- Nigeria Apprehends 792 Suspects, Including 148 Chinese, Over Crypto-romance Scam | Firstpost Africa
Nigeria’s anti-graft agency has arrested nearly 800 suspects, including 148 Chinese and 40 Filipino nationals, believed to be involved in a crypto-romance scam. The agency said it had conducted a raid in Lagos, the country's commercial capital. The raid was held on a seven-storey luxury building which is believed to be a hub for fraudsters who lured victims with offers of romance and then pressed them to hand over cash for cryptocurrency investments. The anti-graft agency also said that foreign nationals recruited their Nigerian accomplices through a test on their computer expertise and then took them through a two-week induction programme on how to personate foreign females in romance scam chats. Most of the time, the Nigerian accomplices were unaware of their employer or the company they were working for. Following the news about the arrest, several social media users commented on the growing unemployment in Nigeria, which has contributed to an increase in criminal activities in the country. How will Nigeria tackle the issues of growing cybercrimes and unemployment among the youth? Watch the video to learn more.

It's obvious that you love lies and its written all the part of your body. Maybe you should go back and listen to the news, very well many Chinese Philippines etc were there so stop saying what you don't know. I guess is the English that's affecting you.
These is the list of sone of the suspects Chinese, Philipinos, Kazakhstani, Pakistani, Indonesian, Indian and their Nigerian accomplices. It’s very important that you dispense the right information, you don’t leave out what suits your narrative.
I'm Nigerian and my dad got scammed back in 2015 by an European company $2.3million it was a huge wave for us my dad was about to retire poor dad😢 he only wanted to invest his money some where for me cos I'm his only son the said they were oil company and the were in charge of treatment of oil and gas something like a refinery my dad invested and boom he lost $2.3million I was about to enter high school at that time all thanks to my mom she had money cos she was working too she also held my dad all through till today my dad is a little bit on his feet let's say stable but not like before😢😢😢 not only chinese but Europeans too
Imagine this !! and yet nobody will talk about it cos the victim is Nigerian , if the victim was a foreigner scammed that huge amount of money the internet would have gone busling.
😂😂😂😂 lies.
May God replenish his pockets somehow. Thats alot of money, too much put into one place. Daddy had good intentions, but its not natural for European companies to boast of Oil Companies since they actually source most natural resources from Africa.
@@thato97 I have evidence I still have that companies name in my head that's only if it's real you can make laugh all you can cause it wasn't your dad or family I understand but don't call me a liar cause you have no idea what we went through we could hardly eat at that time my mom was the one feeding us some days when my dad didn't have money my little sister was hospitalized my dad couldn't pay the bills please don't let me curse you cause you will regret it I promise you

Well just like Nigeria fighting and bring jealous of south Africa and Ghana, everyone knows the tensions between china and India. Indians envy all their neighbors. Same with Nigeria

its decades late but at least Nigeria is starting to hold their criminals accountable
🤫
Too late. They sent them to hold passports of good African countries and it's affecting other countries
@@lazyscorpion3889 its funny how you are so quick to blame Nigerians when this criminal organizations are ran by foreigners as said in the news and even mentioned the nationalities of those involved but you turn a blind eye to that. The Nigerians involved were the ones they recruited. Same thing in SA. The drug lords there bring in powder from Mexico and Brazil into their own country and who gets blamed?
You mean the FOREIGN criminals???
NO to scam.

Nigeria to the world, they tried it recently on me , but trust me am too broke to be screamed 😂😂😂
So you know. Nigerians don’t own that outfit but foreigners. We don’t set up Centres for fraud and that’s why they were easily caught. Chinese and foreigners carry out scams in Nigeria.
Stupid
This people where all foreigners and not even Nigerians ,they were Chinese, Philippino,Kazakhstan,Indonesian and pakistan people..... And people will think all scams happening are mostly Nigeria and you could see this people were all foreigners
You are mad, all those 792 that was caught were they Nigerians ?
They were Chinese , Filipinos, Kazakhstan, Indonesian and Pakistan people, they are still more and a lot of them in Nigeria but covering their tracks, then people will think all the scams happening from Nigeria are all Nigerians that are doing the scams when one or 2 is been caught... Nonsense
@jeff4rhema.348 is up to you, those nationalities you mentioned, why didn't they allow it to happen in their country rather . Learn and be proactive, life is short on the fast lane.....
Lol
Same thing in zambia chines and Philippines where arested for the same story
With this burst, i do not expect the Chinese government to interfere in the Nigerian justice system to try to extradite its citizens involved in this crime to their home country, they should allow the laws of Nigeria to deal with them accordingly. These suspects are nation wreckers and they shouldn't be dealt with as such.
Does Nigeria have laws
@@GiftJerome Hater
What a laughable comment. Nigeria? Laws? Wow. As a fellow African I believe that those west Africans need to be punished by foreign countries. Only then can we ensure justice.
Unless you're Nigerian and you know that the definitely walk free in Nigeria

Most Nigerians arrested there didn't even know what they're doing. Some of thought they're doing a regular 9 to 5 for a foreign firm. Follow the original news and listen to the interviews. Like 70% of the Nigerians involved got no clue of what they're doing.
@ValentineUgochukwu Yes
And they were even employed with their CVs as a normal job like call centers, cleaners e.t.c
Very disturbing news. I advise white woman to be very much careful with whom they interact especially older people.
They portray themselves as Giants of scams real Giants Scam them hahahaha

Did you even listen to the news or all you saw was cyber crime in Nigeria and you commented? They are a foreign crime organization ran by the Chinese , Pakistanis and ither foreign nationals. People come to Nigeria and do crimes and you are blaming Nigerians cz thats your automatic reaction. Even in your country the ones doing it the most are your fellow country men but the 1% Nigerians that are involved, you try to make it viral and general and place the blame. Be honest with yourself.
Only an Idiot think Nigeria leads in scams lol. There has NEVER been a fraud list in which Nigeria was in the top 5. Top 10 maybe, not even top 5. BTW America is in the top 10! People just like to pin everything on Nigeria, because they think it is an easy victim.
Note: Lagos is not the largest city in Nigeria
What is it then
@ na village 😂
Remember it's not Nigeria, but SOUTHERN Nigeria!
They had been, are and will be the ones who believe that such bs is a hustle.
Despite the north being over 200 tribes and religions, they don't stoop to the levels of the more "liberal" and "educated" than the southerners.
Its a culture at this point.
Even if employment is 100% mofos won't stop
Painful but fact!
Which Nigeria true be told those guys will go scot free there's nothing there will be no prosecution nothing
All you have to do is to give efcc bribe and that's it
