    • @arminharper510
      @arminharper510 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Precisely! Writing your own Operating system requires an in depth knowledge of how a computer works both on hard and soft ware level, it requires a serious familiarity with assembly and months of hard work and at the end you will see that all your hard work has resulted in a slow and buggy mess of an operating system which works ONLY on your machine and has zero portability :D so it's way better to just download Ubuntu and then add the hacking tools you need since both Kali and Ubuntu are debian-based im sure all kali tools are available on ubuntu :)

    Good, unbiased video Zaid. I think the other major benefit to running a distro like Kali or Parrot is the community around them and the number of resources available if you get stuck. It makes troubleshooting some of these tools when they don't work quite right so much easier!

Could you make a tutorial on it? I know a lot of people will have different situations, so it would be hard to make a vid about all the problems we might encounter. It will all change because of the different packages and base OS we might start with. However, a walkthrough start to finish would be super helpful as a reference.

    Out of curiosity. . . Is there a way to let a hacker in but whatever the takes out is just garbled and not the file to begin with? In a way the server knows it is being accessed in a way other than what is conventional, and so whatever it gives you just comes out screwed up or just gives you a look a like file that is either empty or full of garbage. . . Would be interesting to create something like this.

    This should be a 1 minute video. The real answer is any OS that you like using that can install the tools you use. Not just Linux platforms but it is ok to use Windows and macOS as well if you like those and your tool is there. FireEye released Windows Commando which is Kali for Windows. It's a quick look at just how many tools are actually available for Windows.
    Kali is a great student and teaching tool. For the teacher, everyone is on the same page and all the tutorials out there will largely be in Kali which is great for the student. But beyond that, I don't use Kali or Kali like systems.
    I largely use macOS and Ubuntu while dip my toe into Windows occasionally.

  • @DomDomPop
    @DomDomPop 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    To be fair, it’s more than just a preinstalled metapackage full of tools. Kali especially is preconfigured for a singular purpose so that it’s secure out of the box. For a simple example, network services are disabled by default, along with many other configuration tweaks that aren’t necessarily as easy as just installing a package. The packages are also distributed in a verified, secure fashion that doesn’t rely on unknown sources. You can, of course, install the tools on any distro, even from their sources, but it’s especially important for beginners to understand that without significant configuration changes well beyond simple downloads and installs, you’re putting yourself at huge risk, and potentially criminal liability if you do something stupid without protection.

    • @zSecurity
      @zSecurity  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I disagree, I don't think Kali is a secure OS, yes it is designed for a single purpose which is penetration testing and security research but I don't think its a secure OS.

      @@zSecurity Hello everyone, first of all I want to thank the entire Linux community for making this system more and more used and that Windows users like me and others can easily assimilate it by taking advantage of the tools it offers us. I have had several experiences with different distributions like MX Linux, SparkyLinux,
      Ubuntu Budgie, Xubuntu and currently I use Mint as daily use system.
      My question is this:
      Using the tool called 'Katoolin' added to my system, can I learn about ethical hacking? I really don't want to create a Kali virtual machine, dual boot or Live USB.
      I know that this tool does not bring all the applications that Kali has by default, but could it be useful for Kali tutorials, videos and pages?
      Thank you and sorry for my bad English.
