    I went to this show, it was my first full concert and my first Covet concert! It was an unforgettable experience and i'm very happy that you have this all on video. The new songs live sound absolutely amazing, i'm super excited for that album to drop.

    I like your band, Yvette! It's so hard to keep a band together especially nowadays, but if you sounded great and you still sound like Covet, then you're not doing anything wrong. Nice fx pedals.

    Love Odessa so much. Seen them in Scotland a few months ago and it was just Yvette and Forrest. Glad to see them keeping the same essence with a different line-up.

    no one can replace forrest rice... I love covet but sorry it lacks some crispy and spicy drum n bass details that made covet being covet.
    yvette is amazing as always

      @viceviscera6952 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      This is what I was afraid of. They're playing near me in a few months and I would have loved to see their old lineup, but the difference in drums alone is a tough hurdle. Forrest brought so much extra feeling and complexity that fit PERFECTLY with Yvette but this is not even in the same league. Might skip seeing them live until they work it out.

    • @BechirJelassi
      @BechirJelassi ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@viceviscera6952 I don't think that they will "work it out" so maybe you still can go and support Yvette anyway

      she is great, but put a too straight foward feel on them songs, does not proper fit the very math rock/prog style. But she isnew to the band, she will fit better as the shows goes on.

    The drums were so different that I thought Yvette pulled a fakeout, going into a new/different song after the intro. Didn’t expect leaden hands where delicacy was needed. Oh well.

    Whatever happened behind the scenes, hopefully it's for the best. I'd be lying if I said this doesn't feel a bit...off...in the drumming department but perhaps it's because they're trying to cover someone elses parts. I'm hoping that any new material written in the new drummers style will click better.

    Man this band is awesome... Im a metal head, hip hop head, and jazz head but I totally dig these instrumental bands like Covet and this other band my kid sister turned me onto called Khrugangbin. I dont understand why people go to live concerts just to record whats happening in front of them and watch it later on back at home when they could just watch it live and be in the moment! The only time I ever recorded a band performing at a show was so I could show my terminally sick friend who couldnt come but other than that I dont understand why people cant just enjoy the moment? It wasnt even that long ago that when I first started going to shows in the early 00's nobody had phones and people were still doing the lighter gimmick during crowd singing parts lol.

      An all-instrumental band that's been around for decades is the Mermen. There are a ton of live shows at the Internet Archive's live music archive and plenty of videos here on TH-cam. Check them out!

      @@RobG1729 I will def check Mermen out! Im always down to checking out bands I never heard of and getting turned onto instrumental bands. Other instrumental bands I dig are, Russian Circles, Chon, and Animals as Leaders. All 3 bands are instrumental but perform more prog/technical/metal. Such diverse music between the 3 bands.
