in Shwabost was just at the bottom of my grandfather's croft in South Shwabost. It was actually built by the Norse invaders who visited Lewis, hence the many Viking related place names. There's a huge amount of history on the island's, BEAUTIFUL beaches and you can pretty much wild camp anywhere for free (so long as you tidy up afterwards) Have you been tonY in and the South West??
Thank you for your local knowledge! I love to hear from people who have connections to the places that I film. Makes everything so much more meaningful. tonY? Im guessing that is a typo ;)
Nice video Kim, under obviously less than ideal conditions. Wow. I keep thinking about the builders - they were master stone masons, that's for sure...Again, thanks for sharing. I look forward to next Sunday.
Hi Kim - Another great video! I love to see the historical sites you go to and the adventure you experience! You may have already done it, but how about introducing us to Ed!! He looks like he is having a great time with you as well!
Sorry Kim but 99% of us wouldn't last 3 days without electricity / hot running water and access to supermarket . Add in outdoor toilet and sphagnum moss for toilet paper...?🙁🙁. Oh ! And no internet / iphones etc..... Better make it 2 days.....?
Hi Kim, the broch was constructed around 200-300BC, so it is thousands, not hundreds of years old.
Cheers,😊
Well done Kim. My mother was born in the village of Sandwick and I spent my summers on Lewis as a schoolboy. Memories and people I will never forget.
Great job adding your sunny personality to light up the miserable weather! Always look forward to your videos!
I'm away over this week, thanks for your photo tips
Nice to watch that from my cozy living room, thanks for the tour Kim.
Crazy stuff but had a tad bit of that when we were at Sterling Castle in March of this year when occasional storms would blow through as we were at the castle.
Well done Kim in difficult weather conditions and well done also to your companian for not sheltering in a warm cafe somewhere, ha ha.
It was tempting but can't beat a bit of wild weather now and again!

Fabulous images Kim. A Sunday morning regular treat. Thanks for posting.
You bring sunshine despite the conditions!
Great vlog Kim and what a fantastic place 👍🤓

Thank you so much Mark! That's very kind of you :)
The sheiling looked really inviting. There was a teddy and teacups, even some knitting. Like the people just nipped out for a minute
It was a lovely find :)
Great video Kim, the awful weather conditions create a dramatic scenery. I´m pretty sure you´ll make the most of that stunning location, goood luck.

It possibly would have been, although there is something comforting and exhilarating about sleeping in a tent in bad weather.

I remember before electricity. Some of those blankets looked a bit familiar too, and the tea tin. My English grandmother had willow pattern crockery.
I love that little stone cottage. I could live there.
It certainly was beautiful.

They sure were Gisele!
Great touristic and stormy vlog :-)
Great video love the history as well.
We're visiting Harris and Lewis for a week in early October. This video really whets the appetite - no pun intended! Thank you for posting!
Hope you have a great time Stephen and get good weather!
Great video, i look, like fantastic place. Thank! Kim.
You're welcome!
Very good and interesting!
Totally amazing!! :-O
I love the wind-to-no-wind transition at 14:29
It was an interesting experience too!
So nice!!!!!
Thnx Kim i love your trip vlog

Great shots enjoyed your photos and your keen eye for good compositions .your hardy too lol
You need one of those camping vans like Thomas Heaton has
That would be the dream!
Hehe, love the scottish weather too 😀 Blue skies are hugely overrated anyway. So boring ☺️
Haha I agree Carlo!
My grandma helped build those north Mills
I guess that little Canon G7X is pretty wel weather sealed. ;-)
Yes! Thank goodness :)
"aliens" haha..just kidding..such a beautiful place
I think you should have stayed in your tent and had a coffee, getting wet is something I don't do...so many things to see when the weather is better..
Getting soaked to the skin is part of the fun! Sometimes in Scotland it rains for weeks on end - you just got to get out and embrace it.
Thank you for yet another inspirational video! 👍
I'm fascinated by your camera/microphone combination, hope you don't mind me asking what you use?
I just use the Canon G7X Mark || with the internal mic. I do have to slightly compress the audio in post processing but all in all - it works well!
@@kimgrantphotography Thank you. Have to say that I'm very impressed with the lack of wind noise considering just how bad the weather was.
very enjoying video windy lady … :-))
Again, another video all about me.
Bit of a strange thing to say
