নতুন করে পরিবর্তন হতে যাচ্ছে বাংলাদেশের মানচিত্র। কেননা নোয়াখালীর দ্বীপ উপজেলা হাতিয়ায় মেঘনার বুক চিরে জেগে উঠেছে ছোট-বড় ৩০টি চর। এসব চরে হাজার হাজার একর জমি এখন দৃশ্যমান। প্রকৃতির আশীর্বাদেই বাংলাদেশ পেয়েছে অমূল্য এই ভূখণ্ড। এসব নতুন ভূখণ্ডের কোনোটিতে শুরু হয়েছে কৃষিজ পণ্যের উৎপাদন। কোনোটিতে আবার চলছে বনায়নের কাজ। আবার বাংলাদেশের সীমায় অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়ে যাওয়ায় কোনোটিতে ভূমিহীনরা শুরু করেছে বসতিও।
