Gillian Murphy will always be the most elegant Swan Queen in my heart. Her artistry is so very powerful, I feel that she embodied and expressed both Odette and Odile wonderfully and interpersonally. It was a shaping experience fr me as a young girl, I will always wish her every happiness
Gillian Murphy taught a Master class at my old ballet company and she was so kind and amazing!!! I have a Nutcracker signed my her (as she was our guest Sugarplum that year) and she was so wonderful!!!
The Romeo and Juliet except was breathtaking. Her dancing was so exquisitely abandoned - I've never seen it danced like that before. Gosh I wonder is the whole version online, she was incredible! Thank you again and again and again!
Natalia Osipova. She is passionate and sublime. She recently did Giselle and got extraordinary reviews. Once in interview she said she liked to perform modern dance because she could go full out because in classical dance her coaches kept telling her not to go so full out. Thank God that sometimes she dares not to listen to them.
Вгаvisimo! В России все уверены, что в Америке нет балета, не говорят , не показывают . Благодаря интернету я посмотрела эту потрясающую постановку. Я испытала культурологический шок! Высокопрофессиональные танцоры, великолепная постановка.
Is that video of Alessandra recent?? She is an absolute goddess of dance. Unbelievable she's already in her 50's. Not only is her technique true perfection, she moves with unparalleled grace and lightness.
Thank you for posting the videos! A pity that Stella Abrera was never given the opportunity to dance the full-length Swan Lake ballet. The lovely White Swan pas de deux video registration is a painful reminder of a promise that was never fulfilled.
Unfortunately, we can’t compare the current figures with the primas of ten years ago at the ABT. It was a golden era. Figures like Paloma Herrera or Julie Kent...
Misty Copeland is an amazing dancer it literally looks effortless for her like I’m taken out of the fact that it’s a dance and I’m just purely watching it . Also that choreo was phenomenal.
Thanks for the great video, with such well chosen clips! It's criminal that there's so little performance video of Sarah Lane, ABT's most expressive dancer, especially in her extraordinary partnership with Herman Cornejo. They are amazing together on stage!
Omg I just saw a performance last week with her and Cornejo doing Manon and they were amazing!!! I too thought of them as a reminder of the past great partnerships that we don’t see anymore!! There connection is undeniable!!!
Yes, Osipova recently did Giselle with Tissi. I uploaded an excerpt here: th-cam.com/video/YfmKZDUgGf4/w-d-xo.html Osipova also danced Giselle with Camargo earlier this year... th-cam.com/video/6IOfP1A7gX4/w-d-xo.html
This was amazing, thank you! Ethan Stiefel always keeps me enchanted, though! Wonderful to see him with Alessandra Ferri but I can’t pull my eyes from him, literally perfection in my opinion. We’re all different! So lovely. Thank you.
There are plenty of American dancers who are members of European ballet companies but we never see American principals as guest artists. Would be nice if they gave us a chance to see what they can do.
20:47 I LOVE Gillian Murphy. I do. And her turns here are way above par for her generation. But what is WITH the floppy tutu that looks like it's caught Smallpox??
@@kathymyers7279 No you don't. I've seen you comment about her on multiple videos and you never have anything nice to say. It's weird how obsessed you are with her...
Glad you like them - thanks for your comment. Wikipedia and Polina Semionova's official website still list her as an ABT principal, so I thought she was. Thanks for the information, though.
omg seeing misty copeland do Gomes' choreo is incredible. She has such a flawless silouette, she is strong but graceful. She proves that you dont have to look prepubescent, w/willowy(waifish) arms and legs to be a ballet dancer. Ms. copeland knows the perfect balance of athleticism and artistry. brava !!
uuugh sterling baca really dropped the ball when odette does the swoon backward after doing the quasi bow forward... its supposed to look as if he catches her not like his arm is around her before the swoon... instead it loses its spontaneity and feels forced
Good point, although you can see why he might have done that on the second "swoon" because she's recovering from losing her balance after closing to 5th
Correct. They're better. Paris are a bunch of robots. Zero emotion. Royal is saddled with all that pathetic MacMillan choreography with those insipid lifts every fifteen seconds. Of course best of all are NYCB.
Yes, you can....unfortunately. Europe trained ballerinas are really ahead of American trained ballerinas. Schools in the USA still have to work on preparing dancers, not only in technique but in artistry. They really try to do marvels with technique, bu turning like crazy is not the answer to being a better company. You can observe that many lose balance (even if they don't fall down) while doing turns. The épaulment, arms and upper body movement in general are the weak parts of them. Instead, Europe trained dancers excel in technique, have got magnificent presence on stage and dance with really exact musicality.
artistNexile lol yeah and those ones probably trained in Russia. Most American ballerinas now go to Russia to train because the technique there is sharper and requires more discipline and control
I didn't know that they were going to Russia to get training. Let's hope that the United States will get Russian trained teachers for the main schools.
I believe the difference is mostly due to the different lighting styles between Russia and US. For some reason US lights their stages up in a way that generates shadows that emphasize every muscle. I guess it creates more “drama”. Compare it to Russian stage lighting which is very bright and filled... there’s virtually no shadows. Even in “dark scenes” the stage is completely filled, minimizing the shadows. Yes it’s true, US accepts more diverse body types but ANYBODY thats on releve as much as a ballerinas do are going to have extremely defined calf muscles. They need those calf muscles!
Annabella Escobar It’s vise verse as well dancers travel everywhere to either perform or get training. There are only a select handful of American dancers in Russian ballet companies or Russian trained. A handful of Russian , Latin American , and Asian dancers come over here because they like the personal aspect of American dance and its individuality.

