i'm gonna say this right now this character isn't a duelist bro's just a vangaurd in disguise so the insta-lock dps players can somewhat play a tank

That's not gonna stop an instalock duelist from picking a duelist though. If you throw magneto into the duelist category duelist instalocks aren't going to pick him because he's named a duelist, it's about playstyle.

I like that they made him "flexible" across roles. He's not a lot of Duelist aspects, but also Vanguard and Strategist. He's a LITERAL flex pick lol
I can see the duelist and vanguard, but I’m not seeing the strategist. Am I missing something?

@mobius-q873 he gives temporary health to teammates? That sounds like a vanguard/tank ability.
@bleachigo990 He's got a little bit of bonus health for allies on his E, but he's also exceptional at reposition enemies. His right click can pretty easily move enemies around the map and disrupt them.
Healing isn't the only support archetype after all, Supports jsut help enable other characters well
@unbannablebanjo3744 but all these abilities are tank abilities. Yes healing isn’t the only “support archetype” but a defining feature of support is they have the ability to heal. No other class has that ability. Literally every other role has tools to help enable their teammates but that’s not the feature that defines those roles. Duelist/DPS is defined by the ability to do a lot of damage, Vanguard/Tank is defined by being a big bodied character with a higher health pool to control space on the map and absorb damage. Strategist/Support/Healer is defined by their ability provide utility to the team as well as prop their teammates up with their healing abilities. People didn’t start having an aversion to “healers” existing until Overwatch 2. Saying it’s not fun to “heal bot” but no one accurately defines the term heal bot to begin with. Now we have support characters Kiriko and Bap who can out actual DPS characters making the distinction between the two classes muddied or just plain meaningless all for the sake of people not being bored “heal botting”. I won’t deny that the damage output allows for the class to contribute to the team fights more but the worst part is it’s at the cost of distinction/identity and it created a whole generation of players that don’t understand the baseline value(or let alone the concept) of healing. I’m saying this as a support player.

The Ult isn’t about the damage, it’s more about the slowing.
I noticed yesterday while he was ulting and people were trying to get away, they were moving pretty slow for sure.
His ult is mainly about combos.
Pop ult after getting big boy, Scarlet comes in ults and they can’t run away as fast. Ooo that’s goooood!
Or pop ult to slow them, Wolverine comes and grabs with their ult.
It could also go really well with Iron mans ult too because then enemies can't get away as easily

Unless he uses his ult under a roof, then he bounces off the ceiling and it does crazy dps.
Im glad that Mr Fantastic and Invisible Woman and their super interesting kits exists now people can stop saying that all the characters are just Overwatch copies.

As someone with a bit of coding knowledge it hurts to see people just call it orange elasticity even tho the < … was clearly visible and was never in any text before (for people with no coding knowledge, the < orange elasticity missed a \ after the < i believe and should make the ‘elasticit’ text orange colored)

It is the reference with the snowman that it was literally Tony tony Chopper and the torso FORM, not the character itself.
The way he was muscular with his torso, arms, small legs and head, it was Luffy Gear 4th.
It has nothing to do that Reed was created 50 million tears fefore Luffy, it was not that Reed was created based on Luffy, just that particular form, also Chopper.

To be fair I don't think you'd also run up front 24/7 like a literal tank either.
I think he should be able to double jump and activate a parachute if he wanted to.
It's a miss opportunity they didn't add mr fantastic a range grappling as a escape skills if theirs ledges

@@roiwtto0919 It incentives him to play with his team, unlike other duelists that have lots of mobility and can solo easily. Fits the tank like role he seems to have, kinda like storm.

I feel like his ult is primarily for disruption. Create chaos and open up the enemy a bit for your team to follow up.
It is so smart that the devs found a way to fix role queue without having to restrict to 2x2x2. Dps players can play tank without having to change to another class. The same goes to mantis she is a hybrid of dps and support.

