Techniques have been honed and lessons learnt from WW1, WW2, and the Falklands + many more conflicts and other instances such as HMS Nottingham in 2002. All very effective and work greatly to keep the ship floating.
Good to have something physical, analogue, reliable with you like that old horn instead of some potentially unreliable digitised piece of technology that could randomly fail on you when you need it most! Same goes for wind up torches/flashlights as opposed to battery/electric ones etc!
There's a lot variety when it comes to warships, even just with the RN, nevermind other navies. But my favourite platform is a Type 23. I was part of RCMD's BOST 10 years ago now and it was the best training I've ever had.
3:13 Ah good. She is the same PTI that took my class through the last stages of IMF (Initial Military Fitness) during my time at HMS Raleigh. She is ruthless and I've had a few bollockings off her haha.
Have you thought of using water canons for anti drone defence. Like water blasters, maybe with multiple nozzles pointing in the general direction. Could be useful for some types of drones, plenty of water and a holding tank in a elevated position could give instant supply. Aiming it in the right direction could be achieved by just opening the valve of the nozzles pointing in the right direction.

ships my change for the better at times but the mindset of a sailor is the same when away from family and friends as it has been for years did not have internet or mobile phones in the 70/80 just the good mailey
New abilities in combat plus old ones that are still very much a danger, make the survival of the modern warship not an assured one. The crew make the difference.
Life is very hectic on s frigate....everybody got lits of duties...it is not good for old sea dogs....only young officers and young ratings fitted the job....😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Yes we got rid of Empire in the late '40s. But still the 2nd largest defence budget in NATO and still the country the USA turns to first for military support.

Thank You so much
The last ship built by swan hunters wallsend and still going strong 30 years later
Big river!
They have to do some welding in Dock to keep her afloat really the type 26 should have been in service and these out of .😊
Nobody wears a beard like the Royal Navy 😂❤
A beard is called "a set" and you have to ask the permission of either the Captain or No1 to grow one.
Also to remove it. ⚓️😉@@tommarshall1660
The food looked nice

That deck looked a bit rusty, what has happened to the crew painting ship at any opportunity available. Wondered where the horn off the bike went.
Weight and balance calcs it throws off apparently

Don't mention her age on camera, she'll be for the chop otherwise. The MOD, bean counters, would love to get their hands on her.

30yrs old! RENEW!
That was really hard to watch so many erms in their conversations what has the Navy come too.
hi, i think Sir Francis Drake would be most impressed with this ship,

no ship to ship then? - just good fitness and firefighting skills lol shame
They should in the Mediterranean and off Dover stopping the invasion of the UK from Africa and the Middle East.
What exactly do you want them to do. Blow rubber dinghy up?
They won't do that because that's what the people want.
"Immigration" is a Home Office (Border Force) responsibility, not an MoD (Royal Navy) responsibility.
