Agreed. I have a Tesla and charging is a non-issue with a level 2 charger at home. When on road trips, Superchargers are strategically placed along the route and you usually don't need to charge to 100%. You just need to top up a certain amount (e.g. +25%) to get you to your final destination.
At least for the Bay Area, there's a lot of people who rely on superchargers. A large amount of people live in condos or apartments that are all street parking, no where to charge. It's unfortunate because the chargers are ALWAYS clogged at many locations. On my Model 3, I usually just use the CCS adapter now but even that's not working out so well any more. The Electrify America, etc chargers are always taken since there's many new non-tesla EV's on the road. The charging infrastructure is really starting to show it's weaknesses
99% of people driving less then 50 miles per day "idk if i wanna wait at the charger for 25 min man i can refuel in 3 min with a gas car" Not realizing they would just be recharging the car at night at home never waiting or going to a gas station ever again unless they go on a roadtrip.

I have owned this car for a year now, Tesla or EV, perfect for everyday driving. Nothing beats the acceleration one pedal driving, easier than driving an engine vehicle. However, I would not buy EV unless you are able to charge it overnight every day. That number #1 convenience of EV car everyday you wake up and it's fully charged. I do miss the V8 but I'm hoping to one make that a weekend car.
Just a note we have different superchargers. The fastest will charge my plaid in 20min when I am traveling. You are correct if you have EV invest in level 2 home charger which will charge your car to full overnight. love the enviroment comment and look on your face lol, on the bottom of my model x raven, it says "i bought this car for the speed not the enviroment" roll on getting the Plaid in the uk
Pretty sweet X3 Plaid I must say. Looks unreal blacked out with that combo. I'd be charing 99.9% of the time in my own garage and just need to plan ahead a little on road trips. Charging stations are located near restaurants, malls and coffee shops so you get other things done while you charge. You don't sit there and stare at the charger like we do with the gas pumps. Just a change of habits I suppose. I remember when I had a diesel car and when travelling it was often really hard to find diesel in some towns had a few close calls. That doesn't really happen with modern day EV's that have these crazy digital maps and GPS systems built-in with all the charging stations and details mapped out. Currently drive the F150 Powerboost hybrid but I'll make the switch here eventually....probably in the next 3-5 years once more choices and availability are out there and it doesn't take 1-2 years to receive the ordered vehicle although Tesla is one company you can probably get vehicles much faster currently than the rest of the companies out there because they control much of their own supply chain....which is smart. Anyway, enjoyed the video and liked that you changed it up.
Anyone that thinks a Tesla is “sweet” is clueless. Look at that god awful shoddy quality. And the inside looks like a $10,000 car from the 1980’s. Could it look any cheaper?

Yes I'm old and grumpy, and this is the future. However I just can't get at all excited about this. As it stands now I can help but think about folks that owned Mercedes diesels in the 60's and 70's having to plan their trips around finding truck stops to have adequate access to fuel. For the time being I would think the charging station issue is much the same depending on where you reside.
Hey Mike! Great video. Just so you know, you shouldn't charge a tesla to 100% unless you are going to use the car right away for a long trip. Tesla recommends to charge between 50% -90% daily. This helps the battery life.

