Cleaning Your Reservoir / Tank Before Fitting A Regulator 'Lane Regulators'.

Before you set about installing a regulator into your air reservoir / tank, it is best practice to make sure that it is scratch free & spotlessly clean, especially if you are going to try to fit one with out a breath hole being drilled.
This example is for - STEEL TUBES.
DO NOT - Do this to aluminium / alloy tubes, just give then a degrease and wipe out.

It appears there’s a few hrs work involved in fitting a reg , from first taking gun to pieces, drilling breather cleaning inside of tube of air cylinder, etc etc , then of course adjusting hammer spring tension ,, blimey , I’ll shoot 60 shots through a chrony and find my sweet spot , I’m lazy cheers Shane uk 🇬🇧

Your loss pal, it’s a pity though as Lane regs are known worldwide. They’re the business for turning around an unregulated rifle and giving the operator almost infinite adjustment over power/air consumption. Worth the time, effort and the money imo for what you get back out of it in the long run, plus the knowledge you made something better. Not in everyone’s skill set though, I get that.

Why is it that the threaded part of te reservoir is has a smaller wall thickness?

Felix Q it has not the crest to crest are exactly the same as the tube wall internal diameter

If you’re still none the wiser after 4 years, it’s in case of a critical failure caused by over filling or over pressurisation of the reservoir. It will allow it to go with a “fizz” as an o-ring gives way to the air instead of the structural grade tubing going with a “bang”...
