    I’m lucky enough to live in KW and have had two pairs of Redwings - moc toe and Beckmans resoled by this amazing craftsman! Worth every penny to keep perfectly good Redwing uppers on the streets! KW Shoe Repair is 10 outta 10!

    The Vibram Montagna is a real improvement; not to mention that giant slab of veg tanned leather. Now I am getting the itch to improve those rangers in my closet!

    Should come with these soles as a factory option. I have the 6" Moc toe but have been concidering the iron ranger but think the soles look too thin

      It's no mid-sole that's the biggest challenge, IMO. Wolverine has a lot more outsole combinations offered in the 1000 Mile.

      @@Keckegenkai Correct, but they tend to just stitch wherever on the welt, so one of my pairs will go to my shop and another one to the Wyatts.

      The sole lasts but its hard and feels like walking on wood. When I blow through the factory sole I'll get it resoled with dainite or something like that.

    Never seen a blaked heel Rand before! Genius! So obvious a secure solution! The boots now look like John White British Army Boots circa 1965. You must also have clean mind as well judging by state of your shop ;^) fabulous job!

    Great sole for those boots. I know it's hard to do all the time, but I really appreciate that you have been posting a lot of videos recently. Thanks!

    On the recommendation of my cobbler I had these put on my rangers when they were worn out. They’re very nice soles - if you don’t have a gravel driveway. I now track them into the house and it’s no fun with small kids. Just a word to the wise. Nice work though! Very ASMR.

    I watch a lot of different shoe cobler videos. First time I have seen a Blake stitch on the heel like that. Very interesting to see how shops do things differently. Great video. New subscriber here.

    Thanks for the video.
    I fly fish. To help me walk over algae covered rocks I screw metal cleats in the vibram soles. Unfortunately the cleats have come out and the holes no longer grip new cleats.
    Is there any glues or rubber filler that can be used to grip a new cleat? Can the soles be replaced?

    My wading boots have vibram soles. The soles /heel include 12 pin size openings to screw in cleats to help grip onto moss covered rocks along the riverbed. These holes no longer hold the cleats. Is there a glue that will weld the hold close so the cleats will hold?
    Or is there a material that can be glued inside the hole so the cleats can be secured to the sole/heel

    I bought the Vibram 132 outsoles and then I noticed that they don't have both the little ©and ®next to the yellow logo, just the ® and also on the heel there's no "Vibram". Are they authentic vibram outsoles?

    • @KWSHOEREPAIR
      @KWSHOEREPAIR  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have the authority to authenticate Vibram products. Kindly reach out to Vibram directly for assistance, as they would be better equipped to help you with this matter.

    So I’ve been watching countless videos of cobblers repairing and resoling shoes.
    One thing that I have picked up on is that when taking the old sole off ,with iron rangers it’s good to remove the old cork since it can get damaged and have air bubbles under the cork which can cause squeaks .
    Also , the videos I have seen and cobblers I have seen talk about it prefer to take the old shank and glue on it out since the old glue does not make a solid bond always with the new glue you put in.
    I’m wondering if the cork was replaced off camera , or if the cobbler felt that it didn’t need the be replaced and if the shank was removed and reset .
    On a side note I’m also curious to hear if it’s better to use a metal shank or a leather one .
    Iron rangers obviously come with the metal shank, but higher end brands like nicks uses a leather shank .

    • @KWSHOEREPAIR
      @KWSHOEREPAIR  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The process involves replacing old cork with new cork, and the steel shank covered with fabric is removed and reglued. These steps have been omitted for brevity, as many prefer shorter videos over longer ones. I hope this addresses your concerns.
