Elisabeth Beyer was promoted to apprentice with ABT for the fall season but she is still touring with abt studioco and didn't take part in the shows of abt. She is such a stunning dancer that deserves better
so agree. they are all lovely and gifted....but she's in a different category. I hope she is happy and moves on if not. They promote sooooo slowly in the US (not just ABT).And I wish they were more equitable and showed more diversity in their video rather than only showing the same dancers in the same group repeatedly. Oh well. There are others.
@@GiselleKlara they promote slowly because they're not fully government funded like companies in Europe and some parts of the world. Promotions with company rankings also come with a raise in salary/wage and American companies rely on donars and sponsorships mainly because the government gives them little or nothing at all. So promotions are very slow when compared with European companies
If she was from their school they would of promoted her sooner. But she’s from Ellison, their competition school on the city, which Ellison produces way better dancers!
Beautiful dancers and Yan Chen is gorgeous to watch, her technique as she demonstrates 😍. I love her care with all the corrections, just making them all even better. Thank you for sharing with us.
So the studio company isn't a paid position and they dance full time, and that's the main way dancers are hired into Abt currently? I've always wondered, is housing covered, are they already local to NYC, how does this work for people that don't already have secure backgrounds?
I just came from watching The Royal Ballet's 4 hour, beautifully produced World Ballet Day video, I think you guys should put some more effort into it next year, but still nice to see something different.
C. Stephanie Berry 1 second ago No my friend not better than the Russians. If you look at a third year class of the Russians you will find their match. They look lovely but the Russian technique is sublime and produces the very highest levels. These dancers are lovely and if they had had that Russian training from the beginning I believe that they would be much better than what we see. The Russians remain at the pinnacle of the art of ballet. And no one does pas de deux. In the area of pas de deux( A man and a woman dancing together with lifts and aerial feats) the Russians are eclipsed by their own Soviet past when they performed with breathtaking synchronicity and technique. We will keep doing our best and see what ballet looks like. These young people look very promising.
@@c.stephanieberry8695 I was a ballerina for about ten years. I’ve always admired the Russians the most, so I hear your point. However, these dancers look Stunning. The men in this video were amazing. Usually the men look weaker than the women (Russian men included), but not at ABT. That’s a great accomplishment.
How odd. It says very clearly that this is ABT's STUDIO company and the host says very clearly that 3 of them will go on to become apprentices next month and that this is part f the school's pre-proffessional program. So yeah...pretty obvious that they are students. Weird comment....
So typical ABT s company is more about promoting their school and summer program than actual artist….. makes sense when you see them perform today vs 10years ago. I haven’t seen one dancer from their school that didn’t perform like a student or was worth watching.
Dancing to a computer is very sad at this level. As a dancer I would be bored stiff. Extraordinary that such an amateur and pedestrian offering is considered worthy of World Ballet Day. If you are going to use pre recorded music why not use a range of marvellous symphonic and orchestral pieces; this accompaniment is dreadful.
They are on tour performing, warming up for a performance. Symphonic and orchestral pieces (as beautiful as they can be) are not really appropriate for a ballet warm up. I'm positive they have a live pianist in their studios in NYC.
@@redlantern3371 Thankyou for your response. I'm surprised the union allows a live musician to be replaced by a computer; I also found the downloaded music choices dreary. One might as well just switch the radio on !
Until I saw the computer, I thought there was a live pianist, just didn't understand why s/he kept playing after some exercise were finished. The sound quality was fine, except that the teacher should have had a mic clipped to her collar. There was nothing amateurish about this class.
@@saltator1802 Professional dancers deserve a professional pianist. A gym workout doesn't need music crafted to the movement and inspiring emotion. From a major ballet company this was amateur in my view.
@@fido652 This is in no way a "major ballet company," it is a touring youth company associated with American Ballet Theatre; some of the dancers will eventually become apprentices of ABT. This class was full of interest pedagogically and well conceived and realized for aspiring young ballet dancers. The very fact that you imagined that they are professionals is proof enough they are doing an excellent job.
오호~~ 연서야~~~
발레하는모습 봐서 넘넘 좋다.
다치지말고 잘먹구~
Good luck !!♡♡♡
I see seeds of Misty Copeland all over that room. When given the opportunity, we can do anything!
Just beautiful teacher ❤ beautiful dancers ..thank you for sharing

Thank you so much for the opportunity to observe the ABT Studio company in class! Very enjoyable, and very talented young dancers!
They are so beautiful! Loved this!

This reminded me of Diana Cartier's classes in New York in several respects.
Come back to Albuquerque 🎉🎉

@@GiselleKlara what a shocker. purely shocking.
@@AllieHutchins ballet in the US. That's why the better dancers all go to Europe if they can and YAGP etc are so popular as gateways
That's why it's mostly upper middle class/rich kids succeeding in ballet in the U.S unfortunately.

when you could see her :(
You're moves very good as i watch

Damn why are people in the ballet community so damn mean
Ummm not quite there yet compare to Bolshoi and Mariinski’s corps de ballet…maybe these are students? Open class maybe ?
You obviously did not bother to listen to the introduction or read the text above. You should inform yourself first and then post.
