Hey y'all! I'm the English voice for Finn in Owlsgard. Recording these death scenes was honestly the most fun part. Originally they were unvoiced but I asked the creator Hans, to let me do some recordings for it. I went a bit hammy and over the top with them and the creator loved it because it added a layer of humor to these pretty dark and grisly deaths. Also small fun fact, the rant that Finn gives when they sail into the fog. All of that was improvised.
One of the best young voices in gaming. Hope to hear more in the future. Also a sequel. This is too good to be a single thing. The art, animation, voices, music and feel. It's all classic but timeless for anyone to pick up if they wanna try point and click.
I believe 4:46 is what TvTropes would call a "What the hell, Player?" moment. The record scratch and the "letting air out of the band" music that plays as it explains your death is just priceless.
That bad end was... really sad actually. Heroic sacrifice is nothing new, but the emotion in the presentation really did it for me. The voice acting, the music, even the pixel animation really work in my opinion.
That's what I thought too after originally getting the good ending. It didn't help that it took me forever to figure out the tram puzzle with the iron rod so I thought fixing the robot was required initially.
@@CrankyTemplar yeah it took me ages too. Some puzzles in this game are very hard. But I still don't get why in the bad ending even after destroying the robot brain the earth is still in ruin but in the good ending everything is green and nice
They mention in the good ending that robot Finn marked a path to the forested area after saving Finn, so they brought him there. In the bad ending they don't know about it so maybe they find it eventually, maybe they don't.
Comical deaths, 4th Wall Breaking and a surprisingly tragic bad ending in what had come across as a dumb comedy game. Definitely adding this to my "get" list. :P
It's a lot of fun, although it doesn't offer hints so there's a good number of moments I got stuck. It did feel good to figure out the puzzles though. Definitely recommend if you like adventure games! You might also like Brok the Investigator, which combines adventure and beat-em-up games.
@@CrankyTemplar Well, I was a fan of the old Lucas Arts games, Sam and Max or Monkey Island for example, plus there's the TellTale games, so that kind of era appeals to me. ^^ And Brok is already on my list, don't you worry. :P

I really dislike the "wolfs are Evil" trope. and even in modern media it is still used to often.
That’s why zootopia and beast stars are really good media 👍 I’ve always loved it when they show characters like that, it makes it feel more like a society rather than a world that revolves around winning and loosing. Or a hero’s power trip, like a lot of anime.
@@hungrypizzafox Eh, i had a love/hate relationship with Beaststar. i absolutly loved the manga overall, world ,setting and everything. But when there finally was a story with a wolf as a protag, it turns out that he was only a wolf on the outside, Spoiler in case you havent read all of it yet: he refuses to eat meat, his maw grip strenght becomes weak because he is less and less of a wolf. and at one point he even rips his own fangs out to proof that he is not a wolf. it really made me dislike him even thought i enjoyed the overall story so far.
