It's been a while. How are we?
Welockme back to another day out with me and my mates, Adam and Nathan.
So, this was supposed to be a 2 day trip going from Colwyn Bay, north Wales and ending in Swansea, South Wales mostly offroad. But for reasons you'll see in the video, sadly we only ended doing 2/3rds of day one. It wS still a good day but we were bummed out where and how it ended.
We will be back in a few months time to attempt this trip again for sure, we had some fantastic trails and places planned.
Sadly I didn't track this route, I do have the planned route created by Adam, but it needs a few changes, Inpassable lanes ect... So for that reason I wouldn't want anybody to follow the planned routeand get into bother, so you'll have to wait until we re do the trip for the full proper route.

Yeah we have a scream to be fair, a can do attitude and a bit of confidence goes a long way with these big heavy bastard bikes 😆 but we've got each others backs for sure.

@@maxleopoldmun Thanks dude. I'm currently on a pair of Metzeler MC 360's... Not sure I'm feeling them to be honest 😬 a few more rides in different conditions will give me a better idea. Yeah just standard Tubes mate, only ever had 2 punctures in 8.5k miles.
Happy valley is a greasy pig in those conditions. Fab riding fellas.

My jacket is just a cheap water resistant anorak from Craghoppers, which I think is owned by Regata... Basically a cheap Bergaus. It's not a motorcycle jacket, and offers zero in protection, but it is comfy and packs quite small too. Winner 💪 tell your brother I said hello 🤙

@@thecheshireadventurer8392 😂 boss isn't it! It was a tricky little fucker with them hidden ruts, but I love these type of trails... You get a proper sense of adventure, even if we are plodding through a farmers back garden 😆

@@Andyktm990 nice one Andy. Yeah it wasn't the ending we hoped for but it is what it is I guess, it's the trade we're in isn't it 🤷
Yeah, I need more time on them to get a real feel, wet slate and cobbles is a baptism of fire for any tyre 😆 wasn't 100% confident on the front at times, felt a bit floaty... Did feel decent in muddy ruts though, didn't bounce about like most and actually felt like it could climb out on the side wall... Which is good.
@@lewsdirtbikedays nice one. Yeah think most would struggle in those conditions. Think I'm going to give the rear a try. Use a michelin tracker on the front and know how it behaves so reluctant to change that

@@darrenholding1341 🤣 was a bonkers start to the day wasn't it?! You have to laugh don't ya. All part of the fun.
Not sure I'm feeling them yet you know Darren. Was tough conditions here though in all fairness, you won't find a single tyre that's good on wet slate slabs and cobbles 😬 a few more rides in different terrains needed to get a better feel for them... I did feel the front was a bit floaty though, didn't have the most confidence in it at times.
So good to see you back out and about mate, have missed your vids. I could get a sense that you were not fully in your flow state at the start of the video. I reckon it's totally normal to be a bit apprehensive on new and different tyres, I'd be exactly the same. Shame about Adam's bike woes, there will be plenty more days to get back out there 🤞 On a separate note, WTAF is up with Welsh sheep 🤣🤣🤣, they are mad🤪. Irish sheep are far more respectful of man and machine. @@JustaddMuck 😂😂😂 Welsh sheep are mad as fuck mate! They see alot of traffic on these trails too so you'd think theyd be a bit more savvy, I guess they just never learn... I'd imagine fish would act a similar way if they had legs 😆

When my heads feeling a little foggy I listen to some of Alan Watts' speeches and it levels me back out again.. He's like a little beacon for me.

if you're running the 360 front and rear you just need to get use to their predictable movement - i have run them for 10 k now, they like to move so you just need to be happy with that and when you trust them they will not let you down. massive shame about the trip and Ads bike and waiting at the gate for nobody - we have all done it hahaa- -as for the work on H.V it will be ok in time, they fixed the bombhole but how long til some wanker in a v8 rips it up for fun? we shall see
That's it mate, it's a double edged sword, now it's been fixed and has good access, it makes it easier for the 4x's to get up there and screw it all over again... But even more so now the novice drivers can have a go it so easy 😭 maybe I'm having g a selfish perspective of it but I don't want to see it again, how bad it was before.

@@lewsdirtbikedays no lol,as we got below Rhayader damns my mates wheel bearings collapsed. Luckily ET James had some. Then later on he had a puncture 🤦♂️. Plus a detour to Aberystwyth for fish and chips made our camp set up very late. Next morning,rain,midgie bites and another puncture so headed home in the rain. I went back solo Saturday to finish the job around Machynlleth. Ace 😎👍 keep up the great vids,sorry about Ad’s breakages but can’t be helped!