I totally agree with you🙏
Gillian Murphy taught a Master class at my old ballet company and she was so kind and amazing!!! I have a Nutcracker signed my her (as she was our guest Sugarplum that year) and she was so wonderful!!!
What a great tape. Beautifully put together. So much wonderful dancing. Isabella Boylston's grand jetes were so beautiful.
Thank you so much, Brenda!
Alessandra Ferri takes your breath away --- what an exquisite image of beauty and artistry.
I find myself enjoying Misty Copeland's modern pieces a lot more than her classical pieces
Same here
She's not good at classical ballet, no hate tho, just saying
I think many of us agree with that
True.
My thoughts exactly!
The Romeo and Juliet except was breathtaking. Her dancing was so exquisitely abandoned - I've never seen it danced like that before. Gosh I wonder is the whole version online, she was incredible! Thank you again and again and again!
It's a great pleasure. Thanks for your lovely comment!
Osipova is that rarity: a dancer of genius.
Osipova is on another level. She's breathtaking. The audience must have been ecstatic to see dancing like that.
Natalia Osipova. She is passionate and sublime. She recently did Giselle and got extraordinary reviews. It's macmillan's version. Which is better than Nureyev's, imo. There's a lot of full versions online. Although not of these 2.
Loved all these ballerinas specially Isabella, Natalia, Paulina, Hee Seo, Alexandra, Jillian,
It is a joy to watch Stella Abrera and all the other very talented dancers on this video 🌺
hee seo is so beautiful
Osipova is such a breathtaking Juliet!

No, it is a video from several years ago. Thank you for your lovely comment.

It's a pleasure. Thank you for your comment. I hope Abrera will be given the opportunity in the future! She is an exquisite ballerina.

Ferri is timeless poetry
Isabella Boylston has incredible musicality but I wish they had not slowed down the music so much
My fevorits are Ferri and Semionova in her exciting golden suit!
Sara Lane’s arms, shoulders, neck and head are pure elegance. A truly beautiful length and poise, at 17!
Love them all but Isabella is my favorite
Alessandra Ferri is so exquisite...
My favorite dance company
I particularly enjoyed The Dream. Ethan's partnering was amazing.
Misty Copeland excuted her solo beautifully👏🏽😭
Ikr
I love this series youre doing
Thank you. Glad you're enjoying it :)
They make the stage so dark in Romeo and Juliet. Way too dark. But the dancing is so very spectacular. Osipova is so incredible.
Breathtaking
Don’t ask me why but I have slight (not so slight actually pretty large) obsession with Isabella and Gillian
Stellas arms are so fluid wow
There are plenty of American dancers who are members of European ballet companies but we never see American principals as guest artists. Would be nice if they gave us a chance to see what they can do.

Misty beautifully well done.😊❤
Semionova is no longer with the company. A shame, as her Swan Lake with Gomes in 2011 was spectacular.
Dear Chryl, you are right.
Thank you very much
It's a big pleasure. Thanks for your appreciation.
Русский балет самый сильный и лучший
This is Awesome...Misty Copeland Glory
Awwww thank you so sweet....I Love Creativity
Gil Pritchett nope. But I respect her greatly.
@@kathymyers7279 No you don't. I've seen you comment about her on multiple videos and you never have anything nice to say. It's weird how obsessed you are with her...
Gillian slayyyy👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Marcelo Gomez is amazing
While watching the clip of Ferri, for a moment, I thought I was watching Fonteyn. Interesting
Polina Semionova fantastic
Oh my, America has Osipova ? How long does a guest artist stay?
She only did one performance in 2018. I think she was more active with the company in the past.
I love these compilations you are making. However, Polina Semionova left ABT years ago, she's not even performing as a guest with them nowadays.
Glad you like them - thanks for your comment. Wikipedia and Polina Semionova's official website still list her as an ABT principal, so I thought she was. Thanks for the information, though.

I absolutely agree, Laura.
Good enough for American taste
@Laura Streeter and she has and will still dance classics until she retired. Let. It. Go.
Stellllaaaaaa!!!!!
❤❤❤❤❤
DILLIAN IS FABULOUS, AS ALWAYS.
D illian who ???
sARA lANE IS ENCHANTING!
uuugh sterling baca really dropped the ball when odette does the swoon backward after doing the quasi bow forward... its supposed to look as if he catches her not like his arm is around her before the swoon... instead it loses its spontaneity and feels forced
berldlo 82 true

Omg the dream pas
Misty Copeland Ne Plus Ultra.
Copeland meglio nella danza contemporanea che nei ruoli classici
ABT is just not on the level of Royal Ballet or Paris Opera, not even close.....
Good enough for American tastes

Or Mariinsky or Bolshoi...

Gillian Murphy moves kinda NYCB-like haha
Why some of the dancers have so bulky calves and thighs? You can really tell who were not trained in the US.
