  • Boudhanath, located on the outskirts of Kathmandu valley, is one of the largest Buddhist monasteries in the world. Boudhanath Monastery is often touted as “the center of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal.” The Stupa is best cited for its eight eyes on all four sides of the tower, each of eight eyes representing an important event in the lifetime of Buddha. The Stupa being the place of worship containing Buddhist relics, and Boudhanath, is one of the favorite places in Kathmandu for anyone!
Swayambhunath is one of the holiest Buddhist Chaityas in Nepal. It is said to have evolved spontaneously when the valley was created out of a primordial lake more than 2,000 years ago. This stupa is the oldest of its kind in Nepal and has numerous shrines and monasteries on its premises.
