That was super good! I'm playing Mushnik in our High School production this spring and this definitely helped solidify some portions of the song acting-wise for me.

Well, that went from "ambiguously Jewish" to "Fiddler on the Roof".

Amusingly, the choreography is described in the actual stage directions as resembling "a demented refugee from Fiddler on the Roof."

At a quick glance, Mushnik looks like Seth Rogen.
Now I’m just picturing Seth Rogen as Mr. Mushnik.

Like many people who have watched this, I’m playing Mr. Mushnik for my high school’s production of Little Shop, but this is the only other guy I’ve seen that grew an actual beard for it. I’m glad I didn’t shave for this, it clearly works!

the tempo is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too slow my god. Did the conductor halve the tempo? its insane, all of the fun and energy in the song is just gone because of how slow it is. And alot of the choreography is extremely corny and weird. But really, mushnik does have a voice, but you have to let him use his voice. Hes got a mad belt hiding in there somewhere, the tempo is holding him back

I know... I played Seymour last year in my school's production, and me and Mushink had very good chemistry, we did a tango, danced, piggy back rides in the song... This needed to have a lot more of energy or faster paced song by the band.

Probably sounds that way because of the camera location, set up and audio/video editing. I was in the back of the auditorium.. live unmic'd band in the front and actor vocals through the sound board, non pro camera mic in second to last row with sound bouncing all over.. I also audio edited to remove echoes etc.
Theatre actors also can play around the beat for dramatic effect, which may also be what you saw.