Ima say this now his ult will be used with either storms hurricane or phylocks ult since they all do aoe dmg (As a storm main the combo of her ult with mr fantastics ult will go absolutely crazy since very often after i ult people are left at like 1hp which is just perfect for the combo)

Only 7 mins in and it I feel that his ult is meant to engage in team fights since it slows enemies making it hard for them to escape. Lowkey might be good with Wanda ult
i'm pretty sure that Fantastic will be played as the "second tank" on a team comp, so 4 DPS chars on the same team
I think the reason y the third hit continues the ult and not the first 2 is bc maybe you could use it as a way to get over the enemy line to target a support/strategist or someone weak (especially since it slows movement making it hard for players like Jeff to go under ground and run away) . Then you can use the bullet block ability in combination with him pulling himself to a teammate to back up without being killed.
I think he is ofc gonna be in front lines as like a 2nd tank. BUT I think he can push out for backline with his pulling, dmg block, and big mode. Cuz u could ult bounce twice over the tanks (especially Groot and his walls). Also assume it has the trigger properties as winter solider ult he could hit a Loki clone to keep his ult up. Also the fact that his ult goes 3 times makes it so it can be a last ditch run away if everyone on the team is alone and u gotta hold point or back up.
Probably my favorite character in the game rn, the fact he plays like a vanguard and duelist is great. We need more characters like this

Next make thor a "duelist" so the knucklehead dps mains can actually contribute to the team
If you're a smart Thor you'll play him like a duelist actually. 3 left clicks, and his shift give him 100 armor. You can do this on repeat and even if you miss he gets armor he's a great off tank. I only use his F ability to deal with Hawkeye or Punisher turret. I main vanguard btw.
Something to notice about his "cleave" melees. He seems to register a hit on a second target, but there is about a half second delay in actual damage being done. So if you cleave too quickly between targets you won't deal damage with the secondary hit.
I keep hearing Luffy this, Luffy that. This man's kit is literally just Zac from League of Legends, and I'm all for it.
I mean out of all the current popular stretchy characters, I understand why ppl would say he’s like Luffy.
Besides, his passive literally turns him into gear 4 😂

I wouldn't say "on command" cause not only do you have to build up that elasticity from using your kit, but it also activates as soon as that meter is at 100, that's not you pressing a button where he transforms

To me, he looks like he's more about crowd control, but not via damage. Hit punches can hit multiple targets but most of his other moves either reposition enemies or just slow them down. I imagine he's pretty good for controlling team fights. Imagine throwing two people into the range of someone's Ult.

his right click in combination with his left click sweep is whats gonna make him be a great duelist

His ult seems good to use with other ults. I think it would be a strong finisher ult. Because u dont do a lot of damage but u can move really fast.
His ult does more damage and slows more the more you hit the same target(s).
So he is just a hybrid character. This is in quite a few games and the one he seems very similar to is Gnar from LoL. He goes from a range poke/cleave character to a tanky closer range character. He’s a resource management character, you focus on keeping your bar at the amount you want so that once the fight starts you can go in as a tank with the high hp bar. This is a mechanic as I all ready said in LoL with gnar and I love seeing people getting mechanics I’ve seen in league for years in their games 😂

i honestly dont even like these types of games but i play this because of the art style and overall feel of the game. Its pretty impressive and cant wait to see what characters are included.
It's not just the players that don't understand the character, it's the devs too. This is a Vanguard, not a Duelist

I think that’s a good idea, especially for penny nest and when Loki uses his rune

If they just make it so that hitting m1 while in ult immediately makes him slam down so you can spam it faster, that'd be great
When the Elasticity bar is almost full, you basically just go in and use the pull ability and wreck the team
I would prefer a button for the passive, but then it wouldn't be a passive ig

the fact him absorbing dmg isnt his ult is INSANE
I think his ult is more like a low killing ult like it has very big aoe to take out multiple enemies that have to be half or 1/3 of their hp fo it to be useful cause it does slow them, cause his skill do quite alot of dmg and u can turn 360 to hit more and get them low then use ult 🧐

I feel like he has to be a tank because of his kit and he doesn’t have enough dps to me a duelist. His kit is good but it just seems like some of it needs a buff or a revamp I was hoping for him to be able to pull teammates out of danger aswell as pulling enemies towards him but I also thought if he became a vanguard he could just become sort of like a done that teammates can get cover from

I blocked the eye of aggomotto and pulled hulk out of the air when he jumped away in the same game. I feel like a god with mr fantastic. Why would they drop this character like this? You can block anything (that I’ve tried) and deflect it back at 60% damage. He’s kinda crazy. Block team damage and target it at a healer or traps like peni mines. I felt unstoppable in 1 game smh

No its balanced around transforming right when you hit 100 youre supposed to manage elasticity so you dont pop big mode too early a button that makes it auto defeats the purpose
That also means he cant play the game if he wants to save elasticity for the right time when that time hasnt come. Things, features like this separate years of ow2 development to rivals.
