1:04:25 All of them were scared to be alone, that's why they ignored all of the red flags in every relationship they had. All of their decisions were based on the same needs.
This movie is a classic for an older generation of people. I was in middle school when it came out, and I didn't understand the significance and relatability at the time. I will say it's easier to see other people's struggles and feel that you'd never find yourself in similar. That's how I felt as a young adult as well. Life has a way of humbling us all and and making us understand that we're all a work in progress. Keep on living and you'll understand better by and by.
it is so refreshing to see guys your age empathize with the women in this movie while also holding them accountable for their moments of hypocrisy. this movie is a perfect time capsule of what dating outside of major cities was like. i would recommend listening to the audiobook. waiting to exhale wasn't just about dating; it was about the overall social struggles of upwardly mobile black women.
Whitney was having those inner thoughts cause she was basically mimicking the stereotypes those women at the table were thinking about her after all they men said she could sit at the table
They had everything planned and set to film the sequel of that movie in the summer of 2012 and had it released in late 2012 or early 2013. But because Whitney Houston passed away in early 2012, the movie was cancelled.
That moment between angela and weslt was actually beautiful. They both needed something and it wasn't sex. In the book, they eventually end up tougher AFTER is wife passes and they never have sex before that. They become each others emotional support in a time that they both needed it.
Hey Cam here (the dude on the right) I picked up on that as I was editing and can definitely see it now. It was hard to see when we were watching because damn near everybody was cheating or helping somebody cheat. By that point we were done with everybody bs. 😂😂 Now I will still say he wrong for spending the night with and spooning Angela when he was married lol.
I know this is an old reaction. I just now came across these guys. I think that they didn’t understand this from a middle age point of view. I really believe that these guys well at least two of them wasn’t mature enough to understand the context of this movie fully. Because they weren’t cheating they were dating. No one was really in a committed relationship but Angela Bassets. And they didn’t get that Robin was already messing with Russell she was in love with him unfortunately. He just came in like a new Jack. They didn’t show him in the beginning. She knew he was married that’s why she was trying to date others. They just weren’t good choices. lol Mentality they just weren’t grasping the concept.
You gentlemen are hilarious and very open minded, keep up the great work. Your reactions are entertaining. Movie Suggestion: Miracle at Saint Anna's and Antoine Fisher
In the book, Gloria has a heart attack and ends up in the hospital. The movie was going to depict this storyline as well. That's why she had problems blowing out the candles on the cake. And why she also had a moment of detachment when offering dinner to Marvin. During the editing phase of the movie, they decided this storyline would take the film in a different direction so they edited the scene from the movie. They had already filmed scenes with Gloria in a hospital bed.
New subscriber here! I really loved and admired y'alls authentic, funny, and honest reactions. It's so refreshing to see men of our generation with morals and values!💛🥰
To me, I always thought "Waiting to Exhale" was/is a good movie. It's a classic. Yes these women made some mistakes but it's a realistic movie, a relatable movie. Perfectly imperfect. People made these same mistakes before and are still making them now. But you see how they were all able to learn from them and do what's better for them (especially Robin and Savannah). I feel like it's better to be single and happy than to be with someone in a relationship that is not working(not happy) and doesn't seem to be getting any better. But of course if you don't think you can be happy being single, then you need to decide if the relationship is worth fighting for. Or perhaps, your next relationship will be better. When you know better, you do better and if you've been in a bad relationship, then you know what things you don't want/do want for your next if you decide to start over.
I think the overall message of the movie is that sometimes you have to wade through trash before you get what you truly deserve 🥰✨ NB The 90’s used a lot of (occasionally soppy) music to set the mood 😂 - New Jack City comes to mind now 🎊
She never confirmed (or denied) that she was in a relationship when she wrote the book but she did say the characters and relationships with the men in their lives were based on her and her girlfriends and their past relationships.
When I was watching the movie with my sister for the first time, the scene when Savannah (Whitney Houston 💖🙏)had these inner thoughts at the NYE party, and the women were looking at her with the stank face, they had this weird fear someone so beautiful might take their men away from them 🫤
This movie is crazy with all the crazy and ridiculous relationship nonsense between men and women. That’s why I love Two can play that game the most. RIP to Whitney. It’s been a decade since she’s been gone.
Waiting To Exhale is the quintessential chick flick. It was directed by Forrest Whitaker & was based off of Author Terry McMillian’s book. Please watch the following movies based off of Terry McMillian’s books: How Stella Got Her Groove Back Disappearing Acts
Bernie going off & cleaning out Jon's closet? All improvised by Ms. Angela Bassett. Forest told her to have at it & called action. Queen shit. One of thee best to ever do it
I would be really interested to see y’all cover one of Spike’s more recent joints- Ones like Da 5 Bloods, even Da Sweet Blood of Jesus (which is so weird, and almost bad even 😆) Love y’all’s content and always look forward to the new posts.
It amazes me how out of touch and emotionally unintelligent this generation is. I was 19 when this came out and understood and felt every word of the letter Wesley wrote in it's context smh
hello i watch waiting to exhale movie they have a good cast i like the characters on this movie with lela rochon and michael beach and angela bassett loretta devine and whitney houston all those women was gorgeous in this movie
Girl ni 😮😅😢I still have nightmares from that and the dvd 📀 😅 I haven't seen it in 10 years they try to repeat it in Jamaica but I be turning the station and they haven't done that in 3 years 😅😅
I think you in the middle overidentified with this movie. It's a tale of bad decisions people make in relationships and the journey toward growth. 3/4 of the women were involved in infidelity because its an easy story to tell. It's black and white.... However, this movie requires you to go a bit deeper than just the surface of infidelity for the message.
I just hit play on the interview w/ Choke y’all busters ain’t let Choke get not a single word in the whole time sup wit’cha’ll yo - IT’S JUST BAD FORM YA IN LOVE WITH YA OWN VOICE shut
Love your reactions. Glad I found this channel. But this movie is simply about desperation, heartache and people's weird issues with being alone. I don't understand it myself, I love my own company but that's usually what bring people to mess with married men IMO. I haven't seen it since I was a child, but it's just pure entertainment to me at this point cause the idea of women running around chasing behind ANY man is low vibrational at best to me but it's based on the book by Terri McMillan ...IFYKYK.
All bs aside i wonder if Whitney stay sober during this whole project i only ask that because of the woman Ms Angles and Ms Lorreta are i know they didnt play that
@@Kim-427no you right but she wss snornting coke before she started smoking crack is why i asked that question but then agian the question was was she SOBER why she did the movie doesnt always have to do with drugs there are many things ppl can be addicted to

