Be careful guys while starting the engine inside a room, Do not run engine for a long time inside the room. Carbon Monoxide is dangerous. Please take care.
let me give you some free advice, 1. The Flat slide carb has NO compensation at all for changes in altitude, as the name suggests, as it does NOT rely on engine intake vacuum to meter the slide, unlike a Stock Himalayan CV carb. 2. This specific model uses an accelerator pump that squirts small stream of raw fuel into the carb throat, so, even more catastrophically rich mixture. 3. and If you know anything about these, its why you NEVER twist the throttle on a non-cv carbed bike unless it's running. PS: No matter which type of carb you are running to get the best performance out of the carb (and motorcycle) you will need to adjust the carb for the altitude in which you are riding because JETTING IS BASED ON EFFECTIVENESS. please read more books, and stop these expensive trail and errors.
Alinel Woundhorn, if you watch the video once again you will notice that Vicky and Hemant have said everything you've said here in your comments.. Further, this trial is a 'trial'. Clearly, they are going to fine tune the carb after initial trials..
It seems that the Torque figure has gone up substantially more than the BHP.. Do have the motorbike tested on the Dyno once along with a stock Himalayan so we can get the correct and precise picture. Good going Hemant & Vicky🤘
For a 410cc bike with its max power being developed at 7500 odd rpms, I think the TM 32 would have been the carb to go. Aapko top-end power zyaada milega shayad but bottom end torque will be pathetic. But I would still like to know ki aapka testing kaise gaya. I have a Thunderbird 350 and I have fiddled both with the TM28 and the VM28. Jetting with the flatslide is a pain in the ass IMHO. The round-slide while still being a bit forgiving, 2 din main ek bar needle slot change maangta hi hai. But then when you dial the right settings in, its such a treat.
Thanx for the info bro . Even I had tried VM28 on my avl TB 350 and it was giving superb thortal response . But this TM 36 was pumper carb so it was shooting superb on initial . And u are right about slow pickup . If I wod have put 36 mm non pumper then it WOD b slacky in initial pickup
@@hdtcustoms11188 Yeah I imagine. The general practice is to go one size below the size of the manufacturer recommended CV carb. But you can go one size up as well I guess :p Keep experimenting brother! Hope to see more.
The best fuelling upgrade would be a Dynojet Power Commander with programmable maps for the BS4 version. Its a long-stroke engine so power pe there is a limit with respect to the gains without affecting the structural integrity of some engine parts - conrods especially. But torque can be improved much further in the bottom and mid-range I suppose.
so finally , is it good idea or not ? should we go for this carb upgrade or is it too risky for engine ? i will upgrade soon for 477 cc kit so i wonder about changing Carb as well ...
I fitted this on my TB-350 didn't get good results so changed main jet to stock jet, but somehow I am not happy with this investment. Any suggestions? I am in Hyderabad
Guys can you test the bike power with KTM 390.. is it giving almost same power and performance delievry in 400cc segment bikes? As the stock carb has a power of a 200cc bike.
Just for knowledge, why is this carb better than fuel injection.. ?? Why not mapping ecu of Himalayan FI a better idea? And thats a kick ass Harley by the way.. waiting to the Demo of that bike 😋
I feel carb is better bce thy are relaibel and easy replaceable and it can take any fuel and other side FI need specific fuel and can't get easy replacement for it
Its not that carb is better of FI is better, FI need special setup to generate new maps which need through testing too, I don't think HDT Custom has that facility yet, so resorting to better carb :-) but sudden comparison with KTM 390 was crazy
@@VIKASSAINI007 yes I don't have fecylity for developing racing maps and stuffs in my workshop so v r trying to our best from Wer v can get some more performance and trying to make it better then stock .
No can't do that BCS our Himalayan chassis is not designed for 650 cc engine . If u want put that big buddy in Himalayan chassis then need to reinforce stock chassis otherwise it vll break
Ok . I get 30 kmpl. Platina gives 100 kmpl . It is less than 100 cc. Mine is 411 cc . So re gives better mileage than Bajaj . 😂😂😂😂. I love my Himalayan . Using it from 2016 July . 🤗. Touchwood
Thanx brother for enjoying my comedy . But it's not fast as 390 but bike is faster then other Himalayans and trust me after changing carb it's very next to duke 390 . Only thing which is disappointing is CDI ristriction
Sir, I am not KTM fanboy, but that comparison was kindof crazy, it will help if you show a proper comparison, I cannot see how 25 ps is comparable to 43 ps :-( , I am sure that feeling you got when driving is improvement in low-end torque, or a powermap can tell better I guess

A good team work & excellent initiative. Stage 3 should be the operation on clutch plates & clutch bell.

Hemanth Bhai and Team, you are doing wonderful job and your R&D is very logical, All the best, I am inspired.
Will you be working on camshaft? There's a company TEC auto parts and they've developed a new camshaft for RE Himalayan.
Hemant --- What exact model is this? Google search on Mikuni TM36 shows many price ranges. Is there more specific exact part number with jet?
bro makuni ka carbrator uce 350 cc main lag sakta hai uske lye carbratoe main koi jet to nahi change karna
