    Oh my God Greg is my ex-husband. I kept waiting for them to call his name, Joel!!! Because he is my ex-husband up one side and down the other, he had probably 70 jobs in the first couple years that we were married. He would get one job and keep it for a couple days and quit. Every time I got a job he would come around and get me fired!! by just hanging around my job. It was so embarrassing!!

    My mother treated me as an unpaid laundry service, cleaning service, yard service, cook, and bottle washer. I'm had to cook meals to be served at 6pm even if I had to be at work st 5pm. And there were four people in the house besides me. I could not wait to get out. And when I went back to visit my folks, my mother figured that if she delivered orders, I would carry them out. She learned how far that would get her the hard way.

    • @hollybigelow5337
      @hollybigelow5337 14 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Science used to believe that the number one contribution to weight was basically this calorie counter. Those who eat too much junk food and don't exercise are overweight and those who eat right and exercise regularly are thin and look healthy. Science still believes that what we eat and how much we exercise is definitely a FACTOR in our weight, but actually the number one contributor to our weight is CORTISOL LEVELS. This becomes an extra problem because high cortisol levels can lead someone to shut down and crave junk food and also not want to exercise, so basically cortisol levels can contribute to the other two factors as well.
      Why do I bring this up? Because the idea that someone who is overweight is "clearly not missing a meal or getting much exercise" is not true. It COULD be true, but it isn't guaranteed. In this case, we know the whole story, so it is likely true that they aren't missing any meals BECAUSE WE KNOW MOM IS PROVIDING THOSE MEALS. But there are plenty of people who are overweight who actually are missing meals. The few meals they can afford are extremely unhealthy because THEY CAN'T AFFORD HEALTHY FOOD. They also can't afford a gym membership or gym clothes, and if they are working two jobs to try to survive and are also say a singe mother trying to care for kids when not at work who is struggling to find childcare during work certainly is not going to be able to find childcare to exercise. Some would immediately respond to this with, "Well, she shouldn't have gotten pregnant outside of marriage." But what if she is a widow? What if, like one of my close friends, she is not only a widow, but both of her parents died over a decade ago, she has no siblings, and her in-laws didn't approve of the marriage and are now trying to take all of her possessions in court because they claim she brainwashed their son and they deserve all of his estate , and they are also trying to include all of the possessions SHE brought to the marriage in HIS estate? Or what if she married a guy she thought was a good guy, partly because she was under huge pressure from her religious parents to get married, and after she had a kid she finally understood that she was in a horribly abusive relationship and she ran from the relationship to save her own life and the life or her child?
      Although this particular criticism MIGHT have some merit with this particular couple, I am sick and tired of judgmental people first of all perpetuating the myth that comes from old science that has actually been somewhat debunked as if it is still legitimate. Science found a correlation between exercise and eating and weight and assumed a causal relationship, but once again cortisol is actually the biggest cause, and technically science may even have the causal relationship on that reversed. In other words, fat people are more likely to eat junk food and not exercise because of the fat, which starts out by being caused by stress, rather than people who eat junk food and don't exercise are more likely to be fat because of what they eat and the lack of exercise.
      Once again, there still is somewhat of a causal relationship both ways. And it's also true that it's a vicious cycle, because eating right and exercising can sometimes decrease cortisol levels, and not exercising and eating junk food can sometimes increase cortisol levels. And dopamine definitely plays a role in all of this as well. But the number of times I have seen a "skinny" or "healthy" person judging a "fat" or "unhealthy" person for their weight who have actually sat down and tracked what they eat only to find out that the "healthy" person was actually eating more than the "unhealthy" person has blown my mind. The number of times I have heard stories such as, "My sister is overweight. She sprained her ankle while RUNNING A MARATHON, and when she went to the doctor the doctor refused to treat her ankle and instead made her talk to a specialist about her weight who gave her a pamphlet about WALKING EVERY DAY," also blows my mind. I know several people who are overweight who regularly engage in extreme sports, but because many doctors still believe old myths about weight they never believe that the person eats right and exercises even when they are often in the doctor's office specifically because of injuries from their exercise.
      Don't get me wrong, there's even more than just cortisol that contributes to weight. Genetics and metabolism play a HUGE part. And I have definitely known people who have weight problems because of a damaged thyroid or other health problems. If after controlling for genetics and metabolism and cortisol levels and health problems such as thyroid problems and brain damage and problems producing or retaining or processing neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin a person is still overweight, it is possible that they are just choosing to be lazy and are not eating right and are not exercising. But those are a TON of factors to consider first, and even in the case of these two I don't believe these other possible contributing factors have been properly considered.

