Thank you Sir for your valuable insights; if i may ask a question: as a life long martial artist, but as a beginner in Yiquan for how long do you think it is beneficial to stand still in the postures relative to the flowing movements, when you start moving in waves and experiment with Shi Li and the physical expressions of Fajin?
And would it be possible if you could say if you train for three months, then i recommend this kind of training, after that...and so on?
For example if you half an hour of training time daily in the first year, what kind of phases should a Yiquan training usually consist of?
Thank you very much again for your teachings!
    Have a great day!

Hi, and thank you for the very positive comments. Everything depends on what you want and how much you are prepared to devote to achieving it - like everything. Aim for 10, then 20, 30 and 40 mins in standing. Do this in an achievable way that builds resilience - so being strict with yourself - but it shouldn't be torture, so build it in a wholesome, healthy, achievable way. Aim for half an hour slow movement building to an hour while you do this. That will be much easier, and is more about being strict with yourself than the difficulty of doing it. At the same time, if your interest is practical martial arts, then also practice technical fight training, and let the different elements of your training help improve each other. Fa li is a different question, and fa li isn't just one thing. All of your technical fighting training related to hitting, kicking, punching etc. should be fa li, but most of the time this should be a more relaxed version, to protect your body longer term. Keep watching the series for much more detailed answers to your questions. They're great questions, but there is no simple, single answer - so as always, trust your intuition while keeping focused on your goal. Tre

@@thr3treebase886 What a great answer, thank you so much! If i dare to propose a topic, i would be very interested in the "mental images" you are using, when you are standing still and at what moment based on which inner and external criteria you go to the next step and express a small wave Fa Li. That what is difficult to me, i know that i have to find most of the answers myself, but without a direct teacher (and in my area there are none) i dont know the right process. To me it is wonderful to hear that almost all technical fighting should be Fa Lin in relaxed version, my background in a lot of martial arts brought me to the same conclusion regarding a "Flow Concept" of Training. And from a fighting and sparring perspective i would love to know which kind of Fa Li wave movements (besides hitting and pulling) are related to specific applications in a light sparring situation. Thank you so much again Sir! I appreciate everything you are teaching to us!

@@fightingstudent2363 Thanks again for the very kind words and you're very welcome. All being well I'll cover all of the things you're talking about as time goes on. And the things you mention are spot on - very important concepts, so you are obviously doing really well in your progress if you have intuited that these are important areas. Wang Xiangzhai used to say that the main problem in Yiquan is that people think that they need to find a teacher to give them the answers, when everything you need to know is already in you. So don't worry about there being no teacher. A teacher just gives you information - information that you can use to move forward faster intuitively. But we can get information by the bucket load now. What matters is how you use it.
