I’m already 32 and i regretted the time i’ve wasted not embracing my real self and not pushing myself to be with someone whom i really like. I regretted everything! So if i would have been given a chance, i would definitely go back to my middle school life. I want to pursue those things ive been regretted. I will be true to myself. I'm Taiwanese I was born after 2000,this movie symbolizes the youth of our generation. When it was released, almost everyone in Taiwan was watching it. I still crying today 😭😭
I watched this movie for the first time at the age of 14. I remember at the time I fell in love with it and cried a lot. At that time I learned that whoever loves you will not give up and that we must reveal our feelings clearly because the other party will not know how we feel if we do not tell him. Today, at the age of 18, I watch it again and it has returned to occupy a large space in my heart. And I still cry over its details. This time, I learned something more that what is meant for you, even if it is delayed, you will get it. I learned that whoever truly loves you will never forget you or your memories. One of the greatest films I have ever seen in my life.

I watched this as a teenager and now I'm years older yet nothing still tops this movie for me and still makes me cry every time I watch it :') Their story is so beautiful and I really love their friendship too! T^T I've always wished there's a sequel to this movie I want to see them expressing their love openly namaaaan!!! T^T

Exactly! Watched it many times before. Still bummed that they change the actor & actress in the end. It's not like the actor is bad or anything...it's just i'm feeling more attached with the chemistry between the actor and actress that played the younger version more. It's like growing together throughout the movie. Always wanted them to just keep the same actors.

They are invited to do a cameo as a surprise for the audience that's familiar with Taiwanese drama. Yet I do agree story-wise it would be better to stay with the two original actors.
So sweet that he said I love you in Italian at the end of the tape. Sweeter still is that when he is older and they meet again Jerry Yan plays his part. What a beautiful movie!

So good to be back. I watched this movie a couple of times already back when I was still in 10th grade. At that time, after watching it couple of times I still enjoyed watching it with a guy classmate. We got together on 11th grade & broke up at 12th. Skip to this day, I graduated college already, and hearing its theme song again, reminds me of those good times and with that guy cm/my ex. I'm watching it again now in my room, thinking about him, guess what? I'm watching it again with that guy inside my heart. Wishing to see this movie again with him after 6 years. This is so bizarre. The channel's catalogue of movies are filled with lesser known 70-90s Western movies, then out of the blue came this Taiwanese masterpiece from the 2010s. I guess we humans are not that different after all. It appeals to us just as much as it appeals to you. In our complex world we all can relate to how innocent our youth was, our first romance - I cannot explain why but this particular movie captures these things much better than any similar movie we produce here (in the USA).

The original full version is more about a grown up woman and is more about Andy Lau - her own idol of the female director. 🎉 Vivian, at the end, could not recognise Darren's voice. And, of course, it was difficult for her to recognise him after 20-30 years. The main actress should be about forty something at the end of this version and should not be so youthful at the end of this movie.😅
Watch this again, i remember watching this when i was in college. Most of my friends watch this and we cried. This is nostalgic, i still cried. This movie is so beautiful don't know how to explain. I'm ugly crying now 😭

Highly recommend this movie…I’m surprised it’s on TH-cam! It was so popular and successful when it came out in Taiwan. Even though I was living abroad I heard of this film and later watched it. And the anonymous chain letter was a real thing in my childhood 😂
9/10♥️ Its these types of movies or shows that definitely makes a place in the hweart for them. Not much are there. Its very rare really. Spoiler- I am not satisfied 😭😭😭😭 I wanted more of them. Even though he told her he loves her through the tape recording but she never got to confess to him😭😭she wanted to tell him through her diary that she likes him but he didnt take her diary 😭😭 She even dated other men. I mean is that necessary. Do you always have to be in a relationship?😭😭😭such a good story but disappointed with the ending. Needed just a bit more

I loved a person for 9 years ..I was 6 when I saw him for the first time and started falling for him ..I did all the crazy stuffs a person can do for their crush .. however,I never had that balls(guts) to say this all. I remained silent ..later I got to know that he has a girlfriend..while watching this movie I got all the flashbacks back then ..never thought I would cry so hard just to remember all this again ..btw the movie was awesome..❤

i've watchrd this movie years ago. i didn't want to watch it again but i still did. i cried so hard towards the ending. when a movie made u cry, it really is a good movie.
So good to be back. I watched this movie a couple of times already back when I was still in 10th grade. At that time, after watching it couple of times I still enjoyed watching it with a guy classmate. We got together on 11th grade & broke up at 12th. Skip to this day, I graduated college already, and hearing its theme song again, reminds me of those good times and with that guy cm/my ex. I'm watching it again now in my room, thinking about him, guess what? I'm watching it again with that guy inside my heart. Wishing to see this movie again with him after 6 years. He's in abroad now and he's trying to win me back again after being apart for years. Maybe I'll watch it again with him. (Ily💗)

I’m Brazilian and don’t know much about Taiwan but this felt like watching a shoujo live action 🥹🫰🏼 easily one of my top ten romance movies now!
there's a thai movie called A Crazy Little Thing Called Love, and it has similar vibes and storyline to this! I recommend watching it as well if you like Our Times.

I guess we humans are not that different after all. It appeals to us just as much as it appeals to you. In our complex world we all can relate to how innocent our youth was, our first romance - I cannot explain why but this particular movie captures these things much better than any similar movie we produce here (in the USA).

Watched it many times since i was a teenager. Still bummed that they change the actor & actress in the end. It's not like the actor is bad or anything...it's just i'm feeling more attached with the chemistry between the actor and actress that played the younger version more. It's like growing together throughout the movie. Always wanted them to just keep the same actors.
The original full version is more about a grown up woman and is more about Andy Lau - her own idol of the female director. 🎉 Vivian, at the end, could not recognise Darren's voice. And, of course, it was difficult for her to recognise him after 20-30 years. The main actress should be about forty something at the end of this version and should not be so youthful at the end of this movie.😅
"Truly" in Mandarin could mean 'truly love someone'.
