    Parrot Linux has released their next mega release, that is Parrot OS 6 and it comes with new and improved versions of everything. Parrot 6 also comes with an updated set of offensive as well as defensive tools for digital security. Oh there’s a lot here. Black Arch - The actual Dark Horse. Then comes Parrot and then Kali. Kali is for beginners, Parrot for Pros and Black Arch for legends.

    Black Arch in my opinion isn’t the best, Arch has a history of being unstable, while Debian has proven to be stable. Parrot OS, and Kali Linux both have just over 600 tools. Black Arch claims to have nearly 3000, while Black Arch claims to have nearly 3,000 tools, it’s unrealistic to think you would use even half of them. The same goes for Parrot OS, and Kali Linux you’re not going to use 600 tools like that. If you used just 7 of those tools a day, and 7 completely different tools everyday it would take you over a year to go through all of them. That’s not realistic, or practical. That’s not even touching on how to actually use those tools, or how to use them effectively. If you even learned a quarter of the tools in either Parrot OS, or Kali Linux you would be one of the few, much less trying to even understand what half of the tools in Arch even do, or what the name of those tools even are. Yeah it’s a big number, but it’s also impractical to benefit from that many tools. Debian is solid, Arch is unpredictable. I mean half of those tools may not even function properly. 🤷🏻

      Of course Debian it’s stable it uses 2 to 5 years old packages

    • @OSLinux1
      @OSLinux1 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kritnicol8546 Debian 12 is pretty current, if you rely on a system for work. I wouldn’t recommend Arch, but it’s up to the person using the system, in my experience Arch just didn’t really work out for me, it became an unnecessary frustration at times. Debian 12, Parrot OS, and even Unbuntu with the right packages installed gets the job done. Mint is fairly stable too, but that isn’t really for cybersecurity applications. Debian 12 can be customized for a lightweight version of the tools you really only use regularly. Kali Linux, and Parrot OS just provide you with a lot tools packaged together, though they have their pros, and cons. Not a fan of Kali’s dragon theme at all personally, though with some work you can remove all of it Plymouth, Grub, splash screen, kali logo, Kali xfce, icons, can all be removed.

    For me is Parrot OS a strange OS. edb-debugger never worked for me, neiter in Parrot 4.9 nor in Parrot 6.5. Not even after reading the recos from stackoverflow, because it was never possible to open even an ordinary *.txt file. According to the dropdown menu is edb-debugger one of the most used tools.Really? I've enjoyed working with radare2 (which can be called even with r2) and also cutter, but none of them is considered a most used tool. I was surprised as I've seen some programs for VLSI. I've thought that the OS was special designed for security and not for VLSI.

      In a way yes, I have used Kali, Parrot and also Black Arch.. Parrot consumes a lot of resources, if you're dual Booted then an 8GB RAM system is fine, fine as in Minimum requirement. It's rich in features and comes with every tool that you need unlike Kali which honestly comes with the essentials .. hands down it's the best OS and is recommended by professional pentesters. But if you are a Black hat then you'll find Black Arch much more. Kali is good and can be made much more better, it also depends on the user's preference..