Big mike awesome vid question do you know anyone who owns a lucid air if so would be great if they let you borrow it for a review and you can compare the model S plaid to a lucid
One of the Best reviews on a any Tesla I've ever seen .........🧐 Well done bro
I want to know why we can’t have both EV”s and gas !! We are supposed to be living in a free country!!
Yeah just let the free market decide, there is a reason why Tesla is making fast cars, they want people to decide by themselves.
would you ever get a Shelby mustang?
It's like your cell phone - come home put it on charger:)
I sold my X5M for Tesla X Plaid and I don't regret. I miss the sound but the new tech and constant over the air updates make up for the loss :)
20mins my ass. Not from a low starting rate. But hey, takes me 2-3 mins TOPS to fill up my tank. Enjoy waiting an hour like a fool. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The thing that impressed me is that grandma still got game..... 🤣🤣
Anybody know what wheels are on that ModelX? Those look fantastic!
@AutoVlogs i did see streetspeeds reaction in a short clip and it was priceless. it does infact throw you back in the seat when you stomp on it
Man I liked this style video. Maybe you can start a series where you rent vehicles on Turo and review them. Great video!
I’m impressed too but it’s still putting a big dent in ozone too with charging and battery materials. Nice review you should do for a living
AutoVlog Great Review I think that Tesla Model X Plaid is pretty awesome and I think your Reactions to Plaid mode were absolutey hilarious as well Brian's and his Wife's and I think you should get your Wife's Reaction
Its just another "appliance" that also goes fast in a straight line, sorry, not for me . I can honestly say that I will never own an electric car. They have their place but are just too expensive and not practical for so many people. Great video Mike. Alla de allra bästa (hope I got that right) .
I see that you surprised Sydney in the plaid but no catching Wifey? Great Video by the way.
Interesting! Great video Mike.
11:50 you’re supposed to wait about 9 seconds for the car to go into cheetah stance 😂
question is, will you be buying one. excellent content today !!
love the enviroment comment and look on your face lol, on the bottom of my model x raven, it says "i bought this car for the speed not the enviroment" roll on getting the Plaid in the uk
Mike I feel you should be making the exhaust sounds and crackles manually!
Excellent opinion! It really shows how gas companies have been asleep at the wheel when it comes to tech also.
Anyone that thinks a Tesla is “sweet” is clueless. Look at that god awful shoddy quality. And the inside looks like a $10,000 car from the 1980’s. Could it look any cheaper?
With all that weight i wonder how this equates to pre mature tire wear or tire load.
Keep Up the Great #Tesla Content
Great video and amazing car. I love Tesla x p ❤
Great Video Mike 👍🏾
Very great review! Always considering the reality in this video. I like this. Keep it up
A buddy of mine had a non-plaid version of the Model X, but with the upgraded motors. When he punched it, I swear I felt my innards press against my spine. It.is.a.torque.monster!
Great review! I’m dreading the phasing out of internal combustion engines especially from brands like BMW. Very sad but I get it. Time to evolve.. smh. I’m also glad I have a home where I can charge it.. people hog charging stations in parking garages and apartment communities
Oh no you’re becoming Doug DeMuro Jr…even the fake laugh/reactions to hitting the gas pedal.
Tesla Model X didn't come out until 2016
What make/model of rims are those?
gianelle monte carlo
Your grandma and her new boyfriend! 🤣😂
Great review Mike
I love how u always refer to yourself as a “bald Swedish guy”!!! Lol
14:32 pretty sure it took that long because you used one of the slower 72kw chargers.
Why do you keep charging it to 100 percent?
15:25 "It's still not as pure as an internal combustion engine is." Like... how? Or what?🤨
For the same money u can get actual cool cars man
I want one bad I have the truck on order and will save and wait for that I can’t wait🔥🤘
Great Video!
Very good test drive I know you said about the no sound I saw a show today on motor trend that borla exhaust in process of developing a sound system for Evs they demonstrated in on the mustang EV works off the processor etc off the it was on all girls garage they demo it
Not a fan of EVs but excellent review Mike!
Why do I need an ultra fast SUV? I need a lot of space.
Hey Mike! Great video. Just so you know, you shouldn't charge a tesla to 100% unless you are going to use the car right away for a long trip. Tesla recommends to charge between 50% -90% daily. This helps the battery life.
Sydney's reaction was priceless :D
Tesla, great tech, interesting designs, wild performance. Solid review. I really wish automakers would focus more on hybrid technology As I think that’s a more practical way forward
The thing is combustion engines have an efficiency of 30%, electric motors have an efficiency of 80-95%.
You could wrap the roof glass to avoid those sun rays coming in
Yeah, I love ‘em but we ain’t there yet. It’s a toy in my book like a slingshot or a Harley. You’ll still need your internal combustion engine for many years especially in our part of the world.
The guy should have tours you that ev are now for charge every time at 100% only for trips
You can charge from 0-80 in 30 minutes that’s the max charge they recommend to charge for the average day use
What happens if you leave the key card in the car and the door close
