Well, the framing device is a sequel to the story of 'Wonder' but the actual story takes place before all that.
I have the pleasure to be invited to see this film special premier in Columbus Ohio . Love it everyone has to see this amazing film ❤
Would be nice as a standalone so why connect it to wonder?
Make a real redemption story of the bully or even a sequel about the kid.

it's connected because the story was told in the sequel novel Auggie & Me. hope the movie can still have a lot of julian moments

nope...without the wonder part...it's just about what happened after...and not basically to him...but the whole movie will about the grandmas past...you can read it as graphic novel
Ok um...I always felt bad for the kid who got expelled in that movie but at the same time this film doesn't seem like HIS story of moving forward from that but more a vehicle for something else. Next time give more scenes with the character from Wonder.

This movie was released here in Italy around last Christmas, so I already had a chance of getting around it, and putting aside Wonder and everything related with it (its connections with this one being ephemeral at best), this sadly turned out being just a trite, by the numbers one-like-a-thousand movie, especially since we recently had such good Holocaust flicks like One Life or The Zone of Interest.
Yeah this just gives off superficial vibes.
Dang. I don't get why it was necessary to connect this to Wonder. It's a such because anything with Helen Mirren is good.

I cried watching trailer.
Neat little gimmick to tie a mediocre film to the success of an unrelated one by nonetheless straining to create a connection.
To be fair, it is the same author, and she was the one who wrote the story of Julian's grandmother trying to explain to him, why his bullying was so very wrong. Go listen to the audiobook "White Bird" by RJ Palacio or read the graphic novel and then give the film a chance.
Sounds terribly cheesy, truly boring and utterly predictable. I could perhaps watch it, once it’s free in HBO and nothing better is available.
