Those days are gone...we're fortunate Robert's still performing. He's always been willing to experiment with different kinds of music. His collaboration with Alison has been good for both of them.
He got that shirt from Lansky Bros in Memphis, TN, famous for making Elvis Presley’s clothes. The shirt he’s wearing is the same kind Elvis wore on the Milton Berle show in 1956. I know because I’ve bought the same shirt from Hal Lansky himself😂 there was a picture of Robert Plant with Hal Lansky in the store, and according to Hal, Robert Plant still shops there from time to time
Celebration Day was the end and it left a great final impression. Why does Plant have to keep singing Stairway the rest of his life? He’s had a ton of success with Allison and awards as well. Let him make the music he wants to, he’s earned that right.
@@marknoahsotelo316 Why does he keep singing Rock N Roll now? And not even singing it well. What's that note he tried to find on, 'Baby, let my love come runnin' in'?! That was cringe-inducing. Look at all the people sitting in their seats. There's no energy there. He offers that excuse of not wanting to sing the old songs and looking for new things but he's never quit singing the Zeppelin tunes. Now it sounds like he can't, even re-worked. I prefer to remember them in their glory.
@@earlmaclellan2504 If you're talking to me, actually I am a musician. But you're correct, times change and people age and with that aging, singers lose their vocal range. It happens to almost everyone. Even Paul McCartney. So Plant cannot sing probably most of the Zeppelin songs in their original keys. Just listen to this video and if you're honest, he does not sound good. Now on another video I heard him doing In The Mood and that song didn't sound anywhere near as bad as Rock N Roll sounded. It has nothing to do with a lack of respect. Would it be respectful to say he sounds like a 20 year old when you know for a fact he doesn't?
@@donyoung7874 The only thing I say here is Plant is a legend, along with McCartney and other aging musicians ! My opinion they can sing where, what and when they want and with who! Of course the vocal power is not there but you open your ears to that in a positive way, if someone doesn’t like the video clip , move on with the mouth shut haha, it’s called musician respect!
Also if ya dig and enjoyed this song with Mr Plant 😀 you may also enjoy the song " Most of All " By Glenn Kaiser and Where Roses Grow Live by Rez Band Awesome songs check them out. I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and a good question to ask yourself if you were to die today would you go to heaven ? And if yes why ? To find out more please read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on TH-cam. 😀
I’m a huge Alison Kraus fan ant not much of a Led Zeppelin fan. That being said seeing them in concert I was even more impressed with Robert Plant than Alison. That’s crazy hard to do!
I don't think it's disrespectful to compare which classic still works well on stage in 2024 (When the Levee Breaks) and which one doesn't (Rock n Roll).
Saw them at my church picnic in Dodge city kansas, terrible, the amps kept blowing the breaker and Plant was chugging on some red stuff in a bottle. The guy at the CD music store said he came in complaining because none of his cds were selling. He did a carioke thing at a bar and drank more red stuff.
@@earlmaclellan2504 He's a legend without ever singing another note in his life. Continuing to do songs that you can no longer pull off does not do anyone's reputation any good. He's singing Rock N Roll in a key lower than the original, there's nothing wrong with that at all. But when you sound flat even then, maybe it's time to reconsider what you're doing.
@@donyoung7874 so what? Plant in my books can sing where, when, what and with anyone he wants! I would be there to cheer him on in a heartbeat! Wow! You obviously aren’t a working musician haha
@@earlmaclellan2504 You don't know if I'm a working musician or not. And I don't have to play bars to be a musician. That's the beauty about playing guitar, you can do it at home. And if you play acoustic, you can play anywhere. Am I on the scale of a Robert Plant? No, I'm not but that doesn't mean squat. Don't be a jerk. Apparently you don't know music either if you think what Plant is doing now is any good. He's doing shows for the money and probably to stave off boredom. Dude, he's in his mid 70's and has been performing for 50 years. It takes its toll physically. If YOU were a musician, you would know that. I saw Zeppelin in 1977 and honestly, they did not sound as full live as they did on record. How could they when Page would stack multiple guitar parts on records, but was the only guitarist on the stage? It was different and not quite as powerful as the recordings. That's just my opinion but I did see them on their last tour with John Bonham. If you enjoy his music and want to fork over the money to attend his shows, more power to you. But you're lying if you say what he's doing is as powerful or as relevant now, as the music he made decades ago with Led Zeppelin. It isn't. I have all the Zeppelin albums that I bought in the 70's and will not part with them, but I have no desire to see Plant and Alison Krauss.
Nice little ditty version.. but come on Robert, introduce the younger generation to real fricken rock n roll for a reunion.. bonhams boy is a masterful drummer who 100 percent respectfully would represent his father… Jimmy is waiting .. so am I.. anyone getting younger out there? I guess I’m selfish! Lol
I been a Zeppelin fan since 1970. I have defended Plant over last 20 years when my wife says she doesn't want to hear him now because he can't sing or hit high notes anymore. And now I agree. This basically butchered a great song. He can't sing it so they slow it down and she sings with him to help cover up how bad it is
Times change, people age, Plant is not washed up, far from it, give him some respect, you go on stage and sing in your mid 70s ! Wow, obviously you aren’t a musician

Fiddle solo was awesome! Good to see older rock stars having some fun, and not taking it all so seriously, great job!
I agree 100% with you my friend🎼🎼🎼
Thank God I seen them in 77.The greatest
Although I remember clearly the thunder and the glory of the original LZ, really nice to see Mr Plant performing. 🎉❤
Thank you for sharing.
You both are amazing ! The band too
He’s happy !
