Yeah, most people don't realise how difficult it is to do what he is doing. I've been playing for 6 years and probably can't play by ear as well as he does (partly because I don't have perfect pitch).
Yes, he has a knack for this.. Remember his lofi, that basically turned into the anthem of horrors druring covid lockdowns - spelling the new age of doom?
This is good fun 😂. But also, as musicians, even as music teachers, this is a pristine example on the importance and identity of RHYTHM. Without almost any correct note, eddy was able to identify everything. It's a beautiful example
There was a TV show in Germany where people would propose bets. One pair bet that one would identify songs just from the other flexing his chest muscles to the beat. They won. Rhythm is so important and that was the ultimate proof.
Brett trying to play these pieces on the piano is almost like Ibo trying to sing them out after hearing them for the first time. The musicality and confidence is phenomenal.

He knows it is interesting for us the viewers. I especially like the way editor-san sometimes had the original music playing at the same time and other times let Brett play all by himself.
I’m actually amazed at how Brett could play quite a few notes of the melody from each song perfectly! Especially when he couldn’t hear himself but yet carried on to play the right notes? Very impressive!
Brett 100% reminds me of those animated cartoon characters that look as if they're playing the right thing but in reality they're playing something so cursed.
Whenever Eddy leaned over to play something correctly on the piano for Brett, he gave me such inwardly frustrated, outwardly patient piano teacher vibes.
I don't know what's more amazing, the editing that transitions Brett's playing to the actual music (the comedic timing man), or eddy just getting the key smashes because of that snippet of recognizable melody
Can we just appreciate how many classical pieces they both know, especially Eddy figuring out a random bit of the 2nd movement of a lesser known piece?!
Eddy’s chuckles at Brett’s cuteness compensating for his lack of piano skills and perfect pitch are so precious. Eddy (for the first time) being a patient nonjudgmental older brother showing him how to play it correctly is just … I can’t English anymore.
I love how its a twist from the old piano guess games where eddy transcribes and brett guesses the pieces, eddy is truly a legend for figuring out all the pieces and im almost convinced that he could guess most pieces instantly but didnt say it because he wanted to hear the jazzy interpretation of brett a bit more
i THINK THERE'S A LITTLE DISCONNECT AND IMPERFECTION BETWEEN THE PIANO PITCH AND THE ORCHESTRA PITCH, (at least how it plays on my computer!) I inherited my perfect pitch from my musician father- it's a blessing and a curse. Oh, and I really only play piano, but I can tune up guitars and other stringed instruments pretty well.
I relate to this so hard. Brett on piano is literally me with music. I can hear it clear as day in my head, but ask me to repeat it and I'm compete garbage. Doesn't change the fact that I still love music. But man, this was so relatable it hurt.
The moment they started to play together, my heart melted. It was beautiful, instantly reminded me of their tchaikosky section in the virtual tour. Still salty that they didn't react to it properly.
I love how the cursedness of Brett's playing increases as the video progresses

I’d have actually guessed most of these except midsummer night ones. Because he already got the rhythm if he happen to get the right notes 2 - 3 times in a row (even if it’s not the correct pitch) you’d be able to continue it in your head and get the piece name out.
Definitely xD I once guessed Vivaldi in Taboo game when a girl from my team was humming Mozart (and very out of tune) and for some reason I knew she meant Vivaldi xD Our colleague, who like me likes classical music, was laughing so hard he fell of the couch (he was lying on the top of the backrest) and we had to pause the game until we could stop laughing. It became an inside joke in our group for years xD

Brett: I can't hear myself!
Beethoven: I feel you, bro.
While Eddy: I hear the sound of my nightmare.
Brett is Kousei too :0

underrated comment.
LMAO maybe beethoven is deaf bc of brett
Definitely! Eddy on Mendelssohn reconsidering his life choices...
For anyone wondering, as piano gang, I can also confirm that Brett is a professionally trained pianist even though he may not seem like it.
Didn't know this, but I noticed his perfect definition between two notes of a phrase, perfect trill... so amusing.
@@maryferreira141 I noticed the trill too, that's a pretty solid trill

Brett barreling through, spamming random note clusters, then looking right at the camera as if he’s playing it perfectly is giving me life.
He just looks so purely happy
I love the confidence
Lol i agree
That's literally me during piano lesson...
I'm getting golden retriever vibes, like "I did a great job!"
Brett’s defensive “ I can’t hear myself” paired with Eddy looking to the floor/heavens and camera with absolute despair is hilarious 🤣

Brett's little gremlin hunch when he doesn't know what he's doing is absolutely adorable, never change

Brett turns pomp and circumstance into a horror music, such a genius.
Horror jazz

You should do this again but with an extra step of Ibo having to sing Brett's piano rendition to Eddy 😂
