Vanilla Barrens - Gameplay No Commentary, ASMR (1 hour, 4K, World of Warcraft Classic)

- I am playing an young orc named Doomhorn, who is massacring everything he comes across too: wild life, Venture Co. Peons or Harpies. No magic involved. Just brute force. And his 2 hand weapon. After the Durotar experience ( • Durotar - Gameplay, No... ), Doomhorn moves in The Barrens, to continue his quests in the Orc / Horde territories, the main quest hub being The Crossroads.
Barrens Vanilla is like you know it, calm but deadly at every step. From any bush a lion might ambush you, the wild life is not evenly distributed by level (in the north you can find beasts which are 4-5 levels higher than the one in the center), it can be really tough for a class which is gear dependent. Like the warrior. As Arms it's really fun to level up, but also challenging. Attacking mobs 2-3 levels higher than you can often lead to a graveyard run, unless you are geared properly. My general conclusion so far: warriors are forced to play Protection and run a lot of instances.

This is my way to remake my previous gameplay in the Barrens (th-cam.com/video/hxNnmn4-5Bo/w-d-xo.html - it's not exactly the same, this is a Tauren Shaman gameplay). I'll probably will do at least one more gameplay in The Barrens Vanilla, in the southern area. But that will be in on a long term.

i mean this game was developed in early 2000 even late 90s i think these graphics are insane for its age and very insane that you could play so many players at a time in a big open world back in 2004. This game was far ahead of its time
Yeah its crazy isn't it? They were already working on Vanilla WoW even before Frozen Throne was released.
Yup, thats what happens when you spend 10 years developing a game before release. Instead of developing it for a year and releasing a buggy mess that is yet to be patched and turned into a semi-playable game within another few years, then finally forgotten after the hype blows over. 🥲
Old school wow music and leveling is mesmerizing. What a bomb of nostalgia this is.
Sometimes it's very nostalgic and fun to watch such videos. Vanilla is not dead. And it's great. Excellent patch, without anything extra things, just hardcor. Indeed, killing mobs even 2 lvl higher you may be so hard. But it's a spirit of childhood in some ways. Also OST is perfect. At once you are getting deep into that time, when listening

And to make a comparison with Retail, even after the 7.3.5 level scaling was introduced, the mobs are not harder, they just have more HP. Vanilla is more harsh, therefore the rewards mean more.

I absolutely love these videos when i'm writing my programs for college. I like how you have no commentary so you can hear the relaxing music and game sounds, brings me back to those days when I played with a full group of friends. I haven't played this game is years, but I leveled a ton of Horde alts through the Barrens and it's one of my favorite video game zones of all time. Thank you for this nostalgia trip!

was here 6yrs ago, came back today for more, still as good as ever,
I leved up in Barrens god only knows how many times and to add to that i was an undead rogue. I despised the gloomy silverpine forest so i would run all the way from eastern kingdom to crossroad just to experience it's quests, music and most of all comunity. No other zone can give you that!

gameplay, music, ambience, creatures, spells and ability's..vanilla barrens. i never played classic, but i did started to play from patch 2.1 and i gotta say, i miss it and love it so much. while cata is my fav exp after tbc, i HATE the revamped azeroth and the new music they put in there. another great video as always.
One of the best zones to unwind.
I just realised, what I miss most in RL compared to WoW: It is the Hearthstone. In the blink of an eye, you are back home.

I’ve been hitting these videos like a nostalgic crack pipe.
I always preferred playing the defensive stance. It just makes more sense to have a shield and not get hit by every enemy attack. On the other hand you have to go with one of the other two if you are planning on becoming a damage dealer in groups.
I've tried defensive stance while rehearsing for this gameplay, it proved to be inefficient. I took less damage from individual hits, but the duration of the fight increased and in the end I was getting the same amount of total damage but spending more time killing a mob.
Later, if I will gear up with better equipment this might change.

I like this gameplay video! I never really played that often as Horde before Cataclysm, so I'm not too familiar with the old Barrens. I'll have some research to do whenever the vanilla server comes out.
I think it's really exciting to discover "what's on the other side". Places that you are usually avoid with the other faction, now you are there, and they are all your friends now :)
Vanilla was awesome, no matter which side were you.
People rush through this epicness to reach end game.. well I always did the opposite. Enjoying the journey and quitting when it came to raiding.
Leveling in The Barrens is the best.

I miss the immersion and sense of accomplishment when you traversed this new land; it's all so fast now to level a new character. I do enjoy some of the lifestyle changes in retail; but I still think it is way too easy. Missing the old days.

Nice! So this is how the Barrents looked like in vanilla, without that big crack in the middle. It looks kind of different aside from the southern barrens and northern barrens. I remember the feeling of seeing it for the first time, and an interesting fact is that i was with an alliance character and i am not even sure how i've got there, but i did somehow (i wasn't coming from ashenvale, i'm sure of that). :))) I still remember how i used to jump in any portal or any boat or anything i saw that time, so i guess that is how i've got there..., with the boat.. :'> Awesome video, as always! ^~^
From Booty Bay to Ratchet or from Dustwallow Marsh to Southern Barrens if there was a boat involved.
But if not, the other choices where Ashenvale, Stonetalon Mountains, Thousand Needles. Mulgore or Durotar might be out of the question!? :)

The Barrens are nostalgic, but man do I wish that they hadn't made it so freakin huge for how early in the game it is simply because of the amount of running you have to do before you have access to a mount. At the very least it's full of flight paths though

Hehe, to be honest, it didn't bothered me that much this time, I enjoyed walking through the savanna. And I think there is an advantage of sharing this big land with a lot of players with a large interval of levels, you can get help easily from a good stranger just walking by, doing his higher level quest.

i remember when i started playing(mid wotlk) and i was doin this 1 quest and this lvl 24+(forgot the class) came and ask me hey u need some help? and i was like YYEEESS!! i think I was on the Minotaur quest lol
i loved how huge it was. sure, getting from a to b often was a hastle, but it made you feel so small and insignificant - sth. the modern wow cant give you anymore.. now you're always that champion everybody heard of.. which is logical after all you've done, but being some adventurer that helps locals with small tasks always felt more relatable to me.. i mean.. just standing before thrall the first time made you feel so small and the urge of paying respect arose in me

In short, I like my PC up to date - I've built a PC good for capturing & editing these videos. Not too sure if the technical details will interest a lot of people, since my videos barely even hit few thousand views. But I can share some of the details with you: my main computer is an i7-8700K @ 3.70Ghz liquid cooled, GTX1080Ti, 32GB RAM, M2 SSDs etc. So no issues whatsoever in running Classic WoW in 4K with everything to the max (take very few resources to be honest).

There is an option to change the quality in 4k once you are actually viewing it on a 4k monitor

It's your point of view and I respect that. But think about this: if there were so many people paying for that monthly, maybe you missed some aspects when you decided to call it boring and repetitive.
@@Meisio Or maybe they're just slow. Looking at this footage you can tell this is brain damaged-tier gameplay. Literally doing the same thing over and over for hours with barely any story narrative. There's like 4 different quests in the entire game and you have to repeat reskins of the same quest hundreds of times ("hey we're running low on boar blood go fetch some for me" or "go kill 4 bears and 7 wolves". You simply need to be sub 100IQ to enjoy this garbage.