I'm definitely glad I came across this video! Yall had me rollin!!🤣🤣😅 I definitely needed this pick me up after the day I had today! Keep doing what yall doin. Yall be keepin it the realest with these movie reviews. I never seen a chick flick from men's perspective before. Yall definitely be speaking major facts tho! Yall definitely need to do more chick flick movies! Lol I'm loving this!!💯 fareal!
You know Angela Bassett is gonna give a great performance in anything she does.
And is! ❤❤
This movie and What's Love Got To Do With It are Angela Bassett classics
@ztomas1 definitely but what about How Stella got her groove back ?
@@mutantx2372 I think this was a good one too but I think Waiting to Exhale and What's Love Got to Do with It really highlighted her acting skills

Two Can Play That Game is my recommendation, good sirs. Good to chill out with yall again...or stress because this movie was kinda crazy

The funny part is that in the second book we discover that Wesley’s wife was never sick and he was a bigamist 😂😂😂😂😂 just trifling

That letter from Wesley went over y’all heads lol
Yesssss! The whole movie went over their heads to me. I just don’t think they were mentally able to truly get what this movie was trying to convey.
lol this was so funny from a man’s perspective I love the advice at the end. Yall should watch:
1. The Best Man
2. The Green Mile
3. Love Jones
Mrs. Bassett need many Oscars! That woman is phenomenal!

Oh wow, I've never heard that one. That makes sense tho.
The Bodyguard with Whitney Houston is a good one i recommend or How Stella Got Her Groove Back! 🔥
I love The Bodyguard but then, I always had a little crush on Kevin Costner. The way he was at her funeral 😭😭😭 had me🤔.

Off work, a blunt and a Kickback tv review, always right on time ⏲️ 👌 👍 💯
Terry McMillan, the author of the book the movie was based off, was sort of going through her own relationship troubles when writing the book
She never confirmed (or denied) that she was in a relationship when she wrote the book but she did say the characters and relationships with the men in their lives were based on her and her girlfriends and their past relationships.
