Ah spontaneous pneumothorax..it’s usually a pretty easy procedure with a simple solution, like shu was describing. It happens often in tall, thin, young men. It can be bad sometimes if it’s a lot of air and very spontaneous tho, my brother had to have surgery the 2nd time it happened to him so it wouldn’t happen again (and then it happened for a 3rd time years later on the other lung). Cases like this you need to stay in the hospital. Seems like shu was able to be discharged immediately with conservative management and hasn’t needed to worry about it reoccurring, thankfully And yes, it does leave a scar. The tube is inserted in the side of the body or closer to the back usually. In emergency cases, pressure is relieved before inserting the tube by first poking a small hole in the chest (using like a skewer, idk the medical term lol). It sounds barbaric but it’s a lot worse than leaving the air inside. My brother described the feeling like he was drowning but still able to breathe, since literally only one of your lungs is working properly during it.
cant believe I just learnt Shu had a spontaneous pneumothorax like what lol but yeah guys dont worry if its not a lot of air its not really a big deal... also patients who get this are often young men who are tall and thin, so given that I might have to consider Shu a tol boi now lol
i can see where shu get his humour from, i cant imagine my friends going 'CAN I DRINK FANTA OUT OF YOUR CHEST TUBE' (love the editing btw! the bgm music kinda boppin)
Your editing is so good!! (。・ω・。)ノ♡ also this guy could literally go through the zombie apocalypse and be like "yeahh kinda sucks ngl" like bro what LMAO
Yeah, joking about injuries is funny but people can get concerned if it sounds severe. Like I joke a lot about getting hit by a car (I had a car accident a few months ago) and I sometimes get strange looks from people who don't know the context (I wasn't hurt badly, just pulled some muscles and got bruised a bit - but it was a bit spectacular because I probably fainted from shock and scared some passer-bys)
unrelated but i was working on my uni lecture and it started to talk abt a similar procedure shu described and i was like "omg isn't this what shu had" and i came back just to find this video 😭 the niji brainrot is real
