- Unboxing and assembly of a new Stihl sh86 leaf blower / vacuum shredder. Showing its first start up and some tuning advice regarding optimal running. I will be doing a separate video with regards to tuning the carburettor as it can get quite complicated if you don't know what you're doing.

My old 1 still runs like a champ mate, it just doesnt have any anti-vibe 😂.So i treated myself. I could prob keep this new 1 going till i retire 👌
I ported mine and opened up the exhaust inner a little sings like a jet now, very boggy/rich from new though.
I'm on my second 86CE, great as a vac which is all I use it for. As a blower, it's a bit gutless compared to my Husqvarna 525BX! Would highly recommend one though! 👍
Yeh i have the husky as well, its good but even better when you open up the restricted muffler on it. The stihl is getting the same treatment, as its choked down as well. 👍

Hi great video. What is the difference in blow power / air flow power between Sh86 and BG86. Is it noticeable? I have heard that there is a difference between Sh86 and Bg86 that Sh86 has a blade to mulch the leaves where as BG86 does not, is that right?
Yep you're right there, the sh86 has the blade and comes with the vacuuming kit. Other than that they are identical blowers and no different to my knowledge. 👍
Hi Rob and thanks for video s enjoy them.I was wondering if you find the vacuum worth it for borders and manicured properties, would you recommend the 86c as im undecided on this or to go husqvarna as just need it for leaves in border and clearing up hedge clippings.Many thanks Ian.
Cheers Ian, The vac is good in certain situations however alot of times I just end up using the blower. Both the stihl and husky (525bx) are good bits of kit.
If you just want a blower the husky would be my choice, but then the stihl does have the added vac setup if you did need that feature. 👍

My bg didn’t come with metal blades. Should I take it back or is there blades I can buy?
Only the SH86 comes with the shredder blade and vac kit etc. The BG86 is just a blower. You can buy the kit to convert it.

Decent machine, but not as powerful as the Husky 525BX.
Yeh, i do like the husky
