    Many thanks for this. My paternal ancestors were from the area, so it's nice to walk in their shoes through your video until I get over from Canada to see for myself.

    St Just in Roseland is one of my number 1 favourite Church and grounds. It is always so beautiful whenever you choose to visit. I loved the walk. You cannot go wrong with stunning scenery, even the clock bell rang. I love your videos and this one has been really one of the best in my favourite bit of heaven. Thanks guys.

    Looks to be a wonderful place to hike, I would imagine the Air Ambulance is a vital service in a rural area. Thanks for the tour.

      @@CornishWalkingTrails hi Sarah.
      Not really a lot of changes...although the chapel I was christened in is now a house & the lifeboat house is a village hall...the bungalow over the river has been modernised.
      The house I was born in had a thatch roof but it is now slate.
      Love to go back in our campervan .but the valley is too much for me these days😢.
      Still A few people there who were there when I was growing up.all getting on a bit now!!xx

    One of our favourite summer walks. Lunch in St. Maws then up past the castle and along to St. Just. Cream tea by the Church car park then back to St. Maws. Will look out for the book this July.

    Hi Sarah and Andrew, a lovely walk in beautiful Roseland, one of my many favourite parts of Cornwall, St Just-in-Roseland churchyard is stunning! Must get that book! The flowering bushes must be blackthorn I reckon, hawthorn flowers a bit later.

    All the blooms at the beginning, really make we want to watch! What a great cause for the book! Did Andrew just compare Sarah to a goat? Be nice!!! ;-) Always SO "punny" Andrew! That was a big puddle! Healthy cows. Walking through farmers' pastures is not something that we have here in the USA. Really muddy walk today. The church is lovely! Thanks to you both! Have a great week!

    Hi Sarah and Andrew, hope you had a really nice weekend !! The church grounds were kept so beautifully , such a great look cation. Unfortunately,we have been experiencing our fair share of rain as well but as the saying goes “April showers bring May flowers”.Our trees are finally coming back to life with green and little hints of blooming flowers 🌸 .So glad your new book worked out very well, seems like the directions couldn’t have been any clearer, great for directionally challenged people like myself lol .Have a fantastic week,Lori

    Another fabulous walk, thank you Sarah and Andrew, but we are biased; a couple of years ago we incorporated this into one of our lengthy treks starting and ending in St Mawes. It was blowing a hooley and very wet but so enjoyable. If one had to spend eternity somewhere, there can be few better places than the grounds of the church in St Just! The Roseland peninsula is a very special part of Cornwall. The walk book, with profits going to the air ambulance is an excellent idea too.

    Last week, we took the ferry from Falmouth over to St Mawes, just to get an icecream, Looks a bit muddy in those fields and thats a bit of a slope up to the tower as i recall. Great filming as ever.

    Beautiful walk and great video as usual :) It is so lovely to see the spring arriving. We also have some flowers here in Norway now. I admire you for crossing the cattle field. I normally try to avoid it after being followed by a herd of oxen in North Devon ion 2017. They didn't harm us though, but followed us with their heads tilted (as if they were going to attack us) until we had passed their "territory". I didn't dare to stop and take photos. As I have later understood; they were only curious and we were the most exciting thing that had happened all day :) But I am still a bit cautious across fields with cattle. Have a lovely Easter :-) Torunn.

    Oh, I'm the first comment!!....My heart was in my mouth waiting for one of you to drop that lovely shiny new book straight into the mud (or worse!) along the route! Haven't been to St. Just in Roseland for a long long time...the day I visited they were having a fete there with Cornish Cream Teas as part of the Daphne du Maurier festival many moons ago. Wasn't there a wedding filmed there for Poldark? Simply stunning little church in a beautiful area of Cornwall. Well done for escaping the rain! J x

    • @CornishWalkingTrails
      @CornishWalkingTrails  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Judy! You are up bright and early and the first to comment! We were asked at the last minute to make this little video and I had very little time to research - I am intrigued by the Poldark connection. There is another walk starting from this church in the new book so we will incorporate then. You are my very reliable Poldark source - thank you!! We are excited to be going to the book launch this evening as we think they might be showing part of our video, should be fun! Sarah :)

    • @judybee
      @judybee 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh dear, my memory not quite right on this occasion!! It wasn't St.Just in Roseland church....it was St. Winnow Parish Church that was used as filming for the first Poldark series in the 70s (not St. Just in Roseland) as the venue for Caroline and Dwight's wedding!! It was the riverside location that I remembered! Apologies! Both beautiful churches though! Enjoy the book launch! x J

    It was a nice blue color on the crab shell but ohhhhh that joke......It looked very muddy in parts but for mid March fair enough. Wearing red or not, I would not walk across the field with cows in, I hate the bloody things lol. The church was very nice and real nice to be able to see in side. Sorry it was only a 7 from me but that could be down to the mud and the standards of jokes this week lol. Cheers Alan

      @CornishWalkingTrails  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1
