@@BushiAntz hope you and everyone with access to the preview build gives feedback on ABS to the devs. I can't go with another year where I have ABS drivers braking all the way after the fucking apex with no drawbacks.
@@kronos711 I think Marcel Keifer has showed in a video that the braking distance does increase by a couple of meters when using ABS. So, in theory if you master ABS off, you should be able to out brake (brake a bit later) someone with ABS on. So, they might need to increase the braking distance somewhat more. But, I agree that it is still OP. On a lot of tracks I am able to be a couple of tenths quicker when I turn on ABS. Also I'm not sure if people using ABS do experience the same tyre deg as people without ABS (since when you lock up, your tyre temps do go up leading to quicker tyre degradation).
@@WillemstadPlug yes, I believe no assists at all is faster if you are good enough to not make a mistake the whole race, what is OP about them is that you dont have to think about every corner entry and exit inputs because mistake are nullified by assists. if you are annoyed by ABS outbraking you in your league races, find a league with no ABS allowed
This gives me hope! I’m currently 1:05.083 on Austria with Full TC, Auto & ABS. I’ve only been playing F1 21 for a month, and F22 since last week, and feel like assist are not as bad in 22 because my lap times are almost the same or faster in 22
I just thought how cool is something liek the brake assist for someone who has fingers missing on his left hand for example and is playing with a controller.
Depends on the player, I know of a player who uses Keyboard and Mouse and is pretty good without most assists. Play the way that makes you happy, just know that you are going to be slower with assists and that's okay :)
I just wanted to be able to casually enjoy the game with a keyboard without bogging down out of really slow corners. Full TC is stupidly aggressive. Medium is perfectly fine with keyboard on most corners and waaaay quicker than full, but then, come a slower one and it's inevitably sbinnala on exit...
ah one question im a xbox controller player. everytime the lights go out,i apply throttle but i keep spinning. Is it because the AI behind are pushing me out or am i doing something wrong? Normally i just put off the throttle for 1-2s then continue but it really slows me down
Sounds like you're just being too aggressive on the throttle and getting wheel spin. Try be more careful with how you put your finger down. Do it slower whilst shifting up to 3rd/4th gear more quickly
I've got a thought experiment on Full TC I want to canvass opinion on, since I think more than a few of us are going to end up switching back to full TC just to get the fun of it back (I already have). I wanna propose two different types of player using FULL TC, and ask if there's a difference: Player #1 - Uses Full TC, but is lazy with the throttle, just stamping on it fully all the time, with no progression/modulation, cos they know the TC will kick in and save them. Player #2 - Also uses full TC, but still tries to drive as though they were on Medium TC, still trying to progressively ease in the throttle and get the car straight before full throttle. They just want the full TC as a safety net to stop spins. QUESTION for all - Would Player #2 be faster than Player #1? In other words, does full TC allow some room in it for the skill of modulation, or do you think it locks everyone using it to a certain lap time, regardless of how much they at least try to modulate the throttle? Interested in opinions on this - whether there's room for optimization within the Full TC setting, or not.
@@geert574 Who said anything about winning anything? I asked if the way you apply throttle on Full TC can reduce the time you lose on this setting, that's all. Playing these games is about fun. The bog-down on Full TC is not fun, but neither is Med TC at the moment. If you haven't got anything constructive to say, don't say anything troll-boy
I was a mix of the two types of player you mentioned, but i feel that Full TC on F1 22 is so much slower when compared with F1 2021, that i challenged myself to reduce to medium TC. I gess that this new cars are so much susceptible to oversteer and spins if you are no careful with the throttle, that they had to tune it up a notch. So, answering your question, I believe that the "Player #2" would be faster, because the TC ony realy kicks in when you go to eager on the throttle. If you try to modulate your acceleration, you end up not wasting much time.
@@DaviMoreira1123 Yes that's the conclusion I've come to - use Full TC, but drive AS THOUGH you're still on Med TC for best results. Look at the Full TC almost as a safety net to stop spins, but pretend you're still on Med TC as best you can. I'm also sticking with Full TC for now as I'm not at all convinced I'd be faster on Med TC, even if I mastered it. At best, I think I could get level with my Full TC times on Med TC, but not faster. Using Full TC with careful throttle modulation is delivering the best pace and consistency for me so far.
@@olliep8117 The biggest difference i felt was in the slow corners with med TC. You can use a little oversteer to make the car turn quickly, but i'm a little to far to master it still
Giving yourself 2 laps to learn to exploit the advantage of the assist is about as scientific as sticking your hand out the window to see how much the wind is blowing in the city you live.

Maybe I'm not a nice person but I think the assists even when all turned on are way too powerful. I hope for this year's game online multiplayer allows you to properly filter out players with assists based on people who have all assists off vs some assists vs all assists...Because although over 1 lap you will be slower with all assists I still think in online lobbies it can give others an advantage if you have no assists and they have full assists...especially in the wet...because it allows people to take risks and divebomb corners in ways that cannot be done without assists. Just my 0.02...

brilliant video my friend. Very informative, very helpful. Great work
This video just shows how important braking and turning points are aswell as a the correct line in corners
How long did it take you to get consistent without assist and used to a wheel etc?
For me about a month. Depending on how much you play, could be less or more time :)

Gears is the easiest one so that. Then braking, traction and racing line.
ABS is one people tend to look at first :)
lol. I'm so used to the assists, I'm having a hard time with manual gears. Need to practice more I guess.
