    I bought one of these about a year and a half ago. I unboxed it. Tuned it up. And it absolutely blew me away. I could not believe it. Literally... perfect, right slam out of the box. Then IYV changed the body a bit. Rounded off the lower horn. Ah man....! I had to have the new one. Looks way better IMO. So I bought a 2nd one. Just as good as the first. I never did a thing to either of them Stone cold rockers! Subbing.

    I rarely see guitar reviews that include upgrades and tutorials. While I don't own this guitar, I had to thank you regardless for the time you put into the video.

    Kevin, sorry to hear that you’ve have my luck with theft in gigs and getting your guitar nuts cut properly.
    For mine the single box was a little nerve wracking in being a tiny triangle with very little padding. There were a few finishing blemishes, the neck was very dry, the strings and fretboard were covered in metal dust. This meant there was a bit of cleaning and setup that needed to take place, but nothing too time and effort-consuming. I also changed to a heavier set of half round strings (0.011s), besides leveraging a set of Gotoh locking tuning machines, Schaller straplock strap buttons and a pickup selector plate for the mods on my IJZ-300.
    I personally don’t plan on changing out the pickups and electronics for this guitar.
    If you’re looking for pickups, depending upon what you are playing, you might want to look into Lace Alumitones Fusion 251s, Seymour Duncan Eclair set (SH-2 neck, SH-4 bridge), or RailHammers. Another add-on to look into is a 6 or 12 position Varitone switch/circuit. Be very aware of the lack of depth in the IJZ-300, there is very little space inside of this semihollow body, with a very unfinished wood block under the bridge. Please note, you have a bit more room so going through the pickup holes is going to be easier than trying your go through the f-hole.
    If you’re looking for an Epiphone Broadway sized big hollowbody, check out the IYV IJZ-500.

      Hey thanks for the heads up I really can’t complain for the price at least there’s a lot of wiggle room spending money on upgrades since it’s such a bargain I love the pickups you recommended but I am mostly a lollar pickups now so I was thinking about the imperials that would sound amazing thanks for all your input it is greatly appreciated.🙏

      @@KWM1972 , another pickup option with little modification is to try a SuperTron neck with Classic Plus bridge, by the by. Lollars and Kent Armstrong pickups are awesome. If you don’t mind a little re-working of the pickup holes and rings going with a set of Wide Range Humbuckers is also very happening. Have fun out there and you are quite welcome.

      Yea your right I thought it would be cool to do something from the classic country era since most of those guys played country during the day and jazz at night. Have a good one 🎸

    Checked them out A 25% price hike from $148.00 to $202.00? overnight.
    Also while reading the reviews on their amazon page it is not uncommon for IVY/Amazon to charge $40.00 + more than was listed at the time of ordering,
    And the answer is, basically "Too bad we charge what we like regardless of the listed price". You can have and keep that crap.. No IVY for me., This was not directed at you GTone, I just thought your viewers might like the unsavory pricing practice with this guitar.
    Oh and no I do not care that it is probably a good deal, not one bit

    • @KWM1972
      @KWM1972  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the update buddy sorry about that but I wouldn’t pay more than 200 bucks for one anyway if you can get a deal that’s one thing otherwise I would spend the money on a good affinity guitar 🎸 have a great weekend
