    4:00 Just FYI, the flush doesn't come in. Look at the cards on the table, they misread a diamond for a heart. There are only two hearts by the river.

    • @richardfeynman2960
      @richardfeynman2960 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah. The Ace is a diamond not a heart. So Dwan had the nuts. And the business man has de facto second nuts as Aces should be off the table.

    The TV graphics on the Dwan/Masa Kagawa hand were wrong. It was the Ace of Diamonds on board, not the Ace of Hearts displayed in the graphics, so there was no flush possibility.

      Jaymz ...I beg to differ. Barry reraised preflop, so there's no way Eastgate is worried Barry having a 2 or pocket 10's. Tom on the other hand could have a 2.

  • @MAYCboshi

    The graphic was wrong in the Dwan Masa hand. There was not a heart flush draw on the board. The ace was a diamond. So the guy with 910 of hearts didn't fold a winner.

    Am I the only one that noticed that at 3:35 , the display shows 3 hearts on the board, whilst there are only 2 and the ace of diamonds when the camera shows it? Makes a pretty damn big difference in that situation

    • @squeedum4893

    in the hand with Kagawa you say the "the heart does come" but at 3.37 you see the real board where you see it's the A of diamonds, not the A of hearts. So no potential flush out there..

    Thanks for the vid Papiiiii

    • @joeingram1
      @joeingram1  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When he came to proeminence, the overall standard of the professional scene wasn't good as it is nowadays. That, coupled with his overraggresive play, brought him short term success. That only lasted a few years and then his style started to be money loosing in the long term.
      As for him being lucky, he definitely seemed that way. But you must also take into account that poker shows/events only showcased/streamed the most drama packed hands. So for every sucessfull bluff that they showed and we have seen, he had twice as many that failed.

    Joey, I think it's fair to call Dwan one of the best Poker players of all time. In terms of natural ability combined with balls, run good and insane ability to use his table image there is no one ever better than this dude. His Cash Game results are out of this world and he is still crushing the High Stakes to this day. Truly is one of the best ever in my eyes #GOAT

      The only person who rivals him would have been Stu Ungar. What is truly amazing is seeing how ordinary every one else's game looks in comparison. They are all are just ABC players playing the primary hands. He massages and manipulates the game to gain an expected edge which cannot be better exploited than what he does. It is truly artistry instead of just egg head math nerdiness.

      In Doyle's best day he wasn't as good as Dwan unless he was better in Texas than he was in Vegas. Dolly never lacked ego. As far as I am concerned Brunson wasn't as good as Stu Ungar and or Johnny Chan. This should let a lot of the dogs out of the cages to scream heresy. Bring it on amateurs.

      ? Not really sure where you see that here. only one hand does anything like that happen and that is him he has a literal 50/50 coin flip on an all-in and hitting trip queens with a flush draw. Everything else was him executing beautiful bluffs and extracting as much money as possible with made hands. The all-in against pocket kings on the river was also great because he made it seem like his hand was weak.

      when you consistently do this over years of play it is no longer luck. Its kind of like saying Michael and Kobe just have a jump shot at the end of the game and it just happens to go in.Deal with it, some people are just great. Watch and admire their skill. In an age of real mediocrity it is a thrill to see.

    Hey Joe, commenting on an old video here but wanted to say that the Aussie Millions cash games didn't necessarily have fake cheering. That's shot in Studio 3 upstairs and we were able to watch from the mezzanine and make noise once the players were out of the hand. Still possibly a fake track but thought it was worth mentioning

    He really is a legend in our time. What was he, 17 when he hit the scene? He plays like I like to play, offensive. People are afraid to call Durr because he plays so many hands that you never know what he's got. He'll play a Q-9 like it's a pair of Aces. Yet he knows when he's beat and isn't afraid to just fold, even after spending some money on a big pot.
