Afraid my old hernia would blow out watching that one! Thanks for sharing...
Your frustration level seems high on this one . We’ve all had these ones. Best thing to do is head out to the truck, have a smoke, gather your thoughts and patience. Head back in and get it done. Jobs aren’t worth that energy wasted on frustration. Keep up the great work. 👍🇨🇦
I was about to say the same once I get pissed and try to keep going I start making more mistakes
Exactly! I do the same thing, I tell my techs to do the same before they make it worse or waste time.
Helps to know when to stop and know what you’re doing ain’t gonna work either. Time for plan B,C,D...
@@globeflicker9216 I’ve been in this business since I was 18, I’m now 65. Takes a time or two to remember but better to stop than to completely make a mess. Best sign of a good apprentice is one who stops and asks before lowing ahead. Signs of a good mechanic is knowing when to stop and breath.
@@waltradcliffe4482 Yeah the problem with that is it costs everybody more. It also may cost you your job. Bosses don’t like losing money. Better to work smart than angry.

Owner some days, Boss some days, lead mechanic others. Most of all I teach by learning everyday. A good boss knows how to tell a mechanic or apprentice take 5. I know when I’m explaining something, they get it. Go smoke a cig or work on something else, come back to this with a better plan. The right help, experience, finesse and tools will cover the rest.
Know when to stop when you’re frustrated and most of all - when it’s not gonna happen, before you eat the can of worms.
I’ve been carrying tool boxes, wrenches and Freon jugs since the mid 70’s, so we both have the same time in the trade.
Pass on what we learned so younger techs will understand older stuff. Always pay attention for new tech, don’t bark from the porch if you don’t understand it.
A good apprentice, that’s a gold mine. They stop before bodging the task, they pick up quick when your teaching. Work time they want to know what’s next. Then those ones buy their own tools quick or you give them a couple (drill, proprietary), you keep them moving, never let them stand around.

Great job on that swap out.
Sorry it was a bear to change out.
Thanks
Why didn’t you just heat it up? That cast-iron would take a ton of heat and be able to burn out that fiberglass plastic?
Hey. In this case , Can you install new low water cut off to different location and disregard the old one? Second question, can you install at where the automatic bleed valve behind the rise ?
My man's rocking the olight
man that tee was hell...thought you put it even harder
Good job
And I see your face is healing up a lot
Prayers working 💪
He would also say it’s a real shit show mama
This ain’t no Taj Mahal! 😂
Actually the Taj Mahal isn’t all that great in comparison, it’s kind of a dump now.
I felt the strain through the video.. that sucks dude..
It would have been a good idea to put in a union in that location instead of a coupling. Always think about future service work.
definitely would have been the right thing to do. But he's thinking "fuck 'em, not my house, propress it is!"
Considering there was a peice of that water cut-off stuck in the T, couldn't u put an adapter in the T then the water cut-off to prevent a similar scenario from happening again?
Where was you milwaukee cut off tool in the beginning I just thought that would be easier I'm just a newbie just wondering
that looks like 1-1/4" pipe work to me, all the power cutoff tools are only good to 1" I think.
Ahh, the ritual “Where the hell did I put the (name any tool)?” dance. I’m a master at it. Nine times out of ten it’s right in front of you and the tenth time it’s in your hand. Jeeze.
Curios on your perspective to why you pump on return and don’t bring your domestic into point of no pressure change?
Hey Joey man, work smarter not harder! Way to disconnect vent pipe. Nice shout out to "Steve Lav" The Master Plumber!
The backup wrench Sir Tuesday is just around the corner.
Back up wrench 101. Unnerving to see him over tightened the new one. SMH
Geeee wizzzz, you couldn’t get the tee any tighter?
Get a set of Bahco Wrenches
Wow that fought the whole way!
Man that was a milk run service call, shoulda taken 5 minutes to swap. Been there when that same can of worms opened up, it happens. Worst part is you wind up eating the cost on materials. I’d rather make a dime than a dishonest dollar.
Just a tip on those probes, hand tight means different things to different people. The gorilla strong guys can really torque them up without realizing it. I’m not that strong and sometimes that’s a plus, like with these. I’ll hand turn them in, put them under water pressure, then tighten if it leaks - 100’s of em, never a leak.
BTW, Pro Press! Absolutely, never had a leak on a joint and looks professional too. Too bad S Lav hates them, but he’s good with solder, so I get that.
Be safe, have a good day!

You need a bigger boat, I mean Wrench! Nice video!. Hope you are doing better from that bad gas valve. Garfield hate's Monday's!
Thought we were gona get a 2 fer today tape and pipe dope for our pleasure lol!!!
To bad you didn’t have a tap, might of chased the pieces out. Go to Hydro-level LWCO . Cheer up we all have those days👍
It doesn’t need to be that tight . Most non pipe fitters can’t help themselves with threaded fittings and proceed to nearly split the fittings. Sorry but very few don’t know how to correctly make a connection and simply leave it for the next guy to deal with.
a pipe tap would have cleaned the threads right out, with a bit of percussive maintenance with hammer/screwdriver(chisel) first. lol
yeah, I know who carries pipe taps around anymore? well, some folks still do :)
Way to suck it up and get the job done!
OLD PLUMBER HERE...my boiler is 63 years old and I will keep it...this new modern stuff is all SHIT...made to break in three years
MAN! That tee was TIGHT!
I guess the guy who put it on thought his job mattered.
!
pipe tap
Dancing with boiler,.... Respect..... :D
Steve says KISS keep it simply stupid
y do that shit get tap and run it in out 2-3times blk beard
3/4" pipe tapp. 5 minute replacement.
Very uncomfortable watching someone struggling all of the time.
Didn't have that 3/4 tap in my back pocket
Ahhh, just jump it out.........😁
