Oh also - a large part of the 'folk' sound quality comes from heavy use of pitch bending on the woodwinds and strings I'm using a piccolo VST for the higher woodwind sound but ideally the instrument that would get the sound I was going for would be an Irish tin whistle or other similar folk wind instruments
