@@valerieumphenour3565 I take Montana over Brady 10 time and 20 on Sunday any day of the week. Brady played when you get a glance and they get 15 yards. I would have liked to see what Montana would have been able to do with those rules.
Met Jerry Rice at the Super Bowl experience in Atlanta. Got a picture with him and he signed my 49ers helmet. He stayed and signed a hour after his time was up. Very nice guy.
I had a chance to meet Jerry Rice 3x in Chicago from 2021, 2022 and 2023 at 3 different autograph shows. All 3 times he was so kind to me and my family. What unforgettable experiences. Rice is my personal favorite WR of all-time and such a cool guy in person.
i could sit down and have a conversation with this wonderful man for hours...he's so childlike and innocent and humble. i wish there were more former athletes like Jerry Rice. We've heard the theme about doing well so his family is better off. Was that Shannon Sharpe?
My favorite athlete of all time, and a constant choice on school tests growing up as my role model. I'd love to randomly meet him one day, even though I'd probably cry.
Greatest player and nicest guy Jerry Rice shares fantastic backstory of his storied career. He was a great part of American professional football culture giving us so many thrills!! Great questions and interview!!
I didn't realize how much I liked this guy over the years. What a good man and I love his sense of humor. And Joe, I am loving these interviews. Because of them, this is my favorite TH-cam channel right now. Your friendship with these athletes makes them open up in ways I've never heard them do before. Thanks for the good work sir.
Great interview, but whoever edited it did a sloppy job. There's a lot of parts that were cut out but Joe and Jerry reacted to them without the audience knowing what they just saw. Happened like 5-6 times during the interview
Agreed. That really bothered me. Why did they cut that out. I also don't like when the interviewer cuts off the person in mid sentence. I absolutely hate that. Let the person finish there thought
Definitely the goat. It pains me to say it because I hated the 49ers, but the stats don't lie. Every award and accolade that both Rice and Montana received were richly deserved.
Growing up in the late 80s it was Magic,Michael, and this man right here Jerry Mfckn Rice! Blessed to have watched these 3 men play and the Men that followed in their footsteps... Kobe,Tom,And Tiger.
How come we don't get to see some of the video clips that Joe Buck talks about? I see just a smidgen of a video clip but I know there was more. What's up with that?!?
There are a lot of debates about the best in the NFL. Who is the best QB? Manning vs Brady vs Marino vs Favre, etc. Who is the best middle linebacker? Lewis vs Singletary vs Butkus, etc. But the question of who is the greatest wide receiver of all time, Jerry Rice is the unanimous selection. The only real question is, who is the greatest player of all time and IMO, it comes down to Rice and LT.
I AM 3 YEARS OLDER THAN JERRY, ALL I REMEMBER IS A SOUTHERN GENT AND ONE HELLUVA FOOTBALL PLAYER, PLUS WHAT I HAVE READ OF HIS WORK ETHICS! LOVE THE DUDE!
Glad 49ers took a big ole crap on Dallas that season when Deion was there. Look at the class act Jerry Rice being the greatest player ever compared to that ridiculous moron Irving who dressed like a pimp and snorted cocaine
I really enjoy these. I wish they wouldn't edit the film clips they show. Too much cutting off of the video. They might as well not even start showing the video clips! 1 second of a video? Come on!!!!!
Yes I agree. Solid content but editing leaves a little more to be desired. It’s almost like they ran it through an AI program and didn’t check the final product before releasing
For fun look up Rice's career playoff appearances against Bill Belichick coached Defense. Ha! I mean, not to put it on Rice. Bill just had great success against West Coast offenses in the playoffs. I remember Ty Law or Otis Smith talking about preparing for Rice's Raiders before the famous Snow Game in Foxboro. They said coach asked them "Can you cover this 15 yard area (off the line of scrimmage) and the CBs were like "Yeah." Coach said "Then we can shut them down." Definitely a weakness to the offense Rice was in his entire career that seemingly no one else understood quite like Belichick - because he dominated everyone else.
Yet another 49er that made life miserable for a Cowboys fan. Out of all players I grew up watching. There was none of them that could approach how smooth Jerry Rice played the game. He simply waltzed his way down field, caught the ball and took it home like they were on sale two for one. With class.
George Siefert was a fool. Had he put Joe back into this rightful spot in 92 the 49ers roll with at least 2 more Superbowls before 94. Such a silly ego move. Imagine the additional Super Bowl records Jerry would have had with Joe back there! Good lord. Jerry and Joe, greatest QB/Receiver combo in NFL history, PERIOD.
In football there is not goat. In football you have goats by position. I wouldn't say Jerry is the goat I would say he's the goat of wide receivers just as I would say Joe Montana is the goat of quaterbacks
The Original / Forever "GOAT!" = Jerry Rice #80 Sorry world, There can only be one GOAT and its not Tom Brady. The best and most impactful player ever in the NFL is Jerry Rice!! Went to 4 different SB's with 3 different starting QB's. Holds every meaningful receiving record in NFL History. He was all-pro 12 times, won season MVPs, and Suberbowl MPV. He had one underperforming season as a Rookie, even though he had 1100+ receiving yards and was rookie of the year. His rookie season was just his first of 12 seasons Jerry Rice recorded over 1000 receiving yards in an era that only the great/elite wr's were able to go over the 1000 yard receiving mark. Tom Brady has the rings like Jerry and yes a couple more. However, Tom Brady got to sit back behind a great NE offensive line, running game, and top notch defense for his first 4 seasons in the league. Asked to make minimal plays so their defensive could control the game. Even though Brady played more NFL seasons than Rice (And missed far less games than JR resulting from injuries) Brady still doesn't come close to holding the majority of major Passing Records. SBs matter but once you get to 3, your an Icon. Not the GOAT-- Tom Brady! #JerryRice#80TheeRealGOAT!
