Town in The Centre of Ireland
Located right in the centre of Ireland and built on the banks of the mighty River Shannon, it’s natural that Athlone has piqued the interest of everyone from saints to sergeants through the centuries. Walking around town, it feels like every building has a story, from the 12th century castle, to the 17th century barracks, to the 19th century workhouse, a remnant from Famine-era Ireland.
Sean’s Bar is part of the life and soul of Athlone, Co. Westmeath, Situated in the Heart of Ireland, halfway between Dublin and Galway.

hi! how'd you handle accommodation there? I cant choose between Czech Republic (Brno) and Ireland (Athlone) for Erasmus exchange program. Was your experience good?
@@kavunsever5695 You could contact the school. They can give you recommendations regarding accommodations. I moved to other place. There is literally nothing to do in Athlone to be honest. It gets quite boring after a short period of time, life pace is slow. It's a good destination if you want to visit for the weekends.
