My house is new and my garage floor is pretty much perfect. I did grind the concrete near the rear of the garage to lower a few high spots. I will seal it in the next few days before it gets cold here in South Carolina because I have the sealer and I may as well use it. I powered washed the garage a few days ago. Ordered a heater today. My flooring should be here in a few weeks or less. You can make a wood plate for jacks or buy a steel plate.

If you ever drop a tiny screw, you might be able to use a 6" magnetic parts holder or a magnetic mini sweeper like they sell at Harbor Freight to get it if it is very small and hard to see.
That could work. The odds of you finding it though will be difficult. I once shot a c-clip across the room after rebuilding some carburetors and I had to write it off LOL
Beautiful garage. You did a great job. I opted for Racedeck last year as I found a killer deal on the free flow tiles. Overall I’m happy but the winters are not so great on these tiles. When snow and grime melt off our parked cars in the garage they leave an ugly brown film on our black tiles. Have you had the same issue? If so, any recommendations on keeping the floor clean?
Thank you! I haven't had any issues like that with my swisstrax. Is it able to be power washed off? You could also after every winter to a brush attachment to your drill with some degreaser I'm sure to quickly blast away the stains or use a round surface cleaner on your power washer.
Does it get slippery? I have a heavy bag for boxing in my garage and I drip a lot of sweat in the summer. I also do oil changes in the vicinity of the bag so I keep a bucket of sawdust to clean the concrete of any oil spills after so I don't slip when doing boxing footwork. My concrete doesn't look good so I'm looking at Swisstrax to spruce up the garage. Thanks for the review
Did it happen to you that a tail broke when you lifted the car on a manual (hydraulic) jack? Then the weight of the car is on only those four small wheels from the jack.
I put a epoxy floor in my garage from Home Depot and it lasted almost 5 years before it started to lift off. It is all about the preparation of the floor prior to putting the epoxy down. That being said I am going to be using a new flooring that is similar to Swisstrax. I prefer to have one that has no holes to the bottom since if you drop something you are heading to the store to buy new parts, or you are lifting the floor up to find it.
You really only have to worry about small fasteners. What's nice about the ribbed floor is that it's also never dusty since it all falls through. My HD epoxy floor failed where my hot tires were parked. I think the HD epoxy floor would be good for non-car use like an unfinished basement, etc.
I live in the Northern part of Ohio and my garage is equipped with a Hot and Cold spigot for rinsing off the cars. do you see a problem with using Hot water on these tiles?

Im not buying the cleanability. Im betting there's sludge under those tiles. I dont see how people have these and wash carson them. The water has to go somewhere and the tiles create a labrinth that will impead water from just rolling out the garage.
There are channels under the tile designed to allow water to flow. If your slab is not on a >2° grade then the water will sit. But that would be representative of any floor

Would placing a large flat piece of metal or wood underneath the jack help increase its contact area with the Swisstrax Tile and hence the wheels won't get stuck or damage the tile?
Did you put the swisstrax tiles over your yellowish floor as shown at the beginning? Or did you painted it again before installing the tiles? On your video its impossible to see the floor.
It would 100% roll better. But I like the way the dust and debris falls into the ribtrax. Not sure what I would use if I had to do it all over again. My stools and floor jacks would rolls a lot better and make less noise…

I’ve had no issues with my tool chests and they are all filled with mechanic tools. The only time I get depression on the floor is if I’m using a floor jack under an engine to lift a car. The 3,000lb lift goes into the front wheels and into the floor of the jack. Hope that helps
@@DasCayman Are you based in usa? Here in Brisbane Australia a double car garage would only cost 3k-5k depending on system used. I did a 400m2 detailing warehouse which only cost the client 32k roughly
epoxy is so much maintenance. I used it in for the past 4 years in my previous house and I had to wash it at least 3 to 4 times every winter and mop it every other week in the summer to keep that pristine look. Winter is the worst with epoxy.mud and grime stays and I have to pretty much squeegee the garage every time. Brand new house and I am going with swisstrax even though the quote I got for epoxy is cheaper.

There’s channels under the floor. If you really care you can spray the whole floor down and the garage slope plus the channels will take the dirt out.

I just use degreaser. If the tile is really bad you can just swap it out for $5. Never had an issue in 5 years and I do A LOT of work on my cars

You won't need to because it falls through. In the 5 years I've had this floor now I've maybe vacuumed it once because I dropped a bag of dirt...
Just a cheap option, nothing beats a proper epoxy floor.