When I turned 18, my parents told me that I can stay as long as I need, all I needed to do was go to university or find a job. I went to University, and worked. It’s hard to find a job now and being Neurodivergent (I’m Autistic/ADHD) makes job finding much harder and they understand, but I still keep searching and applying, I even do Vocational Rehab.

      I'm kind of in the same boat as you. I'm 30 and live with my mom and stepdad. I did go to college and get a bachelor's degree in animal science. I was planning on going onto vet school, but I had to quit because of my health. I have a very rare case of extremely severe asthma. Animals themselves don't bother it, but anything strenuous can, along with dust, cigarette smoke, strong smells like chemical cleaners and perfumes, air pollution, high humidity, extreme weather and temperature changes, etc. I've seen 3 specialists, and they've all said they've never seen a case as bad and severe as mine. I'm on 2 different injections. I recently switched pharmacies, and the pharmacist actually asked me if I'm taking both injections for the same condition or separate conditions. I said I'm taking both for severe asthma. Amd she said she's never seen another patient that needed more than one injection to control their symptoms...but then there's me 😂 I also take 3 inhalers and a pill every day. My injections are Dupixent every 2 weeks and Tezspire every 3 weeks. I was on both separately and they helped, but not enough. Together, it's been great. Anyways, I technically qualify for disability because of my asthma, but I chose to still work. My options are just limited. I'm currently a van/bus driver for a transportation company, and I take kids to and from school. It's something I can still do. So I do have a job, and I pay for the majority of my own food and necessities. I do all the dishes and help out around the house. I sometimes will go pick up my moms groceries along with my own. If my mom asks me to pick something up for her, i will never ask her to pay me back. I pay for any car repairs or maintenance my car needs. I give my mom money to cover my portion of utilities. My mom has never actually asked me to pay for anything, but I choose to do it out of respect for my parents and them allowing me to live in their home. To me, it's the right thing to do. My parents don't go places often, but when they do, I'm there to take care of their dogs. My mom has never once said that she doesn't want me there. I would be living in my car otherwise. Although I do work, there's no way I can afford to live anywhere by myself. I honestly don't know how anybody can right now. But it just amazes me that people think they can mooch off their parents just because it's their parents. As Dr phil said, even if you can't pay for anything, the least you could do is help out around the house with chores and stuff. I also don't have any children. I can barely afford myself. It would be irresponsible of me to bring a child into this world.

    I don’t know when this was filmed but due to the economy my 19 year old works close to full time and goes to school for nursing. She is trying to get a second job but there is no possible way she could afford to live on her own right now and I financially can’t help her get on her feet somewhere else. It makes more sense for her to live at home than to move out right now and it is sad. We need the economy to improve before she can spread her wings.

      The only similarity between your situation, and this, is that you have a 19 year old living at home.

    • @peabody1313

      @@kiwigirlNZ I didn’t say anything about relating to this situation personally. I was just pointing out that the economy has changed so living dynamics and children are living back with parents is at an all time high. Again I don’t know when this was filmed but I guarantee this is more common now than ever as people can’t afford to live on their own. Just a thought I had while watching this video it’s not that deep

    To be "jealous" of another lady, you would envy them for what they have. Don't envy someone that has taken on your problem person. Bless them and let them go. The right emotion and thought process might be feeling sorry for the next woman he entangles with because he's proven what he has to offer and is willing to be for anyone. If his own child can't motivate him to love and support in a healthy manner, no one else will. He's just looking for his next victim or person to abuse and mooch off of. Let him go. He's costing resources out of your child's mouth and life.

    If people actually hired these days without laughing at the efforts homeless people make to have a life we would be more like Finland and Austria, where people are given jobs to do and cheap apartments to live in before they are kicked back out onto the streets again. Jobs AREN'T handed out in this country, and the propaganda that they are is linked back to military corruption. Benefits that cause world wars have devastating perks.

    I have a son who has a minimum wage job. He lives with his family and they need money all the time bc the minimum wage doesn’t pay enough. He is constantly asking me for money. It’s hard on me bc I’m on a fixed income bc I’m disabled. He has a hand that doesn’t function and works three jobs. One of the jobs is to clean up the complex he lives in for reduced rent. How or what can I do to help him have better income? He doesn’t have time for school with three jobs. He is in another state from me and it’s very painful for me when I tell him I don’t have money to help him as often as he needs. Who helps the working poor like my son who actually are willing to work very hard.
